Here is what you need to know about him. He was so wildly popular in NXT fans were doing his 10 chant on all WWE shows. Basically the new YES chant before Rusev Day. He even got a soft debut in the Royal Rumble that was tremendously received. WWE then had him be one of the big NXT stars to debut after Wrestlemania 33, again to a massive response.

WWE has then spent the last 15 months booking him into utter obscurity.
Now, think of him as Smackdowns version of Zack Ryder, still gets a decent response when he gets TV time once every 5 weeks or so, but is instantly forgotten about for the next month+.
