Wellllll, it's the Big Show....just not as an active performer anymore.

Making it's way thru the reddit and twitterverse is that Big Show's contract ends February 28th, 2018. Please share your favorite, least favorite and any thoughts, memories and moments of The Big Show.

They fucked up the Big Show's first year so friggen badly.

Everything about WM2000 was badly booked, minus Kane and Tombstone Tori.

They fucked up Big Show's entire career so badly. Dude should have been his generation's Andre the Giant. He seriously might be the worst victim of WWE's scattershot, clueless attitude era and beyond booking.

Bossman telling him "You're a big, nasty bastard and your mama said so" and then making him ride around on his dad's casket was pretty hilarious though.

I could go for one last Big Show run on SmackDown.

It wasnt by mistake, he couldnt work.

They could of done a far better job protecting someone still young to the business at that point. It took years for Big Show to get the stink of 2000 off of him.

Also "this generations Andre" was impossible. Squashes are dead. You cant book anything that strong now that you have to hot shot so much. Guys having those kinds of careers will never happen again. The audience demands too much to make those happen.

Him becoming a lot more lazy and bloating in weight during his first year or two did him no favors either.

On the bright side, it did led to the funny moment of Stevie Richards being his storyline replacement for the WWF No Mercy video game.

They werent in the business of protecting people. Business was far too hot for that. Get yourself over or get out. Thats how it was. Once they got their hands on him and found out he was much greener than they realized they treated him like his ability deserved. He never recovered but he did turn into a pretty damn good worker.

A) Why do you have to hot shot so much? You don't get to excuse WWE for an unsustainable model that they are mainly responsible for creating.

B) If you're able to walk the line and get enough guys over so that you aren't forced to constantly use the same guys on a weekly basis, then you absolutely can still properly make special attractions.

I think Nia Jax is supposed to be this generation's Andre...or maybe Vader.

Nia Jax is this generation's Big Show + vagina.

Still find that incredibly impressive, especially considering what it was watered down to years later, a 2 foot off the mat hop at best.

Just looked it up. He debuted Feb.15th and didn't win his first T.V match until the end of March.

Big Show had a good career, but it would have been great had he committed himself more to his craft and staying in shape. Unfortunately, the sense I get from Paul Wight is that he was more content on being in the WWE instead of trying to be the best. The guy had great physical gifts and I feel hat he squandered it. By the time he started to mature, he was nearing the end of his career. Moving forward, I would still use Big Show very sparingly. Maybe once a year in some kind of special match. I would like to see Strowman destroy Big Show cleanly before Big Show truly fades into the sunset. Building up Braun as much as possible should be one of the WWE’s biggest priorities. Strowman destroying and possibly retiring Undertaker, Kane, Big Show, and Mark Henry would be absolutely huge.

I am cognissant of the general demographics of this board and wrestling fans in general, but I don’t think it’s asking too much for posters to not be vulgar. I came on here to discuss WWE Wrestling storylines, the wrestling industry, and various 5 star matches throughout history. If people want to make references to a woman’s labia, I believe those types of topics should be discussed elsewhere....or through private messages.

I feel like the WWE were doing a pretty good job with Big Show right up until they had him align with Undertaker....and made him Taker’s wingman. All down hill from there in my opinion. But granted, Big Show did himself no favors by being lazy behind the scenes, and then progressively getting in worse and worse shape.

For the first few months though, I think the WWE did a solid job with Show. He doninated most opponents, and looked truly larger than life. Those squash matches on Test came across really well.
