The X files

As it is apparently returning, I have been watching it from start to finish.

It has been taking months as each season is 24 episodes long (ish) and each episode is an hour (ish)

Who are big fans here?

I am currently on season 8 but it's weird because Mulder is not in half of the episodes. I hope the reboot is as amazing as I think it will be.

Blue Demon 01-03-2016 04:07 PM

I'm a fan, however I found seasons 8 & 9 kinda weak in relation to the rest. I found it pretty solid entertainment.

XL 01-03-2016 05:16 PM

Just started again. Up to episode 9 of Season 1. Not a chance I get anywhere near done by the 24th January.

Droford 01-03-2016 06:05 PM

Im excited but i think theres huge letdown potential.

CSL 01-03-2016 06:12 PM

love X-Files although I've never done a full "re-watching" of it all, if I ever do I just watch the arc/mythology episodes, everything else is basically standalone/monster of the week stuff

I've got X-Files on my list of shows to binge one day. I've only got vague memories from when I was younger. Don't really remember much. Like others have said though it's so much to go through. Big commitment. Don't know if I have it in me anymore.

slik 01-04-2016 08:32 AM

I watched X-Files until the mythology became too hard to follow...always give up on a show when it's history becomes "too complicated" b/c it means I have to watch like 50 episodes prior to current one to understand it.

Looking forward to this and will give it a watch.

Big Vic 01-04-2016 10:35 AM

Whats the episode where the guy found the genie and asked to become invisble and then got hit by a truck?

The Destroyer 01-04-2016 10:46 AM

Still haven't seen season 8 or 9, but I'm looking forward to the new episodes.

I think this is the only episode I have ever seen.... And even then it may have only been that beginning part that you mention, because I remember nothing more about it.

Big Vic 01-04-2016 11:40 AM

I only saw half of it too lol... right before a commercial break Moulder gets the genie and I was left thinking oh shit what is he gonna do? (I remember an on going premise of the series was he was trying to find his daughter or sister or something. Was thinking he'd make a wish about that.)

XL 01-04-2016 01:54 PM

Je Souhaite was the name of the episode. Season 7, episode 21.

Oh I agree. If I rewatched I would only watch those ones.

I went through them all this time because I remember nothing about the show so wanted to get the full feel.

Blue Demon 01-06-2016 06:44 PM

I re-watched the entire series on Netflix from Sept.-Nov. of last year in anticipation of this....can't wait for the 24th!

XL 01-08-2016 05:13 PM

Just saw clips of the new series as part of a promo for Channel 5 over here. Had legit "goosebumps". Seriously can't wait, even better that it's on (extra)terrestrial TV!!

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-08-2016 06:09 PM

I'm on season 3 right now. Might switch to CSL's episode list but I like the "monster of the week" episodes too. I remember not liking them in the later seasons though (Once Terminator dude joins). Will switch to the list later on.

Yeah the last couple of seasons are a bit of a write-off. Not to say the terminator guy is bad, but the episodes just get more formulaic and let's be honest, there's no mulder

Thanks but does this Mean "I Want to Believe" is not worth it?

CSL 01-25-2016 04:31 AM

it's worth watching just because it's an X Files film and it's set after the TV show but it's not part of the mythology, more like a feature length standalone episode

drave 01-25-2016 08:49 AM

Started re-watching this because X-Files.

Show is great, just as good as I remember it being and now in GLORIOUS HD!

slik 01-25-2016 08:57 AM

Yeah, I agree - "I Want To Believe" is pretty good.

XL 01-25-2016 12:37 PM

Looking for a link to stream the new episode...

CSL 01-25-2016 12:53 PM

put X Files "s10e01 vodlocker" into Google, use any link hosted on vodlocker.com. Be best if you have a popup blocker

Penner 01-26-2016 07:12 PM

What did everyone think of the two new eps? I enjoyed them. They really pay homage to the old stuff.

XL 01-27-2016 12:26 PM

I loved them tbf. Can't wait for the next one.

Sepholio 01-27-2016 02:12 PM

I'm already depressed this is only 6 episodes.

Blue Demon 01-27-2016 09:30 PM

Finally got around to watching them boith and they were pretty good.

drave 02-01-2016 03:50 PM

Don't understand the hate. Both episodes are very good and follow along just fine.

This has made me re-watch the first run on Netflix, not regretting anything

BingeOn.

XL 02-01-2016 04:52 PM

They set the episodes up a little strangely. Episode 2 should have been episode 5, and would have presented more as a Monster of the Week episode. With it following episode 1 it frames it as more of a tie-in to the mythology element of this short run. This week's episode is a true MOTW episode.

So is the Fox Network. Ratings are super fantastic.

Blue Demon 02-01-2016 07:01 PM

I liked both episodes, I would've enjoyed the first one more I think if I hadn't just binge watched the series for a couple months in preparation, as it seemed to be reviewing stuff a bit.

Sepholio 02-02-2016 01:57 AM

Third episode was funny and had that old X-files charm. Couple of completely off-the-wall twists at the end really made the episode.

Here's hoping this gets picked back up

Not to mention Mulder having the X-Files theme as his ring tone?
ahaha couldn't stop laughing at that part.

Sepholio 02-02-2016 12:40 PM

LOL yeah that bit was gold.

XL 02-04-2016 02:32 PM

That was a great comedy episode in the vein of 'Bad Blood' and 'Jose Chung's From Outer Space'.

Crimson 02-04-2016 07:49 PM

3rd episode was fantastic. There just has to be a season 2

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-06-2016 11:53 PM

Season 11.

Sepholio 02-23-2016 04:36 PM

I swear to God I wanted to spear my TV at the end of the season finale. I better not have to wait 15 years to see the other side of that cliffhanger.
