Ok, it's unofficial. Now show some appreciation

Thank you Jinder. You were the final reason I stopped watching SD. Losing Mix, Bray, and everyone besides for AJ during the shakeup played a huge part but Jinder was the last straw.

All hail the Man of Pecs!
You ungrateful peasants should be falling to your knees in droves.

I like Jinder being chamo and think its fresh. If he beats Orton again with all this legend stuff they have going it could be big for him.

God Bless jinder

He's the people's champ. A lot better situation than Orton, Brock, or Cena

K, I'm all in on Jinder. Despite getting hotshotted with no build, guy has performed, and carried himself like a veteran main eventer.

I mean, he's as boring as Orton if that's what you mean.

Ezra 06-19-2017 12:19 PM

I love the way he can't stop his grins when he was talking on talking smack. You can tell he is having a blast.

Droford 06-19-2017 11:51 PM

He's bringing back the Punjabi Prison match

A+

Need a brazzers logo over that entire video, with the boxer rubbing Jinder's abs a the end.

Jinder's good in his role as an old school anti-American heel and all.

But I find it funny that WWE's way of appealing to India is by making an Indian a despicable anti-American heel.

lolWWE

Mad props to the guy for stepping up his game as champion and for the hard work he's put into his physique over the last year. I can look past the awfulness of him being a jobber for approximately forever to suddenly become champion, hell, he's got the muscle to at least seem like a guy who could put up a fight, but there's just something about him in the ring that I'm still not keen on. It's not that he's bad or anything, but there's just a rigidness in his movements that puts me off. I can't explain it, his body just seems "stiff" a lot.

drave 06-20-2017 05:24 PM

He still looks "green" for a "Champion".

To be fair, they did similar stuff with Great Khali while he was there till his face turn and becoming more of a comedic character.

rez 06-20-2017 07:14 PM

I wonder what our champ will have in store for us tonight?? Hopefully a grand entrance to celebrate him retaining.

Savio 06-20-2017 08:14 PM

I would like to see how his direction is after this Orton Feud

I feel like Khali was brought in as a monster heel and any appeal to the Indian market was just a plus. Whereas Jinder's push seems to be simply to appeal to the Indian market. Which makes the "India bad/US good" vibe odd.

This. I'd like to see if he can get some actual heat that isn't cheap.

All of this exactly, but I think it might be because he himself doesn't believe that his shackles are completely off, and for good reason, if history is any indication.

Mr. Nerfect 06-22-2017 10:31 PM

I didn't want to come in here and ruin anyone's Jinder party, but it seems mostly like objective criticism, so I will join in:

* I hate that they put the WWE Title on a jobber.

* I hate the condescending racism attached to getting a shitty Indian heel and just assuming it will galvanize an extremely complicated Indian market behind him.

* I hate that he's probably in the ten worst wrestlers in the company and has been skipped ahead of the line because he's shredded.

* I find his promos and ring work extremely bland and boring.

I cancelled the Network after he became champion. I used to keep it around for the classic stuff, but I cannot give them any more of my money. The message this sends me is that talent and continuity doesn't matter. I mean, sure, that's been the case for a long time now, but this was just one audacious move too many.

I'm sure Jinder is a great guy, and I'm sure he's having the time of his life right now. Good for him, sincerely -- but I can't watch it. For the sake of discussion with someone, I watched snippets of him on SmackDown. He felt very cold, and while his matches are constructed to be as "heelish" as possible, it lacks the melody of a true top heel act. Just because he slides off someone's shoulders after raking their eyes, it doesn't mean he's a great heel act. There's more to it than that, and Mahal just doesn't academically have it right now.

Ultimately, this thing seems like a giant miscalculation to me. I haven't watched SmackDown and it cost them my $10 a month. I can't imagine people sincerely really caring, and all the positives in here seem ironic in nature. I'd like to see that equate to huge revenue for them, but I don't think it will. Good for him and good for them if they prove me wrong. They've never pushed a chickenshit heel like this as the World Champ and have it work though, so I'm not holding my breath in anticipation of that.

I just read that SmackDown is squeezing a Battleground in there between Money in the Bank and SummerSlam. Good lord. I'd personally have Cena win the WWE Title as the free agent on July 7th SmackDown, show up with it on RAW a few times, tease something with Samoa Joe, and then beat Mahal at Battleground in his last showcase as a WWE main eventer. Then I'd consider reforming 3MB, because I truly think that was the best use of Mahal.
