Finally playing Murdered: Soul Suspect. Say what you will about the gameplay (pretty bland adventure game style), the story, setting and atmosphere are incredible.

Shame the dev went under, but here's hoping someone makes a sequel with a bit more action and refined gameplay.

Is it worth a purchase? It's going for about $60 in some stores (xbox one games are usually around $100 here in NZ)

^ It's like L.A. Noire except you're a ghost detective. :p

Might want to wait for it to come down a little more. The gameplay is relatively simple, just exploring and investigations. The story is what sets it apart. If a great story is a big draw for you, you might want to go ahead and pick it up.

BTW, where in NZ do you live? I'm gonna be moving from the states to Levin in a few months, finally. Might try and get a place in Waikanae or Paraparaumu after a bit.

Sepholio 08-16-2014 07:00 PM

Anyways, got the platinum for Murdered. Back to TLoU:Remastered and some Forza 5.

I figured its only going to get cheaper so might hold off a little longer, definitely want to pick it up at some point though. Most games are holding around the $90-$95 mark despite being out a while.

I live in Wellington, so really not far from where you're looking. What's bringing you over here?

Ultra Mantis 08-18-2014 08:07 PM

I'm currently post game grinding in FFX HD so I can finally beat Penance, I think it's the only Final Fantasy super boss I never managed to kill. This is probably going to take up a ridiculous amount of time.

My wife is from there originally and her entire family is still there. Now that our son is old enough for school, we've reached the 'screw America' climax point. Sure parts of America are great, but I don't want him growing up in the hell hole where I'm from, and NZ is a much better office.

Speaking of Wellington, back in 2011 I spent a good chunk of town loitering around Public over on Courtenay. Also Macs brewery. So many great places to hang out around Courtenay place and the wharf.

Disturbed316 08-19-2014 03:13 AM

I was in Public the other night actually, still a great place for a drink.

Anyway, I'm still working my way through the PP trails on Dead Rising 3, only got a couple of 'Created x weapon 50 times' left to do and then the ridiculous kill 100,000/200,000 zombies ones. Will probably get the DLC once I've completed them.

Finally beat Pineview Drive. The ending was a bit Inception-ish. I think the machine just more likely did a Silent Hill-ish inception plot twist on that one.. That red haired chick Linda's fucking hot though even as a ghost.

Been jumping back into Skyrim lately. Finally took my level 81 character to a slightly more respectable level 85 while just doing misc. shit for the Dawnguard, assassination contracts as Listener of the Dark Brotherhood, and random quests.

Bought Murdered: Soul Suspect and Watchdogs for $100 online today for the both of them, should be getting into them in the next couple of days so will dive into them.

drave 08-22-2014 08:09 AM

Reaper of Souls on XBone now and probably for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time.

El Vaquero de Infierno 08-23-2014 01:04 PM

I recently bought Europa Universalis IV; I'm not going to play it until next weekend, once my interviews are over.

Anybody here played it? Thoughts?

drave 08-23-2014 01:27 PM

Never heard of it.

That's a steal for $100NZD, what with the price of games over there and what not. I was shocked at the prices when I first stepped foot into a Dick Smiths.

I typically don't enjoy too many 4x/strategy games, but I played it at a friends house and it was better than most games in the genre I've played. Not quite civilization level, though.

Sepholio 08-23-2014 07:25 PM

Finally beat TLoU: Remastered/Left Behind. Now I'm moving on to that new Wolfenstein game and Metro:Redux.

Never played either Metro game the first time around, so this is definitely a good deal for me.

Avoid Dick Smiths, Noel Leeming and Harvey Norman for games, far too expensive there. EB Games are better but still pricey compared to JB Hi-Fi and Mightyape.co.nz, that's where I buy all my games from. I think JB Hi-Fi only have one store in the Wellington area but Mightyape are amazing for delivery time.

Sepholio 08-24-2014 01:25 AM

Yeah I actually went to the JB Hi-Fi there. Didn't know you guys have EB Games, though.

I'll probably just end up going the digital route and using my NA PSN account. I'll just make sure to bring like 10TB worth of hard drives with me, lol.

Sepholio 08-29-2014 07:08 PM

Playing Wolfenstein: The New Order.

Holy shit this game is waaaaaay better than I expected it to be. Easily the best shooter single-player wise I've played in the last year.

Sepholio 08-30-2014 02:14 AM

And that's done. Time for some Metro: Redux

drave 08-30-2014 12:36 PM

Beat Reaper of Souls with a monk this morning. Still not level 70 but soon. Adventure mode is fucking sweet and the reward system keeps things interesting by having the player go to random parts of the game. Haven't had a chance to play with rifts yet, but that will happen soon.

Gonna try (really) to return to GTAOnline. Ultra Street Fighter 4 before I retire, of course. Basically get my jollies before Destiny drops.

Never said I would "Play the campaign and quit" did I? Nor is it the last thing to do in the game.
