It also helped that during the creation of the 360, Epic was asked for advice and they wanted more RAM to make ports easier since the 360 structure was already similar to the PC unlike what the PS3 had for RAM and structure.

Only reason everyone goes to EA to port the Unreal engine is due to them having the experience and the tools needed to do as clean of a port as possible. Valve using EA for games on the PS3 occurred for the same reason once EA was able to adjust the Half-Life engine after a few years for PS3.
