Vastardikai 12-18-2008 02:03 AM

Honestly, I think "See No Evil" would be epic if it had MST3K commentary throughout.

Destor 12-18-2008 02:15 AM

I love you St. Jimmy

St. Jimmy 12-18-2008 03:22 AM

Xero 01-11-2009 02:59 PM

Forgot how awesome MST3K was.

Nowhere Man 01-11-2009 03:03 PM

MST3K was the shit. I've watched some of the samples of their new thing, Rifftrax (which is pretty much just MST3K but with new movies), and it's hillarious too, but unfortunately you've gotta pay to watch the whole thing.

This site he posted shows one Rifftrax a day, 9pmest-ish. :y:

So, is it just me or does no one else really completely dig the Joel episodes?

Destor 01-19-2009 09:28 PM

I'm not too big on Joel, but Joel is better than no MST3K.

Alan The Rapist 01-22-2009 04:06 PM

Hodgson and most of the guys from the first half of the series are in a group called Cinematic Titanic. They rip on movies live for theater audiences.

Jeritron 01-24-2009 05:09 AM

I think it's basically my pastime. Me and a few of my friends do it regularly in his basement without even thinking about it. Thanks to Fearnet we've had so much more to work with too.

Reboot inbound. Joel is back in a writing capacity. Not confirmed who is the subject.

Reboot inbound. Joel is back in a writing capacity. Not confirmed who is the subject.

The new Satellite of Love prisoner character will be Jonah Heston, played by Jonah Ray.

Felicia Day will portray the daughter of Dr. Clayton Forrester, the show's original Mad, and her name will be Kinga Forrester.

Patton Oswalt will play 'TV's Son of TV's Frank', which I think explains itself.

The Bots, Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo, will be voiced by Hampton Yount and Baron Vaughn, respectively.

You can credit over 48,000 fans of the show for raising over $6.3 Million on Kickstarter for helping this 11th Season of MST3K to get made.

And various cameos from some MST3K Alumni are expected to happen.

=B

Swiss Ultimate 02-16-2017 09:05 PM

Yeah, been looking forward to it.

Destor 02-16-2017 09:08 PM

Im not ok with recasting of servo amd crow :'(

Swiss Ultimate 02-16-2017 09:15 PM

Well, yeah...but whatcha gonna do?

Destor 02-16-2017 09:20 PM

Well id say skip watching it but that would be a painful lie

Seanny One Ball 02-17-2017 04:17 PM

Patton Oswalt's involvement is just so freakin cool!
I cannot wait.

I watched Joel's last episode last night "Mitchell" and I have to say I love that Joel and Mike both got to do a Joe Don Baker riff. So many fat drunk jokes...
I'll be all over this reincarnation. MST3K was never on UK tv to my knowledge so at least now with the internet I won't miss much!

I love Joel. He has a very dry delivery and he is adorably awkward in the skits. I think Mike is a much more natural fit for the role but it cuts me up a bit reading how sour things turned before Joel ultimately moved on.
I think if you watch Mitchell and Final Justice consecutively you can really see the differences in their style given they are essentially riffing the same target. I hear Joe Don Baker was pissed about it too. Joel was staying in the same hotel as him once and hid because JDB had promised to kick his ass if he caught up with him.

I love the episodes where they riff movies with random famous people in them or their lesser known relatives. Joe Estevez and Sean Connery's brother spring to mind.
Anything with Robert Z'Dar is also a must watch.

Hobgoblins is the best bad film they riffed. The lengthy stick fighting scene had me in tears laughing.
Manos The Hands Of Fate and Monster A Go-Go are not as well riffed but are easily the most headscratchingly awful films they viewed.
I am also partial to the Chinese Planet Of The Apes rip off they did.

Seanny One Ball 02-19-2017 11:43 PM

I hear The Magic Sword and Diabolik are actually decent films so I have them to watch sometime too.

Destor 02-19-2017 11:47 PM

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians!

Also nearly any of the shorts they riffed. The 50s educational shorts rank highest for me.

Seanny One Ball 02-19-2017 11:49 PM

I don't know if I've seen any of those yet. Those are for episodes with shorter cuts of films though right?
Can you recommend any episodes with shorts?

Seanny One Ball 02-19-2017 11:53 PM

I have to confess that I only heard about this show from Saved By The Bell as a very young kid. I have a vivid memory of it being Screech's favourite show and I was heartbroken as a boy having no access to it.

I have tried without fail to get my friends into it but not one of them was interested.

Imagine dying without even seeing Hobgoblins once.
I am going to pick up the purposefully shit sequel they made. I heard the cast is back and they riff it themselves as a bonus feature.
I desperately hope that's true.

Seanny One Ball 02-19-2017 11:56 PM

Just saw that Hobgoblins 2 is a remake of the original with a new cast and the original line up actually do critique it in the bonus features.

Yes!
