Justice League of America is being "relaunched" with a different title.

Superman Unchained I think has been known to be a limited series for quite some time. They originally said it would be ongoing but then changed their mind and said it would just be the one story.

Lock Jaw 01-21-2014 07:23 PM

Cool, checking out the solicitations and they have a Spectre TPB coming out collecting John Ostrander's Spectre series. Will definitely pick this up in hopes that they will actually finish collecting it.

parkmania 01-22-2014 09:22 AM

Law and Order veteran Jesse L. Martin has been cast as Detective West in the CW’s Flash, according to Hollywood Reporter. He joins Grant Gustin, who will play the title role (see "Flash Cast"). West acts as a surrogate father to Barry Allen.

Krimzon7 01-22-2014 09:56 AM

Perfect...Wally West better show up

Blonde Moment 01-23-2014 05:46 AM

Should the old Birds of Prey TV series premise be brought out of mothballs and repackaged?

Shadow 01-23-2014 01:12 PM

Yes. But only if it's written by Gail Simone.

Blonde Moment 01-23-2014 09:07 PM

Just watching the episodes right now and they are not too bad aside from the appearance of the Joker (just seems too normal looking) and the CGI use is pretty apparent

Kalyx triaD 01-23-2014 10:54 PM

People need to learn to ease up with the limitations of a TV budget. Even something as well funded as Smallville had noticeable and glaring CGI, but that's a TV budget. I'm tired of reading people point it out like any sci-fi/fantasy show had effects worth a damn.

But yeah, Birds of Prey should get another shot. Especially within the Arrow-verse. Perfect fit.

Lock Jaw 01-23-2014 10:59 PM

I would watch a show with Sarah/Helena Black Canary/Huntress teaming up to fight crime and possibly find redemption for past sins. Maybe Deathstroke cripples Felecity and she becomes Oracle, moves over to Birds of Prey spin-off.

Kalyx triaD 01-23-2014 11:13 PM

The Felicity/Oracle thing would be fucking boss.

After Justice League War, all DC Animated movies will now share continuity. Son of Batman may be excluded since it was commissioned earlier, but everything going forward is connected. This pretty much means, as I've stated long ago, that everything will pretty much be New 52 adaptations or original stories in the New 52-verse.

Lock Jaw 02-03-2014 11:39 PM

Boo

Kalyx triaD 02-04-2014 02:53 AM

Clarity:

"This will definitely be the first salvo in doing new movies that are in continuity with each other. [...] Our next movie's going to be 'Son of Batman,' and that Batman will be the same Batman that you see in 'Justice League: War.' Basically, we'll have two concurrent series of Justice League movies and Batman movies, and they'll be in continuity with each other. So it's kind of world-building."

Tucker did make clear they are still doing 'Elseworlds' type movies like Dark Knight Returns, even citing Red Son and Gotham by Gaslight by name. So this seems to be the new set-up:

New 52 (JL movie, Batman movie)
Elseworlds

Lock Jaw 02-04-2014 07:00 AM

Why only Batman movies? Seems weird.

DaveBrawl 02-04-2014 09:24 AM

Maybe that's all they are ready to reveal at this point. Son of Batman was leaked before they were ready to announce it wasn't it? So maybe he's just trying to keep future projects quiet.

Gotham by Gaslight sounds interesting.

Candice Patton has been cast as the female lead in CW’s pilot for The Flash, according to HR.

Patton, whose TV credits include the role of Olivia on Heroes, as well as a role on The Young and The Restless, will play Iris West, a grad student who is Barry’s best friend and daughter of Detective West (played by Jesse Martin –see “ICv2 - Geek Movie, TV Round-up”). The character is also listed as becoming an eventual love interest for Barry, which, if they stay true to comic cannon, should eventually lead to a wedding. Grant Gustin has been cast in the title role (see “'Flash' Cast”).

Lock Jaw 02-04-2014 08:28 PM

I wonder if her detective dad will be trying to catch The Flash.

Kalyx triaD 02-04-2014 11:19 PM

Guessing Flash will be a lot more liked in Central City.

Krimzon7 02-04-2014 11:25 PM

She is delicious.

Lock Jaw 02-07-2014 12:11 AM

Surprised no one has mentioned the news that Preacher has been picked up by AMC with Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg at the helm. I never read it, but a lot of people like the series (including some people here I think).

On one hand it is on AMC, on the other, it is Seth Rogan. So I dunno.

Fignuts 02-07-2014 12:27 AM

Seth Rogan?

Preacher?

....

what?

Lock Jaw 02-08-2014 08:00 PM

Ben McKenzie of The O.C. fame cast as James Gordon in "Gotham"

Don't tell me Rogen is gonna cast himself as Jesse Custer.

Fignuts 02-09-2014 04:16 AM

I mean Preacher has it's fair share of humor, but it's all very dark humor. Not Rogan's style.

Blitz 02-11-2014 03:54 PM

More Gotham casting: Sean Pertwee as Alfred, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot, and Zabryna Guevara as Captain Essen (I'm assuming Sarah).

Kalyx triaD 02-11-2014 04:04 PM

I dunno man...

Lock Jaw 02-11-2014 05:45 PM

Erin Richards also cast as "Barbara Kean", a "sophisticated ER doctor who is engaged to marry Jim Gordon."

Kalyx triaD 02-11-2014 06:04 PM

I would imagine ER doctors to be sophisticated.

Blitz 02-12-2014 01:43 PM

Still more o' that Gotham casting: Donal Logue is Harvey Bullock.

Nowhere Man 02-12-2014 11:25 PM

Finally got around to seeing the Flashpoint Paradox. Very well animated and some very clever use of powers on display, but......blah. Between this, the Injustice video games and comics, and the current Forever Evil arc, it feels like "Depressing joyless crap-sack world where [x] amount of heroes have gone evil and now everyone's graphically killing each other for shock value" is the only trick DC knows how to do. It was especially gratuitous here, with pretty much every single goddamn scene with Aquaman and Wonder Woman in them ending in someone getting murdered, and IMO that's what killed it for me. None of the characters had even the slightest redemptive quality to them, which didn't make the whole war with the fate of the world at stake feel like it had any consequence, or that it's a world where "it all went wrong" and can still be salvaged. In a world where everyone's an asshole and a true-blue-paragon-of-good character like Wonder Woman is butchering children with swords (seriously, what is it with DC and their awful portrayal of Wonder Woman lately as this bloodthirsty psychopath?), then I'm rooting for the apocalypse.

Lock Jaw 02-13-2014 01:32 AM

Yeah, one of the only New 52 series I have been keeping up with, "Earth 2", has kind of gone the way of the dark world with heroes gone wrong.

Blonde Moment 02-13-2014 03:15 AM

With the current direction of Earth 2 i would much rather see John Romita Jr be allowed to cut loose over there. i think his style might be more suited.

Lock Jaw 02-13-2014 03:20 AM

Really a shame, Earth 2 pre-crisis, and then the Justice Society later on.... they weren't dark and grim stuff. Generally they have been more positive, vibrant, upbeat than their Earth 1/Justice League counterparts.

Nowhere Man 02-13-2014 08:08 AM

I miss when DC comics were fun.

slik 02-13-2014 11:01 AM

Latest issue of Batman, set six months into the future....

Batman's new sidekick, BlueBird

http://cdn.bleedingcool.net/wp-conte.../IMG_00481.jpg

and a big twist that will make comic nerds happy, the return of a very popular character, not seen since the reboot...

Kalyx triaD 02-13-2014 02:19 PM

Is that Parker Row?

slik 02-13-2014 03:42 PM

Harper Row, yes

Kalyx triaD 02-13-2014 04:05 PM

Where the hell did I get Parker?

slik 02-13-2014 04:53 PM

You are thinking of Peter Parker.

He is a character in Spider-Man mythology. I believe he is the second person to wear the Spider suit after Ben Reilly.
