DAMN iNATOR 09-06-2018 02:36 AM

Rough way to start the season, but a win's a win.

Also, LOL @Shisen calling out MSU losing to CMU whenever that was, as if it was somehow worse than losing to App State.

Frank Drebin 09-06-2018 05:41 AM

Can't wait until Northwestern torches those overrated Spartans again.

DAMN iNATOR 09-08-2018 10:24 PM

LOL Purdue.

Bad News Gertner 09-09-2018 07:27 AM

Lol we didn't do much better last night unfortunately.

Tom Guycott 09-11-2018 02:51 AM

The 'guins aren't likely to make a great showing this year. Lost a heartbreaker to Butler in the opener at home, and put up a good fight in the first half against West Virginia to ultimately get their asses waxed in the second half by a Top 25 team that clearly outclassed them. No matter how "good" the team is, two losses to start is quite the hole to rebound from, even in 1-AA.

But those Buckeyes look pretty good thus far...

Tom Guycott 10-01-2018 06:27 AM

... and now, weeks later, they don't look as good. Mighty struggle against Penn State, even without the whack-ass, inconsistently called penalties. It's a good thing their coach helped us out with dumb calls that played right into our hands.

Simple Fan 10-01-2018 10:02 PM

Well Louisville has one of the worst teams they've had in years. Like Kragthorpe era bad. Had the game won against Florida St. and for some reason decided to throw the ball inside 2 minutes which got picked off. FSU went on the score and win.

owenbrown 10-03-2018 10:10 AM

Nobody mentioning the fact that Kentucky is 5-0?

Ahhhhhhaaaa... I see what you did there!

Frank Drebin 10-13-2018 03:52 PM

Huge Northwestern comeback win. Down 10 with 4 mins left. Scott Frost and the Huskers are 0-6.

Northwestern has basement dweller Rutgers next week, then will play Wisconsin likely with the division on the line.

Go Michigan tonight.

How's it feel knowing the same team you "torched" did the same to soon to be exact-#8 Penn State?

Frank Drebin 10-14-2018 12:06 AM

Like we can Penn State.

"The Boy King" has a lot of rebuilding to do. Should have stayed at UCF. He'll get more leeway and patience because of his history in Lincoln, but it's fucking Nebraska. In the Big Ten. Ever since joining the conference, they've had delusions of just running roughshod and having success to rival the current version of Alabama. Instead, they're the western conference Rutgers. Nobody really worth a damn wants to go to Nebraska; be it the school or the state. Even just counting the conference, Wisconsin and Iowa have the talent pedigree consistently be competitive and dangerous, Xichigan and Sparty have name recognition (which was a slow build over time for Little Brother), and Northwestern is a wildcard that is either full of exeptional talent or... not. The fact that Nebraska sucks worse than Illinois and Minnesota is telling. Keeping Frost as a fixed point *might* help, and they have nowhere to go but up now, but they have fired coaches for far less (one of which was because they didn't win a national championship... wow, how quaint that thought is now).

That school should be *allowed* some leeway for illegal recruiting. Aside from the "prestige" of saying you were one of the Blackshirts on the D-line, there is really nothing appealing for a potential athlete.

*addendum: you know, I actually forgot TTUN is in the East now? I was thinking of the whole Leaders/Legends shit still, where both teams could potentially play one another twice in a row if both schools had winning records... but that never worked out. My bad. I also fucked up with State, and was under the assumption that Purdon't was still on schedule to get annually anally waxed by Ohio State. Doesn't matter, because Purdue doesn't matter.

Frank Drebin 10-15-2018 02:03 PM

Frost also had like 20 players transfer so this shouldn't be too surprising. I think they expected to beat Troy at home at least.

I'll give you that Neb has been seriously broken for a while now. Like, not even contending for anything past a low tier bowl game.

Tom Guycott 10-17-2018 12:45 AM

Unenviable positon. Frost could either stay at a school flooded with talent and perpetually get the Boise State treatment (never breaking into the top 5 no matter how good they got because they don't make money), or go to a historic school that sucks copious amounts of ass and try to rebuild it from the ground up to be the best team in the Big Ten before the boosters fire him.

Frank Drebin 10-17-2018 06:48 AM

And therein is the rub. If he succeeds at Nebraska, he's gonna get paid right up there with Saban (11 mil) or at least Dabo (8). For doing nothing he's already getting 5 mil a year for 7 years. He was making 1.7 at UCF.

Tom Guycott 10-20-2018 10:54 PM

Speaking of rub... fuck.

This is just disrespectful. Did the defence of both teams switch fucking jerseys tonight?

I liked the Boilermakers better when they didn't play like they're Wisconsin all of a sudden. It isn't helped by the other side of the ball shitting the bed with miscued throws all night.

Maybe Urban should've stayed suspended...

Tom Guycott 10-20-2018 10:55 PM

At least they FINALLY found the goddamn end zone

.... but it was just negated by letting them march the other way unoppsed. The fuck?!

I get Bosa is gone for the year, but my god, he wasn't the whole D.

This is going to be a long fall from two.

Simple Fan 10-21-2018 12:10 PM

Some talk of Louisville going after Brohm but I don't see them getting rid of Petrino. He's got like a $17 million buy out and they've lost alot of money through the basketball scandals.

Purdue has beaten 3 ranked teams now. They have a chance to go to the Big Ten Title game. Need a Northwestern loss tonight.

Frank Drebin 11-04-2018 01:08 AM

Lol....a non conference loss means as much as an Eve Torres women's title win in Saudi Arabia right now.

Thanks for the big dub, rp.

Frank Drebin 11-04-2018 01:11 AM

Hell....lose to Iowa and beat Minnesota and Illinois and you still go to Indy.

Frank Drebin 11-04-2018 01:12 AM

Rp

Why don't you just meet me in the middle

Sepholio 11-04-2018 12:22 PM

Uhg…..We gonna have to beat Alabama in the SEC title game. Brutal. Gonna laugh if ND or Michigan takes a L and we end up with Bama and UGA in the playoff again.

Either way I think Clemson has it on lock this year. That offense is potent.

Tom Guycott 11-04-2018 11:09 PM

I'm upset in the turn of events.

I can see Penn State giving problems, but a loss to Perdon't and a close game with goddamn Cornholers? The entire defense has progressively played more and more like shit as the season progresses. The potential for overcoming the upcoming showdown Sparty or not is one thing, but they'd better not lose to TTUN.

We fired Tressell for this??

That's just it: Xichigan needs to lose The Game. That would likely get Harbaugh run out of town, and that's not an exaggeration. Coaches on both sides have lost jobs over their record in the rivalry no matter how well they've played otherwise. Even if they do the unthinkable, there is the matter of the Big Ten Championship game they'd have to win as well to remain in the playoff picture.

Simple Fan 11-04-2018 11:30 PM

Hopefully you Big 10 guys won't have to deal with Purdue and Jeff Brohm any more. I was against firing Bobby Petrino at Louisville but this team is historically bad and seem to have give up. It's hurt recruiting and the freshman QB just transferred out. If Bobby can't keep QBs its time for him to go.

Still doesn't excuse shitty play by the Buckeyes. They deserved to lose because their defense was uncharacteristically porous. It was nice of Perdue to play angry for once instead of laying down like so much Rutgers, but goddamnit!

Frank Drebin 11-10-2018 07:19 PM

Big Ten West Division Champs. Going to Indy as a travel destination in December! See you all in hell! Go Cats!!!!

SlickyTrickyDamon 11-10-2018 10:53 PM

UMass 2-0 woo

Frank Drebin 11-11-2018 12:58 PM

Big Ten Championship refs are going to be brutal towards NU. No way the Big Ten wants NU to win that game especially if it would prevent Michigan/OSU from getting into the playoffs.

Rooting for an upset of one or both of those two, then the lower ranked of the two winning The Game.

rez 11-11-2018 02:21 PM

F off, Louisville. Stay away from Brohm.

-.-
