The Real Battle Mode hasn't even come yet. It could be turnbase, Super Effective, traditional Pokemon.

Wish I choose Team Yellow. All the gyms by me are controlled by Blue or Red and when Blhe controls it I can't grt any experience from it.

You can if the team was smart enough to have a shitty first pokemon as a defender and you are part of the team. You can beat the first guy get XP and raise the gym XP too.

I did that but only re eived 10 exp when winning.

Only at a gym currently. Soon though they will be adding a battle system where you can fuck up your friends.
