Case in point: this sounds like a "You know what, Sony? Fuck you because of the lawsuit!" move. By trying to prevent a thing, they ensured it would happen elsewhere. Microsoft'd still lose too much potiential revenue by not simultaneously launching the Call of Duty cash cow, but walling off an unproven Bethesda IP and a movie tie-in is acceptable enough level of petty vengeance.
