Can someone fI'll me in on why this game is awesome? I played it but wasn't able to use my pokemon to battle. Can you battle?

Also, how long will this fad last? This is all over my Facebook. At least I don't have to read about Hilary or Donald anymore.

It will last till people start getting killed/kill someone trying to catch a mewtwo that is in the middle of a busy intersection.

I am yet to really understand how this game works. Haven't caught a thing yet.

But my work desk is within range of a Pokestop, so I have a lot of balls.

Some harder pokemon can escape from traps need to do it a few times to catch em.

And don't go to points in the middle of nowhere. You might get robbed.

Managed to catch a few things now. Although annoyingly seem to find much better pokemon while driving. Think this game might kill me.

Everyone at work is playing this and kept asking me about it since I'm a "nerd" and play video games and were surprised when I said I haven't played it and aren't interested in it.

The original Gameboy pokemon games were the only ones I liked.

Exactly but I think Slicky means liking video games. I do like video games but people aren't going to be talking about Shadow Warrior, Hatred or Dirty Bomb (To name 3 last games I played on steam).

Decided to give this game a real shot. Level 3. Have a bunch of lame pokemon. Did catch a Zubat though. He's only semi terrible.

As popular as this game is, it seems like it is even more popular to announce you don't play it, and shame people that do. Lots of "turn in your man card" memes and shit.

I have a handful of friends who have served in the marines. They all love the game. I would pay money to see one of those keyboard warriors to walk up to one of them and tell them to "turn in their man card". Lots of money.

I mean, they wouldn't actually do it. Because anyone who needs to follow a bunch of made up rules on what to like and what not to like just to justify their manhood, is an insecure little bitch, and wouldn't have the guts. A man can dream though.

Hell, this game is amazing. Getting ready to do some gym battles soon. I have no idea how half of it works but it is fun. It isn't eating my wireless data like I figured it would.

Caught a fn Eevee and Mewoth but the game glitched out so I didn't get credit for them.

never was interested in Pokemon and have no interest in the game, props to Nintendo from coming up with it though, it literally saved their company bumping their stock price like 25% the first day it was released.

I'm the same a Nicky Fives. Never was into the Pokemon and don't plan on playing this but I think it's a great concept for a Pokemon game.

People should be respectful of someone else's yard. You don't need to get on th le lawn to tap the pokemon.

Should be able to restrict the Pokemon you can see to a certain area. I couldn't just show up on anyone's farm and expect to kill a deer just because I seen one on the farm.

People just need to follow the law. Personal property and focus on traffic.

And then theres video of a million people swarming central park to catch vaporeon. Ridiculous.

They should have a version called Digimon Stop! Where the app uses your phone number to have Digimon randomly call you throughout the day and night depending on your location and time of day. You cant miss the call or you'll miss catching the digimon. The people playing Digimon characters would be some call center people from India.

I was way more into Digimon than I was Pokemon as a kid.

Caught a few Pokemans at work... work is also a Pokemon Gym, but I haven't leveled up enough to compete yet....

Haven't really gone "walking out of my way" to "hunt" Pokemans.....

I've not played it, nor do I have any interest in playing it. I loved the original Game Boy games back in the day, but haven't really played any video games/mobile games or whatever for a good six or seven years.

The problem with this game is that people, as always, cannot be trusted to not do stupid things or go to stupid lengths. I wouldn't want people walking all over my yard over a fucking video game, but you know that countless players couldn't care less about other people's property if it meant catching Dugtrio.

It's only a matter of time (if not already) that there really will be widespread violence and ridiculous chaos over these things. People just cannot be trusted.

And as for people that are defending this game, whilst I do understand and agree that it is great that it gets people outside the house and "socializing with members of the community"... this ultimately means fuck all because this is no different than your typical socializing today. You go out the house, everyone's staring at their fucking phones. Fucking people.

Ultimately I guess people playing this aren't doing me any harm and I couldn't give a shit. Just don't expect any sympathy if you crash your car playing it, or walk off a cliff, or get assaulted by someone for trespassing on their property.

Rsmm, it gets people actually walking outside. That is a huge plus.

Pretty sweet my workout gym is a pokemon gym too.

Which is definitely a huge positive, which I acknowledged, but it's when it gets people walking on peoples property, walking in front of traffic, or generally "socializing" but really, just staring at their phones like they always do.

Really, this is probably more to do with my issues with modern technology and how disconnected people have become.

My son and I found a spot where 7-8 Pokestops are located within walking distance and by a creek. We have done this routine 4 times in the last week. Going outside and interacting with people isn't my cup of tea, but everyone I've encountered has been friendly and mindful of each other when it comes to safety.

Until Google gets their act together with the info breach on Androids, staying off this.

It all really depends on how the game itself works out when Battles are implemented. Also socializing and trading will also be another stage.

It could come back to popularity in Spring time. It'll be done by Halloween at the latest in colder places.

Originally when this first came out, I assumed it was like some kinda real-world-based game where, for example players A and B both have a pokemon pop up on their screen, player A catches it, and player B therefore has missed out. So in a way every app is "connected". I was dreading thinking this is gonna legit lead to people stabbing others to prevent them getting certain pokemon etc.

I'm glad that's not the case, but hopefully it'll never evolve to that point.

I catch/see enough pokemon in my house and at work anyways. Sure it is slower but you don't NEED to really walk anywhere to enjoy it.

But unlike Facebook, Twitter, and all that you need to actually speak to someone about what you have going on. Sure they are using their phones but they are outside next to each other. I am sure there is verbal communication going on.

The battle mechanics are absolute horseshit. Not sure why, surely would have been easier to go with a turn based mechanism anyway?

Meh. It's new and fun. Have to evolve with the times. Look st Final Fantasy games for example.

Turn based is still great, plenty of games still use it well.

Fuck forcing everything to be "action" because that's what the "masses" want.

The Real Battle Mode hasn't even come yet. It could be turnbase, Super Effective, traditional Pokemon.

Only Geodude I got was from hatching an egg. It hits fairly well in battle need some more.

Wish I choose Team Yellow. All the gyms by me are controlled by Blue or Red and when Blhe controls it I can't grt any experience from it.

You can if the team was smart enough to have a shitty first pokemon as a defender and you are part of the team. You can beat the first guy get XP and raise the gym XP too.

I did that but only re eived 10 exp when winning.

Once your special is up tap and hold to use it.

Hatched a Snorlax. Fucking win.

Damn. Takes so much experience to level now. How do you level up at a quick pace after 15?
