The original monthly plan of only 1 classic game per month with online play did seem really dumb. Them now going with a Netflix route or just letting the games stay available is a much easier way and less work for the long run.

IGN had some more stuff about the games themselves with only NES for launch and SNES likely next but at a much later time. Similar to PS+ and Xbox One's Live, need an active account in order to keep playing the games.

Are the Classic Game Selection compilation titles yours to keep as long as you're subscribed to Nintendo Online? Do you lose access to these games if you unsubscribe?

The Nintendo Switch Online collection of classic games is available only to users with an active subscription
