Really demonstrates how far the reach is of WWE around the world.

50M plus is an incredible number.

Bad News Gertner 02-02-2017 11:27 AM

Been saying this forever: Battle Royal = ratings

#1-norm-fan 02-02-2017 11:32 AM

WWE getting DUMMIED on Youtube views and subs by Pewdiepie. The Youtube war has not been kind to them.

Evil Vito 02-02-2017 11:34 AM

I'm not too surprised at #1. A 40+ man battle royal is a very rare spectacle.

Maluco 02-02-2017 11:43 AM

If I'm not wrong, there are very few clips available on YouTube, so this does the actually mean that much.

The majority of big matches/moments are not on there.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-02-2017 11:46 AM

As they shouldn't be lol

road doggy dogg 02-02-2017 12:02 PM

If the Evolution Titantron video is eligible, I am responsible for at least 4,000 views of that alone. PUT IT ON THE LIST

WWE has loads of videos, thousands actually. These are from WWE's page. They add like 10 videos a day to their YouTube page. People had to actually search out these random-ass matches (India is probably to blame for Khali).

road doggy dogg 02-02-2017 12:09 PM

Cena was over af in that 17v2 match

Sixx 02-02-2017 12:12 PM

wow, khali made the list twice

SlickyTrickyDamon 02-02-2017 01:03 PM

Gotta call bullshit. No Pipe Bomb?

Lock Jaw 02-02-2017 01:44 PM

Did you really need to quote it?

Also, not really able to call BS on cold hard facts......

Did not realise that, was a while ago that I saw the list and it mentioned something about the lack of videos. Interesting that many of these have last such a long time in top 10.

I guess India explains Khali! That and the fact that people just love giants in general lol.

Can still remember as a kid being stunned at Giant Gonzalez, looking back now, I cringe!

CM Punk sucks. That's why.

Mr. Nerfect 02-03-2017 11:22 AM

Khali being a spectacle would also have something to do with it. I'm not sure how he would do as a compelling draw in 2017, but when you see this giant dude in Get Smart and find out he's a wrestler, your interest has to be piqued.

When you take off "wrestling fan goggles" and give everybody the same blank slate, yeah, he kind of does. He's eloquent on the mic, but he's this tiny dude without much of a physique. I'm not even sure if being eloquent on the mic is something a potential fan would be looking for. It's debatable Punk had anything for mainstream audiences.

In some ways, he reminds me of a less-crisp X-Pac. There's a Better Wrestler for you.

You could describe Bryan the exact same way. Except Bryan was less eloquent on the mic.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-03-2017 11:55 AM

Bryan was crisp af though

#1-norm-fan 02-03-2017 12:04 PM

Which matters WAY less to a potential fan than mic work.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-03-2017 12:04 PM

tru. I just felt it fair to say

Bad News Gertner 02-03-2017 12:21 PM

X Pac > CM Punk. X Pac actually got heat as a heel.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-03-2017 01:40 PM

X Pac was dope until around 2000. Like actually top notch. Just got stale unfortunately.

Destor 02-03-2017 01:40 PM

A list like this is meaningless really since a single person could (in theory) account for all the views. If this were 55mil unique views that would be something. For all we know some twat rubs one out to these every night before bed.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-03-2017 01:42 PM

That twat is me :(

Hmm, I dunno. Bryan had an energy that made his shit look *real*. Punk never had that. He pretended it was real, but it didn't come off as crisp. Bryan had a bit more credibility. His mic skills also weren't shocking. He developed a reputability and sincerity on the mic. I think people would rather hear a ranting Ultimate Warrior promo than a twenty-minute Triple H monologue. When you say "mic skills," it's quite a broad spectrum. People want charisma and credibility on the mic, I'll agree -- but I don't necessarily think they enjoy guys who enunciate clearly just for that very reason.

That being said, I do think Punk was a charismatic speaker. Ultimately Bryan was just better though.

#1-norm-fan 02-04-2017 03:55 AM

Bryan was never anywhere near as natural on the mic as Punk. At his peak he was still pretty awkward. Also, a potential fan knows it's not real. They want an entertainer. They don't care who "makes it look real" more. Punk was not that far behind Bryan in making his wrestling look real. He was MILES ahead of Bryan as an entertainer though.

Bottom line: If you think one of them "sucks", it's tough to make the argument that the other one sucks much less.

Personally, I liked both. But realistically, neither should have been more than a supporting act to the legit stars.

And yet Bryan became a Grand Slam Champion in like 3 1/2 or 4 years, and will be a first ballot HoF'er. Punk will also be a first ballot HoF guy, but I feel he's got a pretty significant edge in quality of title reigns, which may or may not be completely fair given that Bryan had to vacate the WWE and IC belts before he could ever really have a chance to shine with either if them, however in their own ways, both were fun to watch.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-04-2017 10:25 AM

lol a first ballot hall of famer. It's a fake hall of fame and nobody votes, you doorknob.

Ruien 02-04-2017 10:37 AM

Vince does!

You have just been STD corrected!

Hillbilly Jim is off the ballot if he doesn't get in this year

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-04-2017 11:36 AM

Hopefully that cajoles the members of the WWEWAA into giving him their vote. It'd be a shame for him to be ineligible.

#1-norm-fan 02-04-2017 03:53 PM

Wait... Hillbilly Jim isn't in the WWE Hall of Fame? How is that even possible???

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-04-2017 04:00 PM

He's part of the steroid era. Backlash from the journalist association.

Bad News Gertner 02-04-2017 05:10 PM

He didn't really have a high batting average either

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-04-2017 05:11 PM

did you see his WAR though? Actually that was pretty shit too.
