Christians back in the WWE?

Does this mean E+C will get back together or are they now? They were hilarious

They are not reunited for the moment, especially as Christian represents ECW as the NEW ECW Champion, and Edge represents SmackDown! as the NEW World Heavyweight Champion.

Volare 05-07-2009 12:01 PM

The only time they've had contact on screen is Backlash after Christain won the ECW title.

Xero 05-07-2009 12:12 PM

I'd ask where you were the past few months, but it's ECW, so it's understandable.

Afterlife 05-07-2009 02:25 PM

After all, ECW is fun to watch.

Volare 05-07-2009 02:26 PM

Evan F'ing Bourne.

It's also the least-watched WWE program by a large margin.

Clearly they're doing something wrong.

<strike>Elija</strike>.... Jack Swagger, even mo' said.

Jeritron 05-07-2009 03:12 PM

That doesn't mean it's the reason why this guy has no idea that hes back in the WWE. He's been featured on Raw countless times, as well as promos they air for ECW during the programming. He was on Wrestlemania for crying out loud.
It's clearly just because this guy isn't following WWE. It's not an ECW problem.

Xero 05-07-2009 03:16 PM

True.

Jeritron 05-07-2009 03:17 PM

ECW is definitely the least watched for a reason. I'll agree there. It's a combination of:

a) a smaller roster, which lacks multiple big market stars. At a given time there seems to be one star they put on the show to "carry" the brand.

b) It's on Sci Fi channel

c) There is no real effort to solidify it as an equal brand of main event status on any split brand shows

d) There are no storylines or cliffhangers. It's straight up wrestling. This is a strength in many ways, but also a detriment from a ratings standpoint.

Still a good wrestling show though, in my opinion. Christian being as there is no real problem to me either, since he was reintegrated at an appropriate upper-midcard level. It's not a death sentence, since it seems to be a warm-up for being moved back into the other brands.
I see it as no different as when Matt Hardy, CM Punk, and others were moved to the brand. Christian is definitely "the draw" of the brand. They push and market it as such. I think it represents he's at an upper-midcard level, like Matt Hardy was. I don't see the shame in that, especially since I'm a realist and never expected Christian to return after 3 years and claim a spot higher on the card than when he left.

GD 05-07-2009 03:23 PM

Tommy Extreme!

Ain't no retiring.

GD 05-07-2009 03:24 PM

Plus, good wrestling shows can never be measured by ratings.

GD 05-07-2009 03:24 PM

At least the matches last longer than 5:00 minutes.

Also, I think, even though they get shitty ratings, that they should try and push for another 1/2 hour. It would allow them to add in some things like drama, but then they'd probably have to at least double the current ECW roster as well, just to give a sense of having a diverse roster that can compete with the other 2 WWE brands.

XL 05-07-2009 04:04 PM

Good point there.

I actually watched a full episode of ECW the other day and whilst the wrestling was good I felt they'd missed a trick by not allowing Christian to cut a promo - even a quick backstage interview or something.

I mean, the amount of time that is spent on the likes of HHH, Orton, Batista on Raw as a percentage of the show must be pretty big. You'd think the equivelant kinda time would be spent on building up Christian as the star on ECW.

Clearly they're doing something wrong.

Or your perpetuating of a negative stigma is working. It's got the best wrestling I've seen from any brand, so I'd say what they're doing is just fine.

Mr. Nerfect 05-07-2009 05:37 PM

The best movies are always the ones that make the most money, Afterlife, didn't you know?

I agree that it's the best wrestling on TV. But it isn't being bought by WWE fans.

So?

Xero 05-07-2009 09:33 PM

Soooooooo they're doing something wrong.

Afterlife 05-07-2009 09:36 PM

That's retarded. The show is fine. It starts at 10pm on a Tuesday and it's half the length of the other shows. Those are two strikes right there. That doesn't mean the show is bad, it means it's inconvenient.

Xero 05-07-2009 09:41 PM

I never said the show is BAD. But from a MAIN STREAM perspective, it is. And that's what WWE is, a main stream company, and thus, they're failing to attract their main audience to what they promote as a third brand.

That's not good.

The 10PM argument holds no ground because they were on at 9 for months.

I knew you'd blow off the 10pm timeslot, as if it had no effect on the show. But that's not much to do with the point, I guess. I just don't understand how it's bad, but it's not. It's Velocity. It's Heat. Until it gets the 2-hour equalizer, most fans will see it as lesser. That's a bad stigma, but it doesn't make it a bad show.

ECW: The land of Vanilla Midgets!

Droford 05-08-2009 12:13 AM

Christian is going to lose to Swagger at the PPV, who will lose to Dreamer before his contract runs out, who will be destroyed by Kozlov at the Great American Bash in Philly in July.

Its pretty obvious.

Oh, and Evan Bourne isn't the only reason to watch ECW...don't forget Matt Striker.

That's what they'd do if they still booked in advance and didn't change things all the time because the internet ( yet they say "net smarks" are a small portion of the audience that doesn't matter)

kinda funny the double speak WWE has...

Mr. Nerfect 05-09-2009 02:34 AM

How awesome would a TLC Match for the ECW Championship between Christian, Jack Swagger, Tommy Dreamer, Evan Bourne, Tyson Kidd & Paul Burchill be?
