Countless people feel overworked, under appreciated, and seriously consider leaving their jobs, if not actually going that far, to do something they can actually enjoy and not be hassled by slave driving management and made to feel unimportant.

If anything, this makes Clark more relatable. It shows he has self value, and, like any other person, he has limits, and when those limits are crossed, he breaks and quits his job. Thats very human.

I get hes been written the same your 70+ years, but that doesn't mean it should stay that way, nor does it mean that the writers are "getting it wrong“ because theyre trying to infuse something new into the character.
