Flash on CW

The Flash is part of the DCCW Universe currently shared with Arrow.

VSG 05-15-2014 12:12 PM

I will be starting on Arrow soon but this is good news. Who would have thought these CW shows would be doing more for DC than the movies?

Kalyx triaD 05-15-2014 12:25 PM

Me. DC has a good TV track record.

Vastardikai 05-15-2014 12:52 PM

The Flash used to be my comic in my younger days.

Kalyx triaD 05-15-2014 01:26 PM

I was never a fan in particular, but I watched the first TV series way back when.

Kalyx triaD 05-15-2014 01:51 PM

THERE'S MORE:

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Yj0l7iGKh8g?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I am so down it's not funny. That trailer is as hype as some movie trailers.

Lock Jaw 05-15-2014 02:25 PM

Whoa.... literally can't wait for this show.

Lock Jaw 05-15-2014 02:26 PM

Wonder what resident TPWW Flash-Fan Jimmy Cones thinks of this

Lock Jaw 05-15-2014 02:38 PM

The Flash will be airing Tuesdays at 8PM

Kalyx triaD 05-15-2014 02:54 PM

With SHIELD moving to Tuesdays at 9, it's gonna be a good night.

DaveBrawl 05-15-2014 03:02 PM

Finally Tuesday is no longer the worst tv night of the week.

Jura 05-15-2014 03:50 PM

Tuesdays have been loaded. Thursdays used to be the best but no longer. I think it's Wednesdays and Fridays that are at the bottom.

Tuesday - Agents of S H I E L D, The Originals, New Girl, Supernatural, Person of Interest, Brooklyn Nine-Nine etc

DaveBrawl 05-15-2014 03:57 PM

For me Agents of Shield has legit been the only show I have actually wanted to watch on a Tuesday since like high school.

Wednesday's I have Arrow, Criminal Minds and Archer. Never thought about Friday or Saturday though.

Corporate CockSnogger 05-15-2014 04:22 PM

Looks sweet, potentially a little goofy, but hopefully just sweet.

dronepool 05-15-2014 09:52 PM

The trailer hyped me up. I haven't seen all of Arrow yet but I did just watch the Barry episodes and this show looks more fun than Arrow.

Krimzon7 05-15-2014 10:05 PM

As the founder of the Arrow on CW lovewagon, I approve of this thread, this trailer, this excitement and this timeslot.

This is gonna be some epic shit. Wonder if Flash gives Ollie a little more of that comedic wit. He's been so good as a brooding bad ass, it would be cool to see some wise cracking GA.

On second thought, maybe not. Keep Ollie just as he is. Let Barry have his own gimmick

This whole thread summary in seven words.

Just marked out at seeing Jesse L. Martin playing a detective again.

RIP Detective Lennie Briscoe

Kalyx triaD 06-16-2014 03:32 PM

In hindsight, they did superspeed pretty well.

Lock Jaw 06-16-2014 03:33 PM

Never seen the old Flash show. That intro reminds me of the Batman: TAS intro for some reason.

Sixx 06-16-2014 03:40 PM

That guy is a total early 90s dreamboat.

Nowhere Man 06-16-2014 08:56 PM

Anyone else kinda hoping that the actor who played 90s Flash shows up at some point as Jay Garrick?

Kalyx triaD 06-16-2014 09:07 PM

Actually he's been cast as Barry's father.

JimmyMess 06-17-2014 01:22 PM

The music sounds like Batman the Animated Series

Dark-Slicer Diago 06-18-2014 08:13 AM

The reason the theme is reminiscent of Batman: TAS is because it's also from Danny Elfman.

Kalyx triaD 06-18-2014 10:58 AM

Did Elfman do that theme? Thought it was Shirley Walker.

Asmo 06-26-2014 11:41 PM

So, who's seen the pilot?

I'm a complete novice when it comes to The Flash. The pilot did what it was supposed to - had me intrigued about what's going to happen next.

That being said, X-Men DOFP did such an awesome job with Quicksilver that the fast running sequences here feel campy. But considering that's a movie, and this TV, i'm guessing they did have to cut corners.

Oliver Queen's cameo was 'cool'. Marked out a bit there.

Lock Jaw 06-26-2014 11:44 PM

Doesn't debut until October, bro

The Destroyer 06-27-2014 02:34 AM

It leaked though.

Kalyx triaD 06-27-2014 03:21 AM

It has indeed leaked. So if you got into it please consider spoiler tags until official release.

Lock Jaw 07-09-2014 09:45 PM

Robbie Amell cast as Ronnie Raymond

ClockShot 07-10-2014 03:03 PM

No doubt Steve might have had a hand in that to make sure he landed softly after Tomorrow People got axed.

VSG 10-07-2014 09:09 PM

Debut time.

Lock Jaw 10-07-2014 10:29 PM

I enjoyed it. Will tune in again.

I predict confusing time travel shenanigans in the future. And the past.

VSG 10-07-2014 10:33 PM

I had watched the leaked pilot before but this was still pretty good. Having 2 series with common elements will be interesting, with this going more into the supernatural villain of the week for now.

Lock Jaw 10-07-2014 10:35 PM

I look forward to seeing Grodd.

Everything is better with apes.

VSG 10-07-2014 10:36 PM

Definitely, Grodd is pretty awesome.

McLegend 10-07-2014 11:40 PM

Pumped me up for Arrow.

Lock Jaw 10-08-2014 12:03 AM

Yeah, can't wait for tomorrow. Unfortunately, I will be out of town consistently on Wednesdays working evenings for pretty much the entire season. So I won't be able to watch Arrow until Thursdays.

McLegend 10-08-2014 12:19 AM

Very disappointed in you.

Also there was a mention of Wayne Tech or Wayne Enterprises in this Pilot. It was probably just a throw away line that doesn't mean anything. However it does beg the question does Batman exist in this world? I feel like it's been hinted at in some interviews that he does exist. Nothing on screen though.

So in short I don't know. I'm just interested.

Miotch 10-08-2014 01:28 PM

The acting and writing was especially awful. The story was entertaining. Some of the effects are really good, others... really not.

In short I thought it was OK but overly cheesy. Lots of room for improvement, though I think it can certainly do just that.

I agree with this. Hopefully it can settle down after a few episodes and hit its stride.

Lock Jaw 10-14-2014 09:13 PM

Finding it kind of "creepy" Barry bonding with Detective West in a father/son manner, while wanting to bang Iris with whom he has had a brother/sister relationship.

Anyways, was thinking the entire episode "Cool, Simon Stagg.... he'll be a cool recurring character to have around, and could maybe lead one day to Metamorpho being on TV"

So much for that.

Also, hope that Multiplex isn't really dead. Can't keep killing off all the villains....

VSG 10-14-2014 11:44 PM

This is def a weekly villian thing going on, and I had the same thoughts about Iris too. Weird vibe despite the comic book history.

Jimmy Cones 10-15-2014 01:30 PM

Yeah, I'm not a fan of all the killing either. I know that the rouges are a nice big group of villains to fight but they can't keep dying. They need to create 2-3 episode story arcs with some villains while others make a cameo here and there and get their own arc later. That is usually how the comics go. Then include a season long thing to wrap most of it up while leaving bread crumbs for the second season. In any case, I feel like the second episode was better than the first.

I could totally see some time changing things for season 2 where all of a sudden his mom gets saved and he and Iris don't grow up all brother/sister and they are free to date and stuff.

Kalyx triaD 10-18-2014 12:08 PM

Nothing stopping them from dating altogether, especially after Joe certainly bites it.

I love the 'detective's eye' thing they do.

McLegend 10-28-2014 06:14 PM

Felicity is on Flash tonight.

I'm ok if she gets with Barry tonight however the internet wrestling in me thinks they should hold off on until the cross over.

Lock Jaw 10-28-2014 09:46 PM

Enjoyed Captain Cold.

Also Heat Wave coming too makes me happy.

Felicity is always great as well.

Miotch 10-30-2014 02:22 PM

Much less cheese this episode, with a couple exceptions. It's getting better, which I thought it might.

Captain Cold was great. Really well done I thought.

VSG 10-30-2014 03:27 PM

Definitely came off great, all the way down to the attire.

Simple Fan 10-30-2014 06:34 PM

The Rouges are slowly coming together.

Lock Jaw 10-30-2014 07:24 PM

Need to hear Jimmy Cones' weekly thoughts on the matter....

I thought that quizzo (or whatever other people call bar trivia) scene was cheesy.

Jimmy Cones 10-31-2014 02:57 PM

Solid episode until the end. WTF a vacuum with LED lights? And they just let him walk off somewhere?

In any case, the rogues have been needing to come together and we finally have a story arc building.

Kalyx triaD 11-01-2014 02:22 AM

Cold was badass. Loved his face when Cisco gave him his name.

Jimmy Cones 11-12-2014 10:59 AM

Telling Iris that he didn't want to hang out so much was weird. I liked the Grodd foreshadowing. Detective West getting all giggly over the vibrating vocal thing gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.

loopydate 11-12-2014 07:38 PM

Yeah, that scene was wonderful.

Lock Jaw 11-13-2014 11:20 PM

Pretty good ep. Sorry to see Plastique go like that... Hopefully maybe she has an ability to reconstruct herself after dying and exploding.

She has been known to be part of the Suicide Squad, so would be cool if Waller somehow got a hold of her.

Kalyx triaD 11-15-2014 01:51 AM

I don't believe for a second Plastique is dead. I imagine she can survive her own blasts.

And I'm thinking Waller already has tabs on the meta-human occurrences. I think she'd like her own Gambit.

Yeah, bbutcan she survive getting shot and dying before exploding? I hope the answer is yes.

Lock Jaw 11-18-2014 09:01 PM

Sure. Reveal your secret identity to the supervillain.

McLegend 11-18-2014 09:06 PM

Yeah, there is no way he that can come back to hurt him.

The whole Tom Cavanagh plot is really fascinating. I need more of that.

Also Arrow better beat Flash in the crossover or I riot.

Jura 11-19-2014 01:25 AM

Motherfucker keeps showing his face to everyone. I like how Iris one-upped his Supersonic Punch.

Jimmy Cones 11-20-2014 02:23 PM

I can't understand why a super villain would push a bunch of shelves over on his enemy and then not check to make sure he was dead. Other than that, it was another solid episode. I can't wait for some of the story arcs to start getting intermingled.

Lock Jaw 11-20-2014 02:25 PM

I hear things will pick up dramatically for the "midseason finale", especially because they didn't originally have a full season order.

Miotch 11-21-2014 02:58 PM

Cavanaugh has to be Zoom, right?

Lock Jaw 11-21-2014 03:23 PM

Certainly leans that way.... I wonder what Eddie Thawne's "role" is...

Harrison Wells could be a Red Herring, and Thawne turns out to be the Reverse-Flash.... or maybe he is just an "ancestor" of Eobard Thawne.

Miotch 11-21-2014 06:56 PM

My theory...

Wells is indeed Eobard Thawne from the future.

Dark-Slicer Diago 11-24-2014 09:56 AM

I think that Eddie will actually turn out to be the Reverse Flash, just atm he doesn't have his powers yet.

Lots of name dropping in those people who "died" from the particle accelerator.

Ralph Dibney
Al Rothstein
Grant Emmerson
Bea Decosta

May have been another... Plus Ronnie Raymond, who we know is coming back eventually.

When they inevitably fight. Arrow better win.

Jura 11-27-2014 02:04 AM

Motherfucker keeps showing his power off to everyone without his suit on.

McLegend 12-02-2014 07:41 PM

Flash vs Arrow!

McLegend 12-02-2014 09:00 PM

Wait did they show how they caught the bad guy?

I think that was a win for the Arrow btw.

Lock Jaw 12-03-2014 12:29 AM

They skipped over how they caught the guy. Pretty weird. Basically just reduces him to a plot device to get them to fight.

McLegend 12-03-2014 05:16 AM

My TV kind of blacked out at that point so I wasn't sure if it skipped over that part.

I thought the first part of the crossover went really well. Oliver's dickness was in rare form. Also I'm not the only one that kind of dislikes Iris am I? It definitely seems like she isn't suppose to be that like able.

Dark-Slicer Diago 12-03-2014 08:59 AM

Wells was the real dick outing Oliver as the Arrow in front of everyone, when at first he didn't know, likely going into his secret room with all future news.

Destor 12-03-2014 12:52 PM

That's just silly tho

Motherfucker keeps showing his face off to ex-wives of friends he just met with his suit on and mask off.

Kalyx triaD 12-08-2014 01:59 PM

FOR THE THIRD TIME, MARK HAMILL IS PLAYING THE FLASH VILLAIN TRICKSTER (following his original portrayal in the first Flash series and voicing Trickster in the DCAU).

McLegend 12-08-2014 07:20 PM

I said they should get him. I should get credit for that.

McLegend 12-09-2014 09:02 PM

So the question is how was he able to be in two places at once?

Simple Fan 12-09-2014 09:20 PM

Damn I was thinking Harrison was Barry from the future and thats why the flash was missing. Now he seems to be reverse flash, I dont know.

Simple Fan 12-09-2014 09:22 PM

I asked my brother that same question and he said time travel

Dark-Slicer Diago 12-10-2014 08:40 AM

Sounds right, since Reverse Flash can time travel when he reaches the appropriate speed.

Simple Fan 12-10-2014 02:30 PM

Yea next season is really going to open up the time travel. Sisco hinted that the Flash might have been in the house the night his mother died.

McLegend 12-10-2014 08:27 PM

No I mean how was he able to interrogate himself?

Jura 12-10-2014 10:32 PM

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/xe0JiobQ98o?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Miotch 12-11-2014 02:04 PM

I'd love it if they did Flashpoint, but it would have to be a scaled back version of it to work.

Optimus Bone 69 12-11-2014 03:28 PM

Love the show but the intro reminds me of the masters of the universe intro

Simple Fan 12-11-2014 09:03 PM

Maybe Harrison just built the suit and someone is going to steal it.

Lock Jaw 12-11-2014 09:34 PM

Just watched. Lots of stuff going on.

My theory is that there are actually TWO Reverse-Flashes.

Dr. Wells is more in the line of Hunter Zolomon, who wants to make The Flash a "better hero".

While Eddie Thawne eventually goes insane after Iris leaves him and some other stuff, has a huge grudge against The Flash, gains powers, and becomes the Reverse-Flash, who conspires with Dr. Wells (gives him technology and future knowledge).

And now, yes McLegend, I will go watch Arrow.

Simple Fan 12-12-2014 10:44 AM

Yea I have a feeling that Eddie is gonna steal the suit . The suit gives him the speed.

Jura 12-12-2014 05:13 PM

The Reverse Flash stole the Tachyon thing though and at the end it shows Wells putting it on the suit or maybe I'm wrong?

Miotch 12-12-2014 05:44 PM

Thawne could still be involved. He even asked "why didn't it kill me?", which may have been a red herring but it also could have been eluding to it.

Simple Fan 12-12-2014 05:47 PM

I figurer that was some sort of device that gives the suit speed. He was talking to the metahuman that could take the Flashe's powers and I believe that device was the result of that.

McLegend 01-21-2015 05:32 PM

This came back last nght, and I enjoyed it.

No cool Tom Cavanagh moment though.
