205 Live Discussion Thread (may contain spoilers)
Please use this thread to discuss all things 205 Live.
How many of you watch this show? |
Cedric Alexander is undeniable in the ring. I don't have a problem with him being the champ at all. I just wish they wouldn't let him talk so much. His promos are beyond rigid. I almost feel embarrassed for him when I watch them.
I think Jack Gallagher is going to have a great run eventually. |
Mustafa Ali has grown on me considerably, but I feel they'll eventually turn him into the frustrated foreigner over time.
|
TJP, also dynamite in the ring, despite what appears to be some extreme douchiness IRL. I feel like they should keep him strong, though. Sort of like an upper midcarder on the show.
I guess almost everyone is sort of an upper midcarder on that show though, as it stands. Aside from the OBVIOUS jobbers they bring in every now and again. |
I do not watch this show.
|
Can we merge this with the Smackdown Thread? It's taped on the same night.
|
They should give Gulak a Neville-like run with the title. Seemingly unbeatable. Ruthless.

Gertner always 'the voice of reason' in tpww it seems |
Yeah really should be merged. It's not television bc it's on the network its TV. Doesnt deserve it own thread
|
There really are real people who watch 205 Live. Not sure why being annoying has taken such precedence for you guys.
|
Just trying to clean up the forums

205 Live should be renamed Smackdown Jr. Prob should just merge the threads

I do not watch 205 Live, but I clicked on this to see Thrilla's sig.
The division is just so worthless. Why does it exist? Cruiserweights work the heavyweights and the heavies work like cruisers. It's layers of redundant to me. I've heard the booking has gotten better, but it's like...why should I give a fuck? Wasn't Cedric Alexander fighting over a girl with...fuck, I can't even remember who it was now. |
People are enjoying the matches. I don't know what else to tell you.
|
It's been a lot better overall since they hit the reboot switch after Enzo got released. Also helps that Vince supposedly no longer has any real hands-on involvement with the brand anymore.

This is like if he put the WWE Title on Velocity in 2006. It's just odd. I mean, it's clear he still doesn't understand what he was doing with them, haha, but the idea that he's like "There's money in these small guys!" is hysterical to me. Whatever. |
"You know what we need to do, Steph? We need to push Christian. That will put the asses in the seats."
"But what about the Batista experiment?" "Screw the Batista experiment! We need Christian in our main events!" It's just so uncharacteristically Vince that he would get worked by a cruiserweight tournament. Mind blowing. |
I think the cruiserweight match on TGRR was the best match on the show, for whatever that's worth.
|
I missed the start of it. The highlights looked cool. I'm at the stage of my fandom where I have to be emotionally invested to really be impressed by the moves. Unfortunately, it might be too far gone for these guys to get me. Kalisto has made me go "Wow" a few times, but then he does something like feuds with Alberto Del Rio or Ryback and I just miss Rey Rey.
|
Tozawa and Hideo implode
Should make for a good feud |
Jobber messed up big time in his match against Buddy Murphy. Got legit KOed because he didn't protect himself for a move.
|
Should probably keep the 205 live discussion in the SmackDown! thread since it only got 2 posts here...
|
So weird that Buddy Murphy is a guy that exists.
|
Man, I miss 205 live convos being in the Smackdown thread. Just seemed "right".
|
I gave it a shot on Tuesday and wasn't impressed. Not nearly enough flippy shit. They should get rid of half the boring roster and bring in a bunch of Japanese and Latin rasslers to do said flippy shit. That's all cruiserweight rasslin really is about.
|
Really good Gulak/Kalisto match this week.
|
Gulak will be a great cruiserweight champion one day.

Super active thread. Good thing we made this instead of just talking about it in the Smackdown thread.
|
People who don't want 205 live spoiled for them should just kill themselves.
Slit their wrists right in front of their mothers. On mothers day. |
Sorry.
In kind of a dark place ATM. |
|
LOL at ABT neg repping me and calling me a faggot. Really taking it personally that no one wants to talk about 205 live in this thread
|
Doesn't quite understand the joviality of banter.
|
He'd rather just have a conversation with himself in this thread and drive off conversation in other threads. Very sad.

I figured the calling me a "faggot" in the comment of the rep was the part where the neg rep was personal lol
|
Eh. People call each other faggots all the time on here. Its just a fun word that's been marred by a lot of discriminatory use. But TPWW is taking it back.
|
lol we need to make that shirt.

Now will you guys either shut the fuck up or talk about 205 Live? |

Thread needs a rebrand.
205 Live: Anybody watching with Thrilla? |
Other people have actually posted about 205 Live in this thread without being assholes. It's not about how many replies it gets. It's supposed to serve a purpose.
|
This Buddy Murphy/Mustafa Ali match is pretty great. Am I right, ABT?
|
I read the results of 205 Live this week. I had no clue Brian Kendrick was back. I was looking forward to him looking for revenge against Hideo Itami for putting him on the shelf. Promos about Kendrick's career and livelihood being at risk could have been sick. Was he just inserted right back into the mix?
It appears Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado are just two masked guys teaming. Metalik meant something in the CWC. It feels like he is Sin Cara now. Buddy Murphy also seems to be getting a push, which is...eh. Murphy vs. Cedric Alexander feels like a Superstars feud to me. I think they're best scrapping this Cruiserweight Title thing and reintegrating the talent that matters onto the main roster to serve functional roles (Kendrick as an ally to Bryan; Buddy Murphy as an enhancement guy lower on the card, etc.). |
Itami is doing his own thing vs Tozawa right now. Would have been weird for him to drop it to have him be a face against Kendrick.
The Lucha House Party has been pretty sweet. Kalisto, Gran Metalik, and Lince Dorado. Feel like before it it was just "whatever here are those random luchadores". Now I care about Metalik/Dorado. Buddy Murphy has been pretty great on 205. I'll give you not being excited about Cedric Alexander. Dude is pretty bland. Good in the ring, but bland as hayell. |
Or you could have just planned for it and not tied up Itami with Tozawa? Buddy Murphy is just...so Buddy Murphy to me, haha.
|
Noid is this one of those things where you don't watch, and are just going off booking and what you knew about people before you stopped watching.
Because the appeal of 205 is it's wrestling, which has been consistently great for a while now. And I don't think it's something you can really appreciate or accurately judge without watching. I mean I never thought I'd be entertained by Buddy Murphy either, but from what I've seen, he's very enjoyable as a cruiserweight. |

Buddy Murphy versus Mustafa Ali was very enjoyable. I have stopped carrying about the crowd reaction. Can't really blame them with the WWE broadcasting it after a 2-hour long Smackdown.
|
Came here to say the Murphy vs. Ali Match was great.
|
Cannot emphasize how great the bout was.
|
I need to watch that then.
Been watching the reruns of Heat that are showing on the Network and will emphasise that I would rather have an hour long show like 205 Live instead of the million Southern Justice matches that I've already watched in the first five episodes. Crazy though comparing the crowds of the two shows. |

I actually just popped in to echo the sentiments of others about Ali v. Murphy. That shit was great.

I'm actually glad 205 live thread ismt merged with smackdown thread. 205 liveducks. Smackdown only kinda sucks .

I would destroy you quite easily, Guru Dave, but this thread is about 205 Live.
|
Did you watch the Murphy/Ali match, faggot?

I imagine that Guru Dave fights like Gene from Bob's Burgers.
Also, I've been catching up on 205 the past couple of days. Every episode is pretty good. |

Well to anyone who DOES just like matches, 205 Live has some good stuff going on these days.
|
That sounds fair. Are they wrestling different from the main roster yet, or are they good like those matches can be good? Not a snarky comment; a genuine question. It sounds like Cedric and Kalisto went balls-to-the-wall at GRR, which sounds like they are trying to be different.
|
It seems like they take more risks, if that means anything.
|
Yeah, I think I know what you mean.
