Dance music is a sweeping generalisation. House and commercial trance are very big in the gay community, but Drum n Bass, Rave, Hardcore, Speedcore etc. really isn't.

Whenever I popped E it was usually at Trance shows where I could tell you SOOOOOO many stories of the gay shit I saw happening as opposed to House shows where it was more about the music and dancing.
