Sign the hottest free agent

You've been killing it lately and finally gotten the raise and promotion you've been working for. Vince McMahon and Mark Carano pass by you and McMahon peels off and starts a one on one, he tells you that you've got your finger on the pulse of the modern market and he wants to know who is the hottest free agent that he can get to debut tonight on TLC, who do you pick?

Jordan 10-22-2017 08:34 AM

I'd have Ricochet added to the Cruiser title and win the STRAP DADDY on the first night in the territory.

XL 10-22-2017 08:56 AM

What did you mean by “Free Agent”?

Ricochet for example is not a free agent, he’s contracted to Lucha Underground.

Rammsteinmad 10-22-2017 09:06 AM

Probably CM Punk to be honest. If that counts. Merchandise alone will probably make millions.

Ummm... yeah you're right but lets just say "someone who isn't signed to WWE".

Ruien 10-22-2017 10:10 AM

Ryback.

Jordan 10-22-2017 10:25 AM

I'd love to see Ryback get killed by Braun.

Destor 10-22-2017 11:46 AM

Danielson

Big Poppa Pump is your hookup.

Interview segment on Raw...chainmail at wweshop!

Maluco 10-22-2017 12:07 PM

Alternatively bring in Scotty with say, Nash, Booker and "The Icon" Sting...throw them together with a current roster guy...say Samoa Joe

I'm thinking some sort of main event level stable.

Count the money!

I've read he's on his way to WWE. About to finish up with NJPW or might already have and just has to wait until January for the Lucha Underground no compete clause.

Don't forget the swerve that will see Kurt Angle join.

Well it’s not January so he’s not a free agent. :p

You know who hasn't been given enough chances? Alberto Del Rio.

In this case I'd have to default to Kenny Omega. And since the initial scenario was for him to debut at TLC, he'd have to show up in some capacity for Balor/Styles. A triple threat between them would happen before long, and it'd be fantastic.

If we're eliminating anybody with contractual commitments to NJPW, LU, GFW, UFC or anywhere else.....shit, I guess Ryback would be the default choice. It's pretty slim pickings actually.

Anybody Thrilla 10-23-2017 04:26 PM

Skip Sheffield ONLY

Anybody Thrilla 10-23-2017 04:27 PM

Yup yup yup. What it do.

Vastardikai 10-23-2017 08:18 PM

It depends on my level of sadism that particular day.

If I'm feeling non sadistic, I'd say Odinson because he's a solid worker, a big guy, and has a great look.

If I'm feeling super sadistic, I'd say the Young Bucks to blow up their gimmick, kill them off as indy draws, and make them look like massive hypocrites (well, even more massive than they actually are.)

Outsider 10-24-2017 09:51 AM

I'd push him to sign someone I know on an inflated salary and split it 50/50.

Both be released quickly, but the buy out on the contact should be enough to make some money off this scam.

Lock Jaw 10-24-2017 02:11 PM

Curry Man.

I hear he is a hot free agent. (And spicy)

My Final Heaven 10-25-2017 02:11 AM

If this were a year ago, I would have said Ethan Carter III. Back whenever there was talk of WWE buying up TNA, Dixie Carter's nephew coming in and getting a mega Spoiled Heel push from the start would have made money. They could have even brought up Derrick Bateman in NXT, like he was trying to get a start without his family name before selling out. That boats sailed though, I think

Phenomenal 1 10-25-2017 02:44 AM

For me as far as work ethic, performance, and ability to draw attention to matches, I would have to go with Jay Lethal, he's one guy you can say never has had a chance to shine with the lights on bright on the WWE mega stage and i'd like to see what he would bring to the table.

If I had to pick a 2nd choice, Marty Scurll, his gimmick is just phenomenal.

Lock Jaw 10-25-2017 02:46 AM

Jay Lethal would just end up in a tag team with Cedric Alexander or Rich Swann

that's horrible booking, he could have some good fueds. If they put him on RAW you could have him vs Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt, even in the mid card i could see some teardown matches between him and the Miz, Jason Jordan, Cesaro.

On Smackdown I could run with Lethal vs Styles, Roode, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, Kevin Owens, or Sami Zayn.

Lethal brings alot to the table.

Pretty sure Lock Jaw knows that, but the penchant of WWE to just lump black guys together and call it a day (or call it a New Day) is steeped in history. Also, he's a lot like Daniel Bryan, and could potentially get over in spite of WWE not "seeing anything" there. Lethal would be one of those guys who get signed just so he isn't elsewhere unless he gets a daaaaaamn lucky break and not only a push similar to AJ Styles, but also not saddled with some stereotypical buffoonery or shoehorned into the 205 glass ceiling.

Jordan 10-25-2017 11:42 AM

Jay Lethal would be a good backbone in NXT. He could appear at the right time on the main, but I think he'd be perfect to train the younger workers and be a solid on NXT tv.

Mr. Nerfect 10-25-2017 08:45 PM

Well, here's a laundry list of my top ten:

1. The Rock
2. Ronda Rousey
3. Batista
4. Bobby Lashley
5. Jay Lethal
6. Christopher Daniels
7. Ryback
8. Jay and Mark Briscoe
9. EC3
10. Saraya Knight (for my dream feud with Paige)

Jon Jones is a good pick.

Heyman 10-27-2017 05:31 AM

I still think Jones vs. Lesnar would be a HUGE opportunity for the WWE. You'd attract MMA fans for Wrestlemania, and a Lesnar/Jones match would also attract main-stream attention.

Mr. Nerfect 10-27-2017 05:40 AM

Only if you built it up over the course of a year in WWE land. I think people would get whiff of it as a P.T. Barnum hoax if you brought them in for something against each other right away. Jones involvement is definitely good. If they had Jones for one match, I'd make it a tag team match with Jones and someone against Brock and someone. Maybe Jones & AJ vs. Brock & Joe? Something like that could be perversely...good, and you can heat up issues between Brock and Jones.

If you had Jones under actual contract, then I'd have him state he was training to become a wrestler so he could beat Brock in the WWE -- his own turf or whatever. Have Jones train for a year, beat the shit out of The Miz at a PPV, then beat Brock at WrestleMania. Title optional.

Heyman 10-27-2017 05:45 AM

I would agree with that line of thought if it wasn't for the fact that Jones has already called out Lesnar.

At the next WWE PPV, after Lesnar defeats whoever (Mahal?), I think it would be cool if Lesnar returned the favour by calling out Jones. After that, THEN you could do the 'slow build' between Lesnar/Jones over the next half year or so.

That's how I'd do it.

Mr. Nerfect 10-27-2017 05:54 AM

My only fear is that if Jon Jones shows up in WWE, people are going to say "Oh, they're doing that so that they can rig the fight." I think it is still easier to fool people with kayfabe than others make out (I've met people who buy into heel boxing and MMA acts). But I think the idea of the UFC to WWE switch just immediately sets off alarm bells.

As soon as I say that though, I feel dumb, because there's no way that Brock Lesnar vs. Jon Jones at WrestleMania does any worse than Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns or anything else they can muster up. I am tripping myself up. Yeah, they should probably just do it. Brock calls out Jones, Jones actually shows up and Brock spits in his face as security escorts him out or whatever. Jones is willing to do whatever it is he can do to earn a shot at Brock, even if it means enter the Royal Rumble.

It's really not that hard.

Mr. Nerfect 10-27-2017 06:05 AM

If you don't want to go with Brock and Jones in the title match, you can have Brock fuck Jones out of the Rumble somehow (ideally they wouldn't be touching, but whatever). Joe wins the Rumble in a bit of a shocker. At Elimination Chamber, which I think is a Raw PPV, Brock destroys everybody with suplexes until Jon Jones jumps off one of the cells onto Brock and beats the shit out of him. Cena hits his new finishing move, Daddy's Home, and gets the pin.

* John Cena vs. Samoa Joe for the Universal Title
* Brock Lesnar vs. Jon Jones
* The Four Horsewomen vs. The Four Horsewomen
* The Shield vs. Finn Balor, Sheamus & Cesaro (random awesome team)
* Kurt Angle vs. Daniel Bryan (Vince caves and lets Bryan wrestle)
* AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
* Triple H vs. Shane McMahon in a Street Fight
* Asuka vs. Kairi Sane for the RAW Women's Title
* Jinder Mahal vs. Big E for the WWE Championship
* Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs. The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles (turn Usos face)

If that were your entire card, you would be laughing.

Vastardikai 10-27-2017 07:54 AM

I was with you until I saw...

I mean, I can think of 2 guys Finn would be MUCH better off teaming with.

Mr. Nerfect 10-27-2017 08:33 AM

Nah, fuck Gallows & Anderson. Have Balor look like he's going to align with them, but he laughs it off and says he's in the big leagues now, so he found some big league players to be his partners. Cue the three of them beating down Anderson & Gallows. They take out Anderson and they go nuts with chairs on him. Anderson crawls over slowly and then covers Gallows body in a vain attempt to protect him. They Balor and co. laugh and then destroy him with chairs too.

The Shield and The Brass Ring Club clash at WrestleMania. Two Irishmen and a Swiss guy raise the bar...you work out the punchline. Television consists of permutations of that six-man. At Mania, present the winners with a Six-Man Tag Team Championship. You've got Sanity, a potential Wyatt Family, The New Day (once Big E loses the WWE Title), a potential Rusev/Usos arrangement. You can always put guys together and use The Shield in the way that each member is most useful -- adding to both television programs by tearing down the place.
