Hmm, already very interesting. Storm talks about his time in the WWE, and how that when he arrived he was actually asked to tone down his promos, because one of the writers got it into his head that Lance Storm should be a Sam the Eagle type character from The Muppets. Storm -- who considers himself to be a straight-laced but more effective promo than a lot of people here would give him credit for -- kept trying to add more to them, but they would tell him to dial it down, then he'd get buried at production meetings.

It makes you wonder, but if Lance Storm could talk better than he was allegedly allowed to, it makes me wonder if the ceiling could have been slightly higher on him. Maybe not as a full-time main event guy, but as an opponent in certain regions or someone who could have laid the foundations to be in that same sort of conversation with Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho as guys who should have been elevated at certain times.
