ESA still has a huge amount of support from the industry, and withdrawing while still being a supporter of SOPA through the ESA is likely the intent.
I wish Microsoft would just not make stupid policies. Then they wouldn't have to revise them every few months. But if Microsoft and Sony stopped making stupid policies, they'd have one less thing to compete over.
