For anyone interested, the whole script for the Raw episode before this year's Rumble was recently leaked/released.

Biggest thing a few other places have noticed was that Heyman's and Rock's promos were all improvised and not on the script.

The abysmal promo Cena gave was because he tried to do the same although his original promo was on the script and was a lot different. Would also confirm the dirtsheets stories about backstage being pissed at Cena afterwards.

A few things from the dirtsheets recently:

Quote:

There is talk of Los Angeles not getting WWE SummerSlam in 2014. Madison Square Garden in New York City has been rumored as a venue. There is also talk of doing the 2015 Royal Rumble in either Los Angeles or Anaheim.
Quote:

PJ Braun, the professional bodybuilder and supplement entrepreneur who recently got engaged to WWE Diva Kaitlyn, was arrested on March 28th, 2011 in a steroid ring bust in Danbury, CT. Officers and agents found Percoset, Testosterone, Decadurabolin, Halotestin and Proviron (the latter four anabolic steroids, the former a pain killer). Braun was hit with a variety of possession charges. He got probation and community service once he completed a drug rehab program.
Quote:

Steve Austin said in his latest podcast on Tuesday that Vince McMahon is interested in appearing on the audio show. Austin said that the two of them are trying to sort out a time that would be good for both of them to record an interview for the podcast.
Quote:

A 13-year-old boy who killed his half-sister, practicing wrestling moves on her, will spend three years in a secure juvenile facility.

He was practicing moves like the "John Cena Slam" and the "Mark Henry Slam," named for wrestlers from World Wrestling Entertainment -- but there were no fake moves here.

The church members described Desvallons as a good kid, while Louis' stepfather reportedly called him disrespectful and argued that he'd do it again given the chance.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/1...n_4425353.html
WWE released an official statement siding with the judge who said the kid was fully aware he was hurting his sister and not playing fake wrestling.

Quote:

Even though Raw was in Daniel Bryan's home state on Monday night, WWE officials were not expecting the crowd to hijack the final segment of the show which was done to push the TLC pay-per-view.
Quote:

Goldust and Cody Rhodes versus Rey Mysterio and the Big Show versus the Real Americans versus Curtis Axel and Ryback in a four-way for the WWE Tag Team belts has been added to the TLC pay-per-view.
Quote:

The city of Philadelphia was reportedly very close to landing WWE's WrestleMania 31 but the main reason they didn't is because of the way they approached the bidding process. WWE felt like Bay Area officials were more inviting and wanted them to be there. Philadelphia officials approached the situation like they were doing WWE a favor by having WWE in their city. It's said that Philadelphia cost themselves WrestleMania due to their lack of interest. When it came time for various cities to push themselves to WWE, Philadelphia just didn't get the job done like the Bay Area and other cities did.

Brodus Clay's impending heel turn has really freshened him up to me. I've never been the biggest fan of the man, but he's showing that special flare that endeared himself to people when he first showed up on the scene. The way he works, the way he acts -- everything seems to work more smoothly as a bad guy.

Bad News Gertner 12-12-2013 06:28 AM

He's not bad in the ring at all as well. Had some good matches in NXT, and he was 50 pounds heavier. Like all bigger wrestlers he just needs to be with the right person in the ring.

Mr. Nerfect 12-12-2013 06:33 AM

I'm not trashing the guy's ring skills, just that as a heel he seems to have more fluidity between what he's doing. He's just more interesting to watch to me.

Mr. Nerfect 12-12-2013 06:52 AM

Random thought:

Is it just me or in a weird sort of way wouldn't Jack Swagger & Curtis Axel and Ryback & Antonio Cesaro make better teams than their current arrangements? Axel could really use someone to speak for him and he's got a "Real American" vibe about him. Ryback & Cesaro would be bizarre, but their power could be used quite effectively together in different ways. Their personality clash, with Ryback being a pretty straight-forward bully and Cesaro being a more cultured figure, could be quite an entertaining dynamic.

I don't know if I would actually swap them over in some sort of elaborate double-cross/face-turn scenario, but a Real Americans vs. The Swiss-Sin City Cyborgs feud could be great for a month or so. Or maybe Axel should just turn on Ryback and help The Real Americans win the WWE Tag Team Titles, leading to a Ryback face turn (he'd be a lot more valuable as a babyface, in my opinion) and him going on a mission to crush them.

Wrestling Observer and PWInsider on what the ramifications of AJ leaving means for everyone else on the TNA roster.

Quote:

Per Meltzer in the Observer, as soon as TNA got wind that WWE wasn't interested in AJ Styles, they decided to make AJ a really low offer, with the mentality that he'd have to take it since he had nowhere else to go and would just have to take what they offered him. Instead he just left.
WWE's offer was around half of what he makes in TNA which means TNA's current offer to him was a lot lower than what they were willing to offer for Hogan.

Quote:

It was noted that Styles' scheduled Q&A tour of the UK was pushed back due to a Diamond Dallas Page tour taking place around the same time but another reason for the delay is that TNA's lawyers sent legal letters to the promoters to make sure they weren't infringing on anything TNA owns rights to.

The main problem between TNA and AJ is money. TNA simply would not give him what he wanted. Now there's a feeling within TNA, with so many contracts coming up in the next year, that a lot of guys are going to end up singing deals for less than they were previously making just to keep their jobs. The feeling is if TNA wouldn't give AJ Styles more money, then they probably won't be giving any one else more money.

While Styles and the other well known names weren’t making huge money, they were making more than that so TNA is eager to cut their salaries. Meltzer said Sting and Kurt, who both make great money, may be the only exceptions to the rule.

I couldn't remember if that was the thing where three knockouts just opened up briefcases and one of them had the title in it and thus whoever opened that briefcase won the title.

Seriously, without exaggeration, might be the dumbest idea in wrestling history. A title changed hands via a game show segment.

Lock Jaw 12-12-2013 10:27 PM

I think that was one of them, but usually it is just they get a title shot. Four cases, one has a world title shot, one has an X-division title shot, one a tag team title shot, and one contains a pink slip.

Three guys in this graphic for this match that I have no idea who they are.

Last time I watched they actually had storylines from the top of the card to the bottom. To the point where they could actually fill a PPV with matches that had some story behind them. Which is something WWE hasn't been able to do in years. Even with twice as much television available to them.

#1-norm-fan 12-12-2013 10:57 PM

Wait, isn't a #1 contender contract for the X Division title in one of the cases? So why is the X Division champion in the match?

GD 12-12-2013 10:57 PM

I re-watched the Brock Lesnar versus John Cena match from Extreme Rules 2012. It was so unique and different. It felt like Brock Lesnar was genuinely beating up John Cena in the opening part of the match. It is one of my favorite matches of all time (top 20).

#1-norm-fan 12-12-2013 10:59 PM

Also there's no World Champion but one of the cases contains a #1 contender contract for the World Title and some of the guys competing to become World Champion are in this match.

That match was fucking incredible. They got so much sympathy on Cena that the crowd comepletely turned and started popping for him when he made his comeback. That moment when he hits Lesnar with the chain and "Hulks up" while the crowd is going crazy was awesome.

For some reason, this made me think of some spoof booking thing years back where RVD was all that was left of the entirity of (the real) ECW roster, booking team, stage & sound crew, and booked himself in a title unification match where he hit a 5 Star Frog Splash on himself to win (and if I remember right, he killed himself in the process, and that's how ECW folded).

With that said, if the X Division champ is the #1 contender, I'm pretty sure TNA would try to make the person have a match with themselves.

I really think the guy could make an amazing babyface. He's got a personality, it just doesn't really belong in serious heel characters. He's not great on the mic, but all he needs is an awkward line or two and he could charm his way into the hearts of millions.

Jack Swagger vs. Antonio Cesaro doesn't seem like something they would include at WrestleMania XXX, but I think they could go for Cesaro's biggest swing ever and try and create a moment. Cesaro swinging around Colter for a long time and then celebrating with Hulk Hogan as Real American plays could be a great moment too. Hogan probably can't wrestle, but he could endorse Cesaro as a true American hero and the strongest man in the world, brotha!

This is easily one of the stupidest things in wrestling. I don't mind the idea of there being three title shots on the line during a match. That's kind of interesting. But one of the winners, a superior athlete who defeats some of the other guys in the match and wins as much as anyone else in it wins, getting fired? Why would you fire a fucking winner?

Mr. Nerfect 12-13-2013 01:38 AM

If I were AJ Styles (and I'm definitely not...seriously), then I would accept the pay-cut from WWE and see it as a challenge to earn more money and prove my worth to the wrestling world again. I strictly say that as a fan, though. His body hurts and he has a family to support, so there's that -- but Styles has got so much skill and a weirdly marketable vibe that I believe he could move merchandise and be a fairly decent babyface for the company.

Mr. Nerfect 12-13-2013 01:47 AM

How's this for an idea:

The Real Americans tease a face turn heading into WrestleMania, where Swagger and Cesaro end up fighting The Shield a few times. Tensions between The Shield increase and it leads to Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns leaving Dean Ambrose to fend for himself, and Antonio Cesaro wins the US Championship. The next show, Zeb Colter reveals that when someone is a Real American, he controls their championships and all that, so he announces that Jack Swagger is going to go forward as the serving United States Champion. This doesn't sit well with Cesaro, which leads to the split between Swagger/Colter and Cesaro.

At WrestleMania, Cesaro defeats Swagger and proves that he deserves to be the true United States Heavyweight Champion of the world, and gets the backing of Hulk Hogan, becoming a mid-card babyface player on the rise.

I would love to see Christian get La Familia back together, and have Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins serve as his Christian-Heads.

I've got to be honest, I prefer the second-to-last one.

Do you think the WWE could use the change of logo to change up quite a few things aesthetically. For example, maybe they could create new logos for RAW, SmackDown and Main Event and make them feel a bit different? Some of the title designs could also be changed. A new United States Championship would be refreshing, and if one of my dreams comes true and Kharma returns and beats AJ Lee for the Divas Championship, then she could toss it down and restore the Women's Championship, complete with new design and new logo.

The Tag Team Titles are quite new, but they could use a re-design and a new logo. The United States Championship has been in use since as early as 2003, so freshening it up may not be the worst idea on the planet. The IC Title is a classic, but changing it up ever so slightly (perhaps keeping the white strap idea with a new plate) may not be terrible.

Basically, all new belt designs for the championships in the current landscape may not be a horrible idea.

Was just watching WCW AS YOU DO and my housemate came down to have her breakfast. Were just talking while it was on in the background and mid-scentence she just goes THAT'S TERRY CREWS. Had no idea he was in WCW.

They need to bring back Matt Hardy to tag with him.
