But each film will have a cameo by Batman or Superman. :D

I was talking about that last night to someone

I think Batman is just a better and easier story to tell, not to mention the actors they gotten to play Batman and other characters in the universe (Liam Nesson) have been great

Boondock Saint 05-02-2008 02:40 PM

They've been trying to get a Wonder Woman and Flash movie going for years, things just don't come together.

As for Marvel, after Iron Man, Hulk and Punisher, the only movie they've got slated officially for release is Wolverine for next summer. Nothing else is planned beyond that.

Lock Jaw 05-02-2008 05:26 PM

Marvel has more planned. I mean, they have movies for Ant-Man and freaking Shang-Chi planned. Marvel really is better in the "give everybody movies" department.

DC needs to get on this. I want to see a Spectre movie. But only if they make it good.

That'll never happen.

DC News Time Warp:

From Beetlejuice to Batman?!?:

Michael Keaton [Beetlejuice, Clean and Sober] has been cast as... wait for it... Batman. Yes, Tim Burton [Director] appearently digs him from his experience in Beetlejuice and believes he has the ability to convey his version of the Dark Knight.

http://www.movieactors.com/freezefra...ejuice184.jpeg

The Beetlejuice guy? Really? I like the movie but c'mon...

Word is Jack Nicholson [The Shining] was approached a while back, but has yet to be signed pending "several demands". Here's hoping he gets on board, Jack is the man. Still, if I see Paul Reubens as Robin or Batman crack a Beetlejuice line I'm gonna walk out of the theater. Let's pray Tim Burton does justice.

The Dark Knight Will Be a Long Night?:

Reports are claiming that upcoming Batman film will clock in at 152mins. By comparrison, Batman Begins was 140mins. Not that I mind. And coming to a bus-side near you:

Heath Ledger died and he still gets third billing behind Alfred? Jesus.

Rammsteinmad 06-15-2008 11:27 AM

2 1/2 hours?! I doubt I'll be going to see that one then. :(

Loose Cannon 06-15-2008 01:41 PM

what else are you going to do in that 2 1/2 hours? come on

Well its not like its a no name playing alfred... its fucking Michael Caine!

U-Warrior 06-15-2008 02:23 PM

Yeah, and the lead role always gets first billing.

Mr Regal 06-15-2008 03:05 PM

Caine was awesome in Batman Begins.

I Go For The Trailers...:

Rumored trailers preceding TDK are Watchmen, Dragonball, Star Wars Clone Wars, Harry Potter 6, Terminator Salvation, and Body of Lies.

Blitz 07-08-2008 10:33 PM

Really hoping for a Watchmen trailer. The rest are just gravy :y:

Ignorance Remains Bliss:

IGN just posted an article that a TV show based on a young Bruce Wayne was nearly a reality. It was whispered about in the late 90's/early 2000's but was shelved when superhero movies made their comeback with Blade and X-Men. I guess in all fairness the decision gave us Batman Begins, but that was in 2005. Had the show come to be we would have got a good number a seasons, and maybe various crossovers with Smallville (Hercules/Xena).

The show would have had a young law student Harvey Dent, med student Harlen Quinzelle, Dt. Jim Gordon, possibly a child Barbara Gordon, and an angry comic named Jack Napier.

That show would've rocked.

Reavant 07-13-2008 10:55 PM

bruce needs to make an appearance in smallville here pretty soon

Kalyx triaD 07-14-2008 01:15 AM

Doubt it, for the same reasons Diana didn't show up.

Blue Demon 07-16-2008 08:59 PM

Saw the new Batman movie....yes it is 2.5 hours long. It was awesome. Enough said.

Kalyx triaD 07-25-2008 04:21 PM

Brave And the Bold Trailer:

<embed src='http://videomedia.ign.com/ev/ev.swf' flashvars='object_ID=14245048&downloadURL=http://tvmovies.ign.com/tv/video/article/893/893644/BraveBold_Comicon_072408_flvlowwide.flv&allownetworking="all%"' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='433' height='360'></embed>

I like seeing the new Blue Beetle animated but this is the kind of Batman I hoped never to see again on TV. It looks insulting even next to other kid-focused programs.

Lock Jaw 07-25-2008 05:04 PM

Kite-Man? Seriously? That's not a good sign.

Kalyx triaD 07-26-2008 11:03 PM

Wonder Woman Animated:

The next DC Animated DVD will be about good old Diana, in an origin story that presents her as young and adventurous. They'll hoping it to be the Wonder Woman movie, striking cords in girls the way Superman and Batman does for boys (though I personally believe good movies are beyond gender tastes).

Yes; Bruce Timm and Andrea Romano are behind this (father and mother of the DCAU). So everything's cool.

Kalyx triaD 07-26-2008 11:08 PM

DC Universe Welcomes...:

In the comic realm of things, DC has recently aquired Archie and Milestone comics. Their characters will slowly be integrated into the official DC Universe. For Milestone, this means Static Shock (who was apart of the DC Animated Universe) will be coming over as an official character. Hell, he's already planned to join the Teen Titans.

Lock Jaw 07-27-2008 05:23 PM

I always loved the old DC/Milestone Worlds Collide crossover. Wonder if the characters will remember it or if it has been retconned.

Kalyx triaD 07-27-2008 05:36 PM

Most likely retconned, those guys will have updated origins in line with the current DCU.

Mr. Nerfect 07-27-2008 07:25 PM

Wonder Woman is probably the only DC character I'd be interested in seeing a movie for. That and perhaps the Justice League.

Smallville Gets Serious:

With a show people are saying is limping a season or two too long, you gotta wonder how it will handle the crushing blow of Lex Luther leaving the show, along with Lana "Chun Li" Lang (yes I know the real actor's names, I just don't feel like spellng them). Well, at CC the handlers of the show revealed that new villains will arrive to fill the void (two for the departure of one, Lex was a serious addition). One is a new character filling the 'blue colar' villain act, a role I had hoped would be Thalia Al Ghul; but is instead a new character for the show. The other is a paramedic, a truely nice guy by day...

And Doomsday by night.

Another tidbit is later in the season we'll get to see the Legion of Superheroes make a visit.

I love Smallville, and I gotta see how they manage out this season. It should be interesting.

Nowhere Man 07-28-2008 10:31 PM

I gotta admit, that sounds truly awful.

Mr Regal 07-29-2008 01:58 PM

Why is doomsday a paramedic?...that doesn't sound good, not good at all. Couldn't they have just made doomsday......doomsday.

Lock Jaw 07-29-2008 02:06 PM

They might as well, someone ends up in that hospital every episode.

Mr Regal 07-29-2008 02:08 PM

That is very true.

Kalyx triaD 07-29-2008 07:53 PM

I'm weary of the werewolf gimmick m'self. Might make for a good laugh, though.

Lock Jaw 07-29-2008 08:39 PM

The Legion showing up could be promising though.

I wonder if this means we'll finally get to see who'd win a race between the Flash and Sonic the Hedgehog (since his comic's an Archie property)
