Also, woooooo go Lions. This win was ugly but hey that's football sometimes. I'll take it. MEGATRON.

Jesus Shuttlesworth 09-17-2007 03:33 PM

What's the story with the Ed Hochuli thing? It's one of my buddies away messages too (I missed the game last night I was at Fenway)

UmbrellaCorporation 09-17-2007 04:16 PM

Basically this.

On a bizarre play in the second quarter, referee Ed Hochuli perfectly summed up what Chargers fans see from fullback Lorenzo Neal on a week to week basis.

An official initially penalized Neal for holding on a LaDainian Tomlinson run but decided to pick up the flag when he realized no foul had been committed.

“There is no foul for holding on the play,” Hochuli said through the public address system. “The defender was just overpowered.”

It was pretty ROFL. Not big on the fact that he called him out, but Hochuli is just awesome.

Still so happy about the Pats winning last night. Can't help it.

VonErichLives 09-17-2007 05:19 PM

When does Hochuli get tested for HGH? This guy seems to get more ripped every year...

and yeah, I've never seen him call a bad game or hesitate to over-rule his crew or himself to get the call right.

SammyG 09-17-2007 05:32 PM

lol Hochuli.

Gonzo 09-17-2007 07:05 PM

Hochuli is probably the best referee in the NFL.

Skippord 09-17-2007 09:09 PM

Hochuli could outlift half of the NFL football players

Skippord 09-17-2007 09:10 PM

Texans > Colts, Patriots, and Broncos

road doggy dogg 09-17-2007 10:08 PM

LOL @ the clusterfuck that was the Redskins' TD before halftime.

Triple A 09-17-2007 10:10 PM

Yah i was roflcoptering all over the place on that one. I thought Gibbs would pull them out again for the field goal after the second false start.

RP 09-17-2007 11:22 PM

ROFL @ the sTiMa34 look alike when McNabb took that sack with 10 minutes to go in the 4th.

road doggy dogg 09-17-2007 11:49 PM

Redskins are 2-0 thanks to LaRon Landry

VonErichLives 09-18-2007 07:13 AM

So, the Mangini fan club is building.

I'll expect we see more of this from older coaches who feel Mangini handeled it wrong and is a big Rat.

Billick: Jets 'illegally' simulated snap count Sunday
By DAVID GINSBURG, AP Sports Writer
September 17, 2007

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) -- Ravens coach Brian Billick accused the New York Jets of using an "illegal" ploy to draw Baltimore offside during Sunday's game.

Billick said Monday that the Jets' defense shouted out signals to intentionally throw off the Baltimore offense. Billick claimed the tactic led to the three illegal procedure penalties against the Ravens.

"They did an outstanding job. I credit the New York Jets. Their defensive line and linebackers did a very, very effective job of illegally simulating the snap count," Billick said. "They did it the whole game long. It needs to be caught."

Tackle Adam Terry bolted offside in the first and third quarters. Tight end Quinn Sypniewski jumped in the first quarter.

"That's not an excuse by any stretch of the imagination. But it is illegal," Billick said. "Our guys have to deal with it. I don't know how to help my linemen with that because, you're in the heat of battle and you're calling the snap count, and the guy across from you is also calling a snap count -- which is illegal."

The Ravens won the game 20-13. Baltimore took a 20-3 lead into the fourth quarter but nearly wilted under a comeback by the Jets, who benefited from four fourth-quarter penalties against Baltimore.

For the game, New York received two penalties for 10 yards and the Ravens were penalized 11 times for 100 yards.

"You have to look at the nature of the penalties. First off, the fact that we had 11 penalties and they only had two and we dominated the game," Billick said. "I have a hard time understanding that the team that was playing so well and dominating had so many penalties and the other team had only two."

So Donovan McNabb is saying he, along with other black QB, are unfairly scrutinized because they are black.

Article here.

Ya know, I really used to like McNabb, he was one of my favorite QBs in the league. But to sit there and play the race card to try and defend your poor play and how growingly apparent it is that you just can't get it done anymore...I don't know. I think he's digging himself into a hole. I wonder what he's going to be spewing out when the Eagles are 1-5 or 0-6 and Kolb is named the starting QB.

RP 09-18-2007 11:50 AM

Donovan McNabb is black?

SammyG 09-18-2007 12:31 PM

Donovan Mcnabb is still a player?

He better be. Well, either him or McNair cause I got both for fantasy.

ClockShot 09-18-2007 04:12 PM

In other news, the Atlanta Falcons went out and signed Byron Leftwich.

And the Dallas Cowboys went and signed Tank Johnson.

road doggy dogg 09-18-2007 04:14 PM

Remember when the Lions and Packers were atop the NFC North?

weather vane 09-18-2007 05:29 PM

McNabb is an idiot. He should never compare himself to Manning and Palmer.

SammyG 09-18-2007 05:45 PM

Yeah. He's black, therefore inferior.

Gonzo 09-18-2007 06:05 PM

I heard McNabb's comments on ESPN radio on the way home today. I got a bit of deja vu, didn't he say something similar before? Probably just mistaken. Its pretty easy to make a blanket statement that black QB's are more heavily scrutinized. I'd love to hear his explanation for that.

Mercury Bullet 09-18-2007 06:24 PM

I think it's just this, McNabb is on the decline and like most people in his situation he is shoveling off the blame. A lot of people would probably just blame teammates or the coach, McNabb has just decided to play the race card. In his mind its not that he isn't playing well, it's just the media views his performance more negatively because he is black, and black quaterbacks are always viewed negatively.

Which is a complete load of crap.

VonErichLives 09-18-2007 06:49 PM

where's Rush Limbaugh to say "told you so"

Skippord 09-18-2007 09:16 PM

stuffing his face with painkillers

I think it was last season when that idiot Rush Limbaugh said people overrate McNabb because he is black

Now McNabb is an idiot for saying this, everyone was loving him last year when he was tearing it up before he got hurt.

CSL 09-19-2007 10:59 AM

So are the Falcons gonna let Leftwich wear 7?

CSL 09-19-2007 11:01 AM

Scrap that. Just read he'll wear #4.

VonErichLives 09-19-2007 02:16 PM

7mil over 2yrs, if that more then Joey's getting?

SammyG 09-19-2007 09:33 PM

LOL, T.O. fined #7,500 for this.

The NFL worried Billy might cry or something?

Crimson 09-19-2007 10:27 PM

No Fun League strikes again.

Mercury Bullet 09-19-2007 10:42 PM

Jesus, yeh, the NFL really needs to lighten up a little.

#1-norm-fan 09-20-2007 12:17 AM

No using the ball as a prop apparently. Ridiculous. And that has nothing to do with me being a Cowboys fan. I'd say the same thing if an Eagles player did it. So lame.

ball as a prop.. everyone gets nailed for that...

if nothing else TO should be fined for not waiting and doing that when he plays the Pats, then it would have been funny! :)

SammyG 09-20-2007 12:15 PM

Fuckin' NFL, Let the players have some fun, Jesus.

Supreme Olajuwon 09-21-2007 12:36 PM

He should've done it on the sideline. Then he wouldn't have been fined for it and it would've been more relevant to the situation. Come on TO.
