Twenty five years ago my mates were raving about Akira and it was old then. I never got around to it. I suppose there are no more ways for me to ask people how good it is, they always say how good but I never care. I will watch it after I finish “The Mighty” yet again. As it happens I am watching The Mighty right now so it won’t be long.

FYI Kieran was always the best Culkin. It’s obvious now but it should have been in 1998.
It is an important film to me.
Akira still holds up. Even though it's old, 80's and 90's animation hits different, and looks amazing in its own way. In fact as much as the best modern stuff impresses me, it will never look as good to me as the best of older decades.
