It only doesnt matter if you dont look at butts in seats and only look at your preconceived notions

Destor 11-10-2017 08:08 PM

Norton had legitimate success as a top guy in a legitimate market

X-factor was abysmal, but nWo B was just as bad and did a ton of damage to the brand.

I can literally only remember powerbombs when I think of Norton.

Bested here by a better worker and a more charismatic personality in Pac

Miz is also safe and thats great but all people care about and want to see is Braun killing people. I for one do remember stuff Norton did before ending lives via powerbomb.

When I was a little guy and Xpac had worn out his welcome we started to realize he wasn't cool at all he was just always associated with cool people

I know a lot of people in the Canadian Football League..... and that is with not caring about it at all.

Lock Jaw 11-11-2017 12:37 AM

Anyways, I vote for Scott Norton because I am afraid he will powerbomb me if I don't.

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-11-2017 12:54 AM

then Meng should be automatically put into the HOF without a vote.

Nicky Fives 11-11-2017 01:24 AM

X-Pac easily in my eyes. Back in 1998-99, the average person could have picked out X-Pac and known he was a wrestler, he was that over. No average person knew who Scott Norton ever was.

Doug Flutie. That is all you need to know about the CFL.

I can literally only remember anus tearing with X-Pac. Scott Norton was a draw in Japan, X-Pac is a draw on podcasts because his drug stories are funny

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-11-2017 01:38 AM

Japan doesn't count here. It's like a tourist being a hit with the ladies. Only popular because of the differences not the talent/personality.

#BROKEN Hasney 11-11-2017 01:38 AM

I dont even ever look st these objectively, but Destor is talking sense. If a Norton match is happening on one channel and a Bret match on another, you better goddamn believe I'm watching Norton.

Is that like you not counting anywhere in life?

#BROKEN Hasney 11-11-2017 01:40 AM

A vote for Syxx is a vote for The Young Bucks

How many Stallone movies was Syxx in?

Spoiler: 0. More points to Norton.

And I'd better see some schmuck get powerbombed through the mat

Goddamn right. He was still power bombing motherfuckers this year.

#BROKEN Hasney 11-11-2017 07:42 AM

REQUEST: If Sean "Bret, Hall and Eddie carried me to my three good matches before I was found out to be so terrible they christened a type of negative heat after me" Waltman wins this, his next opponent should be Masahiro Chono so I know which peoole have no merit in discussions about wrestling.

Living in Saskatchewan, the one place in Canada where people actually care about the CFL, and working in tv probably helped me. When I was in Toronto probably also knew about 4.

Fignuts 11-11-2017 08:12 AM

Wow, check out STD totally sticking it to Dave Meltzer by not counting Japan in a wrestling forum poll. That'll show him!

Fignuts 11-11-2017 08:14 AM

Only thing x-pac ever did that I cared about was tearing his own asshole apart on a bronco buster. Nothing else was as fun as wastching Norton work.

Which is fair enough. But I would choose Bret over pretty much everyone. Knah'mean?

Sepholio 11-11-2017 08:17 AM

Bret wasn't all that great imo.

As I said, fair enough. But there's enough people who think otherwise.

Fignuts 11-11-2017 08:26 AM

Well all this Bret talk is as irrelevant as X-pac's last WWE run, so whatever.

#BROKEN Hasney 11-11-2017 08:36 AM

All this Bret talk should be ripped up.

Much like X-Pac's anus.

Evil Vito 11-11-2017 08:41 AM

Norton kicked ass in Japan and was one of the many wrestlers stupidly underutilized by WCW.

While anal tearing and drugs are not a great combo, there is so much more.

I remember the fluke win over Razor, the awesome title match with Bret, his reveal as Syxx, fun cruiser matches in WCW, his reveal as X-Pac, as a key guy in European title feuds (fond memories of that title), his tag team with Kane...sort of tails off after that, bar a few good IC matches.

Had a decent career though, in spite of his obvious problems

Maluco 11-11-2017 12:45 PM

Also, I can remember good to great matches with Owen, Malenko, Razor, D'lo, Shane, Martel, Marty, Jarrett, Flair, Hakushi, Triple H, HBK as well as tags with Razor, Kane.

Japanese wrestling can't be discounted, but those writing off Waltman with "lol anal tearing...guys....Japanese wrestling i!!" are just as bad.

Also, LOVE Bret Hart...my "list" would probably start with guys who don't give him any credit for the worker he was.

#BROKEN Hasney 11-11-2017 01:30 PM

This isn't about Japanese wrestling, this is about X-Pac beating a great from anywhere. Here I'll write out his best promo ever:

"MAKE SOME NOISE!!!"

Unless you count the time he blacked up, I guess.

I wouldn't be arguing so hard against it if it was Billy Gun winning even.

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-11-2017 01:53 PM

I like pac, but am entertained by Hasney's campaign against him.

#1-norm-fan 11-11-2017 06:44 PM

I've yet to vote. I think X-Pac had more of an impact but my general guide in these things is "If both were booked equally well on a level playing field, who would flourish more?" And I've gotta go with Norton there. Leaning toward him.

Fignuts 11-11-2017 07:06 PM

X-pac's impact was completely dependant on the people around him. By himself he didn't offer anything a hundred other top cruiserweights couldn't do.

EXACTLY.

Even at his height X-pac was only ever a mid/lower card champ

Norton was a fucking world champion.

And for everybody arguing the general public doesn't know about it that does not matter. YOU know about it.

IIf X-pac had half the charisma people are claiming his group shouldve been at least as popular as The Brood.
