Mad Max gets away with having a whole lot of nothing on the map because the vehicle combat is so god damn fun. But vehicular combat in bl2 is pretty dull.
Probably not going to stick with this. Like 70 games on the backlog, so if one doesn't impress, it gets put on the shelf pretty quick.

Not if everybody in your party has top-notch gear (def DP Unkempt Harold, Grog Nozzle and Norfleet, plus a great shield like the 94% Sham or The Bee, for a grenade mod I'd recommend a Storm Front, a legendary ______ (whatever class you're playing) or Slayer of Terramorphous class mod, and maybe a Sheriff's badge relic or one that boosts max health).
Ideally in a party you'll want a Siren specced into Rez. The skill allows Maya to press the action button while a teammate is in fight for your life and instantly revive them. An assassin with B0re and Critical Ascensi0n can deal massive damage. A gunzerker can wreck enemies with the right gear and his action skill.
Also, prioritize farming for
Legendary and
Seraph rarity weapons and gear over
Pearlescent for farming as most of the latter don't live up to their designated rarity. If you can get a pearl Butcher or Bekah, great...the others like the Tunguska and the Unforgiven suck.
Finally, upon reaching UVHM, a great non-mission way to make XP and get amazing gear is farming Mister Tinder Snowflake in the Mercenary Day DLC and raiding the gift box every time thereafter.
