LEAVE WISCONSIN ALONE!!! LEAVE EM ALONE!!!

Tom Guycott 11-19-2017 01:03 AM

Feck that. They felt the need to run roughshod over their schedule. They locked up the West. Ohio State already has the East even if they... lose... to TTUN. They meet for that weird looking trophy. Afterwards, either way, we'll see how the playoff picture shakes out.

Big a Buckeye fan as I am, I wouldn't be entirely upset that Wisconsin goes undefeated and makes a legit beef for a playoff ranking in spite of that BS thing I heard earlier about them supposedly having "weakest strength of schedule" while Alabama enjoyed their bye week against Mercer, and Clemson "played" the freakin' Citadel.

Frank Drebin 11-19-2017 01:23 AM

Their best win is a 9 point win at home against my hopefully Holiday Bowl bound Northwestern.

This week of college football sucked balls. Everyone trying to play cupcakes prior to their rivalry games. When did that become a thing?

When everyone bitched about playing cupcakes at the beginning of the season and not having conference championship games.

As much as I enjoyed THE game (both teams left bodies laying; exactly as it should be in the rivalry)... that "War of I-4" should go down in history as one of the best college football games of all time. And I say that with the least amount of hyperbole as possible: it was that damn good.

Also, those UCF helmets had some of the most swag this side of Oregon getting Nike money.

Simple Fan 11-28-2017 01:24 AM

Louisville managed to salvage the season after a slow start. Lamar looked too good vs Kentucky and I feel like he'll go Pro. Just hoping he doesn't land with the Giants if so. Also with the AD gone Bobby Patrinos buyout was lessened and he could take one of these high caliber jobs available. Hoping Louisville goes to the Pinstripe Bowl or Sun Bowl but looking like the Tax Slayer Bowl most likely.

Frank Drebin 11-29-2017 08:57 PM

Trying to figure out how my mbbal team (The mighty Bradley Braves) have a top 25 RPI. I know it's really early and these numbers are wacky at the start but goddamn.

Frank Drebin 11-29-2017 08:58 PM

Also, Northwestern should be the first three-loss team in the football playoffs. Fuck you all.

Emperor Smeat 12-02-2017 07:15 PM

:D First time in 8 years Rams beat rivals PC in hoops.

YYYUUUSSSS. All is right in the world of college football.

And Fromm is only a freshman. And Swift is only a freshman.

Sepholio 12-03-2017 04:58 AM

On a side note, the #1 high school recruit in the country who switched commitment from Alabama to UGA is pretty beastly. He plays QB and his team eliminated my old high school in the state quarterfinals last week. He ate them alive. Looks promising for Georgia.

Sepholio 12-03-2017 05:52 PM

Really shocked Alabama got the #4. Ohio State just didn't beat Wisconsin bad enough I guess. If only they would have kept their foot on that throat instead of letting Wisconsin creep back.

Based on FPI they seem to think the national championship is going to end up being UGA vs Alabama. All SEC title game. I can't wait to hear the crying that ensues if that scenario plays out.

I don't think it will happen though. There was one team I didn't want UGA to get in the semis. Oklahoma. And look how it played out. That is going to be a tough game. Alabama and Clemson is a toss up, but Clemson has the momentum right now, especially after thrashing Miami the way they did. I think the final will be Clemson vs Oklahoma, personally, with Oklahoma going over in the end due to Baker Mayfield magic. He will win the Heisman for sure in that game.

Frank Drebin 12-03-2017 08:12 PM

Lame ass Wisconsin choked.

1) I'm actually not. The two factors here weren't so much the Buckeyes not hanging enough points on the Badgers, but the combination of letting a team that had no business beating them do so (Iowa), and the fact that OSU got a bump last time they were in this situation (albeit, there was more argument here than there was there - they didn't even play for the Big Ten championship and then played embarassingly to not even warrant that nod). Expanded playoffs would fix some of that, but that's not going to happen yet.

2) Assuming Alabama has always been the name of the game for like the last decade. I still hate all the "SEC IS ALWAYS TEH BEST IN PERPETUITY" nonsense, and some of those tears you speak of will be mine. But even worse than trying to milk that almighty SEC teat for ratings and dollars, (which is understandable from a buisiness standpoint even though college football is supposedly not a business that a bunch of suits make a ton of money on) is unilaterally trying to hand the Tide the championship every season.

On a side note, really wish the "playoff" games weren't rotating predesignated bowls. Something about the Big Ten/Pac Ten champs not playing Rose Bowl seems off to me.

Louisville/UK game being on a Friday at 1:00 is stupid. Usually they play on Saturday, I'll have to listen to the game on the radio.

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 12:43 PM

Northwestern gonna tear UK a new asshole today. The sound of an anus tear will be Music (City) to my ears.

Simple Fan 12-29-2017 04:12 PM

Well Louisville pretty much quit with 6 minutes to go in the first half. I don't think Padgett will last as the coach after this season.

Should be a good game, UK has a spotty defense and tends to leave WRs wide open.

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 05:45 PM

This game is off the rails already. UK defender suplexes an NU wideout and gives him a concussion. NU loses starting QB with what looks like a torn ACL after he makes a catch on a halfback pass. Refs questionably eject the best player on UK (RB Bennie Snell) after he makes contact with an official.

Simple Fan 12-29-2017 05:46 PM

Northwestern really going to win now after that Snell ejection. Craziest ejection I've ever seen.

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 05:49 PM

That was one of the worst calls I've seen. I would be seething if I were a UK fan. Looked like there was miscommunication with the ref having his hands out looking like he may have wanted to help him up. Really strange.

Simple Fan 12-29-2017 05:50 PM

Seemed like the ref reached out and grabbed Snell and he just reacted. Unless he said something to the ref its a very questionable ejection.

We'll see. The backup QB sucks. Alviti was a top recruit at one point but has always been bad. There's a reason Thorson was picked to start over him when Thorson was a true freshman. NU gonna run the ball alot now and become one-dimensional. Defense is gonna have to create turnovers.

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 05:54 PM

Terrified that Thorson's injury will bleed into 2018. Kid has a chance to go pro. Prob would have been a 6th or 7th project pick if he left this year

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 05:54 PM

There's a TO. W00t!!!

Simple Fan 12-29-2017 06:06 PM

Wow this game is amazing.

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 06:09 PM

lollllllllll....UK head coach going nuts arguing for a late hit, gets an unsportsmanlike conduct before his team could attempt a 45 yard FG, knocking them out of range.

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 06:09 PM

UK starting QB hurt now.

I thought he was going to eject him as well.

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 06:14 PM

Glad UK fans aren't as passionate about Football as they are Basketball otherwise there would be trash on the field at the least.

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 06:15 PM

That was a good tackle, but with this crew I can totally see NU's best defensive player getting tossed for shits and giggles.

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 06:17 PM

OMFG

Simple Fan 12-29-2017 06:18 PM

I hate targeting calls so much.

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 06:18 PM

I've never seen a game officiated like this.

Yeah....it's really gotten out of hand this year. Feels like every hit gets reviewed.

On that play specifically I have no idea why thats targeting. Painfully obvious makeup call taking out NU's best defensive player after terribly ejecting UK's best offensive player.

Frank Drebin 12-29-2017 06:22 PM

If these refs did this in the playoffs they'd never ref another game at any level.
