Marvel.com, Deadline.com, Hollywood Reporter have all announced the following cast members as villains in the film. The Hulk will also appear in the film.

• Cate Blanchett as Hela
• Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie
• Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster
• Karl Urban as Skurge

This is looking awesome. I've been waiting for Hela since the first movie, and Cate Blanchett is an absolutely fantasic choice.

Skurge's last stand is one of the most memorable moments in the history of Thor comics, and I fully expect them to do it here.

Thor is my favorite comic series, and I've been a little disappointed that his movies haven't been on the same level as other marbel films. They've been fun, don't get me wrong, but I'm really hoping that this is Thor's winter soldier.

They released concept art of Hela and that is looking like Hela.

Weird casting for Valkyrie, but guess I'll just wait and see before I start moaning.

My only guess is Valkyrie will be Heimdall's sister now instead of Sif. Which im fine with. Heimdall and Sif being different colors has bothered the hell out of me so im hopeful this will give me closure.

Natalie Portman reportedly will not be back for this installment. Cause you know, she can't be seen as a superhero actress. Solution, recast with Keira Knightly. Nobody will know the difference.

I would much rather them focus on sif and enchantress love angles than jane foster and portman is legit my favorite actress

I agree, not to many black people in Norse mythology, but then again it's mythological.

Why do people care so much of the color of someone's skin? It's fucking fictional. It's not like they have a black guy playing George Washington or some Asian as Martin Luther King Jr.

Seeing as they are Asgaurdian, you could make the argument that races work differently there.... Sif could still be Heimdals biological sister.

Are they Norse gods? Or are they worshiped as gods by the Norse? If it's the latter it's not surprising that the Norse would represent them reflected in their own image, much like Jesus as a blue-eyed white boy.

Theyve portrayed the races of other relms pretty consistently in the past, hence Hogan is asian (looking.)

Its a pretty big contradiction and i hope they remedy it by simply having Valk be his sister.

Or they can never bring it up ala Charles and Juggy.

Sif and Heimdall being related isn't even close to being as important as charles and jugg's relationship.

When it comes to main characters, I prefer them to be accurate to the source. I don't mind so much with supporting characters.

And sif is very much an integral character once you get into strictly asgard stories.

All depends on the story here. If Thor just cuts his hair "just because", it is bad...... but if his hair is cut against his will because he is stuck on a gladiatorial planet fighting The Hulk, then I will accept it....

nah, ultimate thor sometimes had a ponytail.

Ultimate thor had his hair burned off in ultimates 2, but it fit the whole downfall adpect of the story. He was meant to look pathetic, and humiliated.

Come to think of it, I wouldn't mind seeing Thor with short in the comics. I did a quick google search and couldn't find anything to show it's happened before, would be a refreshing little change, and it's hair, for Christ's sake it's not exactly a permanent change. I think it'd look pretty badass and I could imagine him "returning" or some nonsense in the middle of a huge end-of-the-world battle and have Wasp or someone be like "hey, I like the new look" or something.

Nah. Definitely a "thank god, I know this guy, there won't be any fighting here". I wouldn't be surprised if the "I know him from work" line isn't in the finished movie though.

It looks like they might have made a legitimately good Thor film (as in one that sits amongst the most popular MCU movies rather than soundly a step behind the top picks).

Is Mark Ruffalo going to be in this? I just hope there is some storytelling about how Hulk got to space in the first place. I imagine they would have to do this considering the Planet Hulk story arc was launched from the Civil War.

He's last seen in the quinjet. I assumed he flew it into space figuring he was too dangerous to be around, maybe hit a black hole or something and poof, he's in outer space.

well, he also does the motion capture and they mix his voice with ferrigno's.

The Quinjet crashed in the sea. I'd guess he was teleported out by Sakaar forces.
