Look, I just tried to think of 2 cities that were close to each other. :(

Frank Drebin 03-26-2018 10:02 AM

Not making fun of you. Making fun of the idea if the "big city reveal" were Buffalo.

Well, I mean, there's as much chance they do that as set the next game in Ludendorff/North Yankton (North Dakota?) which is seen in the beginning of V and later, during the mission "Bury the Hatchet".

Nicky Fives 03-26-2018 09:36 PM

Toronto & Buffalo could work, or a pair of cities similar to it.... One city is smaller with the smaller map (easier to animate), then the character goes to jail, "ties up lose ends" in the small town and moves to "the big city"

Fans have been waiting for almost eight years for a new Grand Theft Auto game, and according to one leaker with a solid track record, that gap between main entry releases won't be over until 2025. Something which Take-Two's statements during a recent shareholder event backed up recently.
Tom Henderson--who previously leaked Call of Duty and Battlefield 2042 details--has released a new video and in it, he claimed that GTA 6 will be set in a modern-day version of Vice City. This runs contrary to previous reports that GTA 6 would be set in the 1980s, with Henderson claiming that developer Rockstar wants to ensure as much freedom as possible for its staff when it comes to creating content for GTA Online.

Henderson also discussed a potential for the GTA 6 map to change over time, similar to how Epic Games regularly overhauls its Fortnite map during end-of-season events. There was also a mention of GTA 6 having multiple playable characters, something which GTA 5 introduced to the series when it first came out. Even if these rumors are true, fans are going to be in for a long wait due to several factors. Henderson said that Rockstar has placed a greater emphasis on employee wellbeing in the wake of several reports detailing the crunch work conditions that were implemented before Red Dead Redemption 2 came out.
The new GTA is believed to be coming to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC and, as they are new to the market, Rockstar is allegedly waiting for more systems to be sold so as to maximize sales. Henderson also added that since Rockstar wants to avoid delaying the game, GTA 6 won't be announced early and thanks to the constant revenue stream of GTA 5, Rockstar has the luxury of being able to take its time with development on this sequel.
It's worth being skeptical of any GTA 6 reports until Rockstar officially reveals the game, but these claims do line up with some previous leaks. To keep up to date with gaming's current Pepe Silvia, you can check out our hub of GTA 6 rumors and fan speculation.

2025. Fucking hell.

Fignuts 06-30-2021 01:06 PM

Yeah they're going to milk GTA 5 for all its worth.

Evil Vito 06-30-2021 01:31 PM

Feel like they already have. Personally I’ve gone as far as I can with the game. But obviously people keep biting on any extra content they have so I don’t blame them.

Same basic principle as Bethesda creating a new IP (Starfield) and holding off on saying anything about TES VI other than "it exists...kinda". They know that TESO is wildly successful and want to take it for all it's worth. The difference is it's not a steaming pile of dog shit like GTAO is. So if that trend continues over the next couple of years, what's to say Bethesda don't set more of their focus on Fallout 5 post-Starfield and all it's extra content as opposed to TES VI?

Anyway, I wouldn't want to be in their shoes trying to decide which of those 2 to pursue next. Nobody's going to forget FO76 anytime soon, and anything short of the overall quality of FNV (which, yes, we're all aware Obsidian put out, not Bethesda) might not be enough to move it off shelves when it releases. As for TES VI, fan expectations are already through the stratosphere, with people wanting extreme amounts of innovation yet still some features that would make it more like TES III: Morrowind or TES IV: Oblivion.

Fignuts 06-30-2021 01:59 PM

Oh no they haven't. People are still buying the exorbantly priced shark cards like hot cakes, despite what a massive ripoff they are. Pay the price of a brand new game for one high end vehicle.

What's worse is you don't even need to buy them. I've never bought a single one, but I own a bunch of businesses, a garage full of high end vehicles, and all 3 command center vehicles.

I did buy the criminal enterprise pack. That's a legit good deal though.

A lot (not all) of the extra DLC has been free though. They're mostly preying on people gullible enough to buy Shark cards like there's no tomorrow so they can buy the new hot billion dollar supercar in-game. That's what pisses me off with R* right now. It's corporate greed at its worst. I've kicked GTAO to the curb since at least a couple years ago now, and I don't miss it one bit.

Damn...now my post looks redundant but at least we agree that Shark cards are the fucking worst. Everyone talks about Bethesda becoming the next EA, but isn't R* closer to that point right now? I would argue they are.

Despite the ripoff shark cards, gtao is fantastic. There is more to do in this game than any other live service game I've ever played. In an open world more detailed than any other. It's grindy, but everything that gets added is there permanently. No limited time events or battle passes that are gone forever if you miss them.

Yeah, that's true, but I also was extremely put off by and fed up with the extremely toxic community, and was just tired of trolls and other people killing me over and over with no provocation and doing other troll shit. I guess you could say it pushed me to a breaking point where I just could not anymore.

ClockShot 06-30-2021 08:39 PM

2025. I can wait.

I'd rather Rockstar keep their Golden Child status in the video gaming industry. Let them take all the time in the world.

Yeah, I rolled with heisenberg and friends, and people are a lot less likely to fuck with you when you're in a group.

I would also use a trick to get myself in a solo lobby when I wanted to run business stuff unbothered.

DAMN iNATOR 07-02-2021 05:55 AM

Yeah I did the private lobby thing for that purpose too. It's sad that it was basically a requirement at one point for making any kind of money efficiently because for the most part the public lobbies weren't really full of bad eggs.

Really? We're going to sit here and play the semantics game? Everyone knows which one is the single player game and which is the MMO. It's not fucking rocket science.

Shadow 07-02-2021 09:17 AM

And everyone knows which makes Rockstar that stripper money.

R* is nothing like EA. EA is the worst.

Fignuts 07-03-2021 10:17 AM

R* is a developer. Their publisher, Take 2 interactive may not be as bad as EA, but with stuff like the aforementioned shark cards, and NBA 2k's gambling bullshit, they're certainly making a go of it.

The GTA (PS2) trilogy is coming to switch.

Evil Vito 10-14-2021 09:17 AM

The trilogy is now coming to PS4, PS5, XBox One and XBox X as well. Graphical enhancements and modern gameplay updates.

Expected to cost $70 on next gen.

Pass.

drave 10-14-2021 10:57 AM

LMFAO - not this time Rock*

Sepholio 10-14-2021 01:24 PM

I dunno. I might get it. If the upgrades are substantial enough to warrant it. And once that price drops down to $40 like the Mass Effect trilogy remaster was.

DAMN iNATOR 10-15-2021 03:42 PM

IF it's decently priced on PS4, I might consider grabbing it.

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-15-2021 05:05 PM

I'm getting it. Three games now using the GTA4/5 engine. Yes.

Yeah but that's not supposed to be the main look of the worlds themselves, only certain elements will use that, while still retaining the classic feel of the games. It's a remaster, not a remake.

rez 10-19-2021 11:48 PM

I don't know what to believe. There's big rumors that the graphic upgrades are minimal but the leaked PC minimal specs are for an I5 and recommended I7.

If it's just going to basically be a rerelease with modern GTA game controls...ehhhhh

That's basically what should be expected. It's a remaster, not a remake, the latter of which would be more akin to if they gave it the Mafia: The Definitive Edition treatment, which is not what's happening.

rez 10-19-2021 11:55 PM

yeah...but if the specs are to be believed...those are pretty high for the trilogy.

It's just because they're doing the bits that will be graphically overhauled in Unreal Engine as opposed to R.A.G.E.

You'll be setting yourself up for disappointment if you expect any of the 3 games to look like GTA V.

Looks very PS3 and I'm okay with that. I hope they got to keep most of the music in Vice City.

Destor 10-22-2021 07:22 PM

ill def grab it.

Destor 10-22-2021 07:25 PM

Dr. Dre recording new original music the gor trilogy makes me VERY sceptical of the OG sound tracks being represented in full though
