Hogan
He earned some points on this quotes about Ric Flair
“Ric Flair has had hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of one-hour matches. I’ve never had one. He’s 10 times better than I am. I mean ... it’s a no-brainer. I’ve got a certain thing that works, and I’ve got different varieties of it. I used to joke, ‘I’ve got Plan A, B, C and D. Which match do you wanna do?’ And, you know, there’s millions of ways to have matches with millions of wrestlers. But Ric’s just so much better. Some people point to me and go, ‘Oh my God, you changed the business, you did this, you did that.’ But ‘No,’ I said, ‘You guys, you mean the guy next to me: Ric Flair.’ ” Read more here: http://www.charlotteobserver.com/spo...#storylink=cpy |
Then Hogan got handed a sack of money for just showing up somewhere.

... after "Booker finally came for him".

Hogan can say that now because he's a multi-millioniare and pretty much got every single thing out of the business, even if it was at the expense of other wrestlers.
The real QUESTION, is if Hogan would have made this admission 25 years ago? It's the same thing with Triple H these days. Sure, the guy praises The Rock, Bret Hart, etc., nowadays, and also does the 'job' when necessary, but it boils down to the same thing. Would he have done this 15 years ago? I think the answer is obvious. The true test of a man is not when things have gone their way. Anyone can say or do nice things at that time. The true test of a man, and the true test of a man's character, is how they act and what they say during tough times. |
If he would have, we would have gotten Flair vs Hogan at WM8

Flair is the only true GOAT and Im glad Hogan knows it.
|
If Flair was 100% healthy, I have no doubt in my mind Hogan would not have said that publicly.... It's all about image, brother....

Hogan is the ultimate scrotum bather now it makes no difference. In 1994-1999 he beat Flair until the canvas was worn out to make money for himself and constantly undermined him. Flair quit the WCW booking committee in 1995 because Hogan refused to give a single inch. |
Hogan said Ric Flair was the greatest of all time in 2002 as well. During an interview on TSN Off the Record.
He also said no one will ever be as big as Hulk Hogan. But he did say personally that Flair is the greatest. |
Remember back in 2005 when Hulk Hogan said he'd "make that kid" in reference to Shawn Michaels or something?

HB2K - thanks bro. Secondly - JimmyMess - Hogan was already on top of the world in 2002 and was already a multi-millionaire, etc. His "spot" was in no way under threat in 2002. Hence - Hogan jobbing to Rocky, Angle, Taker, HHH, Lesnar, etc, during that year. There's a reason why Hogan did and said these things in 2002 as opposed to say 1995. |
I was shocked at his interview stuff in the 30 for 30.

Wonder who's liver would win in a match Flair or Jake the Snake or Scott Hall?

I'm genuinely surprised that they managed to get the absolutely shit-kicking at the hands of Brock out of him. |
Like he could have stopped him
|
That's true, but he didn't need to show up to work either.

No way, Scott Halls liver would march to the ring sipping a bottle of codeine syrup. That would make him invincible.

Hogan will job as long as he gets his heat back, brother. I mean, he even made WCW spend a fortune bringing in Warrior just so he could get his win back.

Hope to never see it again. |
I was 9 years old and had only been watching wrestling for about 6 months when Halloween Havoc 1998 happened. My grandfather had taped the PPV for me and within minutes of that match starting I decided to just fast forward to the finish.
Considering this was at a time when I was obsessed with WCW and ate up almost everything they were putting out, it takes some doing that not even I could sit through that match during my infancy as a fan. |
