And he can do that forward flip twice and I was pressing every buttn to figure out how to do I but never did it

Kalyx triaD 12-22-2010 11:01 PM

There's a a lot of mechanics I simply do not agree with. Still feels like an unfinished game. Ugh. The online set-up is ass, even worse than SF4.

How long before I can afford cool items to dress up people? Where do I go to earn money anyway?

RoXer 12-22-2010 11:03 PM

In that lame single player mode where you travel around to different arcades.

Kalyx triaD 12-22-2010 11:14 PM

Fuck that.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-23-2010 04:16 AM

Arghhh, why am I at my mums for Christmas when the new Virtual-On hits the net.

People who send friend requests to you just because you were on the same winning team as them. We didn't even chat, coordinate, or anything. C'mon.

Columbus Nova buys out Harmonix from Viacom and MTV Studios for an undisclosed amount and years.

As part of the deal, Viacom and MTV Studios gave away the Rock Band and Dance Central properties for Harmonix to own. The new owners have also green lighted Harmonix to continue working on both series for future releases.

Harmonix is expected to stay as an independent studio but with Columbus Nova as their main distributor. CN not expected to actually be involved in game development or company decisions as part of the new deal. It would be similar to Ubisoft and EA only being distributors for games from Japan (Ubi) or Valve (EA).

In other news, people started to compare the videos and graphics of PS3's version of Mass Effect 2 to the older Xbox 360 version and found out the Xbox 360 version looks better.

Of course, the differences are marginal and based on what you use for comparisons but it does show EA can't do a clean port of the game while the ME3 engine does have some differences when used to port the previous games in the series.

I've heard this is partially due to the fact that the engine is built on the Unreal engine, which from it's initial design, works better for the 360. I've seen the side by side, and the differences are really minimal. I'm really not a fan of the stupid "comparisons", since the differences are usually so small that no one gives two shits.

Emperor Smeat 12-23-2010 10:14 PM

It also helped that during the creation of the 360, Epic was asked for advice and they wanted more RAM to make ports easier since the 360 structure was already similar to the PC unlike what the PS3 had for RAM and structure.

Only reason everyone goes to EA to port the Unreal engine is due to them having the experience and the tools needed to do as clean of a port as possible. Valve using EA for games on the PS3 occurred for the same reason once EA was able to adjust the Half-Life engine after a few years for PS3.

Motorola wants a ban or temporary stop on all Xbox 360 hardware sales after it filed a complaint to the ITC dealing with Microsoft potentially violating several patents of Motorola.

This move appears to be a counter from earlier in the year when Microsoft sent a complaint about Motorola charging unfair amount for royalties for their parts.

The US International Trade Commission could issue a temporary restraint on sales similar to when Nintendo was under investigation involving the Classic Controller. At the time, Nintendo stopped producing the controller and when the lawsuit was tossed out, resumed production.

US ITC won't announce its ruling and any order to halt production of Xbox 360s until early 2011.

A number of PS3 owners have been furious at Activision and Treyarch over getting what they believe is a buggy, inferior version of Call of Duty: Black Ops. While the publisher may wish to ignore these angry gamers, it would appear that Trading Standards backs them up. Sort of.

In fact, the UK trade authority said that any buggy game deserves a refund, which means that titles like Fallout: New Vegas are also legally obliged to stump up the cash if a customer is angry enough. If you think a game shipped with bugs, you can take it back to the retailer and get your money back.

Unfortunately, and this is what most gamers won't understand, if you keep playing the game you can damage your complaint: "If consumers wish to exert their statutory rights, they should stop using the game immediately as if they continue to use it they might lose the right to reject it and might then be entitled only to damages"

It's really a common sense issue, but that's the thing about righteous gamers -- they don't seem to exert much of it. They will bitch that Black Ops is "inferior" and broken, but they'll keep playing it anyway. Same for boycotters. Gamers aren't going to get anything if they keep demonstrating they don't actually have any principles.

He has it. I have BlazBlue: CT. Waiting for a price drop for CS after their lack of information on a Canadian release/massively delayed release of CT ended with me paying $124 for it.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

cool I wonder what special characters will be on there.

Kalyx triaD 12-26-2010 06:18 PM

Honestly I rather they have extra Bonus characters rather than guests. But if it's gonna happen, hook up with Square Enix. They got some weapon swingers.

Cool King 12-27-2010 01:22 PM

EA are giving away Burnout Paradise for free, apparently.

http://eastore.ea.com/store?Action=D...oppingCartPage

You have to sign up first though, if you don't already have an account with them.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-27-2010 01:28 PM

Yeah, it's in the Steam thread and only for UK.

Bought it for £3.50 like the day I found out about it. Oh well, Steam > EA Download Manager at least.

Boomer 12-27-2010 01:38 PM

You can use a UK proxy to get it. I did it, and had no problem linking it to my US account.

Kalyx triaD 12-27-2010 02:39 PM

Finished Bayonetta's Normal mode (after replaying most of the stages many times). Hard mode is worthy of the title. Much more satisfying, though.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-27-2010 02:48 PM

Too many things came out during my hard mode effort. Might have to give it another crack.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-28-2010 01:13 PM

Fire Pro XBLA is coming to the west, but it's avatar only fighting.

Xero 12-28-2010 01:32 PM

Yeah, but what's the gameplay like?

Kalyx triaD 12-28-2010 03:19 PM

Even stripped down, it might be fun.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-28-2010 03:55 PM

No, exactly. It's the first 3D Fire Pro and if the gameplay stays the same (and my avatar can still have a Deadly-Go-Round finisher) then it's all good.

Fignuts 12-28-2010 04:48 PM

Not for me. Too spoiled by FPR and KOC II. I want a new, all out puro game. This thing really does nothing for me.

Hopefully it does well though, and gives them reason to make a real fire pro.

http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets...00x_zapper.jpg

Quote:

The Zapper really only consisted of two working parts: The trigger, and a photodiode. When the trigger is pulled, the photodiode kicks into gear, recording light levels from your television screen (usually, at least.) Once the NES realized you were firing, the entire screen would go black for a single frame. On the next frame, the area your target duck was in flashed white. If the photodiode registered the change from black to white, that meant you were pointing the gun in the right direction. For multiple targets, multiple target frames flash in sequence, telling the game which target was hit.

Leaked playable Zelda prototype!

http://forums.lostlevels.org/viewtopic.php?t=2471

Fignuts 12-29-2010 04:58 AM

Kind of at a loss as to why everyone is going apeshit over that.

I honestly don't think an easy version of zelda, with mismatched bgm is anything to go nuts for.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-29-2010 05:41 AM

It was an unexpected surprise. Loads of us go apeshit over lots, I've got close to 100 Sonic prototypes.

Fignuts 12-29-2010 05:47 AM

Never even knew this prototype subculture existed.

#BROKEN Hasney 12-29-2010 05:55 AM

Yeah, the holy grails right now are Resident Evil 1.5 and Sonic Xtreme. There was a tech demo leaked of the latter, but Resident Evil is a totally different game to what was released.

The only two I've really known about was the cancelled Sonic one and what Comix Zone was going to be.
