Looking at the progression from GTA4 to RDD to GTAOnline, I'd say we should prepare for a massive double down on the next GTA online mode. Campaign may take a further backseat.

Considering the criticism of 5 for it's shorter campaign, and the fact that fans are still demanding single playet dlc, I doubt they are going to minimalize the single player content even further. With a game created on the new hardware, I see no reason why a company as talented as Rockstar can't expand on both sides of the game enough to appease fans as opposed to cutting one down content on one.
The Singleplayer content is important enough to the fanbase where I could see a stand alone GTAO before the sp content in a numbered title gets skimped on even more. |
I would like to the system from San Andreas come back. Where you can go to the gym, change melee fighting moves, etc. Only they could do it with so much more now.
Think something like "The Division" or something of the sort. Allow for player customization like Saints Row but still have the same "main story". That would be great for replayability/longevity in the SP realm. |
One of the few things that irks me in V is switching between the protags and the one I switch to isn't wearing their "default" outfit I like to have them wear. Example: For Trevor, I have his "default" as Blarney's baseball cap, aviator sunglasses, shaggy beard, camo hunting jacket/vest, camo cargo pants and boots. Doesn't look right when I switch to him from Michael or Franklin to see him out and around in a t-shirt and shorts.
Basically I just try and work within the "gimmicks" of the 3 individually when determining what kind of "default" outfit/look I want them to have. It's a minor thing, but when I see any deviation whatsoever it just really pisses me off. |

No, they don't need to be mandatory at all. The water breathing mission was the worst for that.
Think of it more like a "build it to your playstyle" a la Skyrim and/or Oblivion. You wanna be a melee badass, seek out melee "training" and/or just go to local fight clubs in each town (that you don't fucking talk about) to advance those sets of stats. Re: Damn Like you have anything better to do anyway. |

If consoles are going the way that is recently projected, it will be dumb to own one unless you want specific titles in the future. They are just going to release them short term, like a PC. It will be much cheaper and smarter, not to mention "bang for your buck" to just build a PC.

I'd enjoy seeing a fictional Chicago and/or Detroit as the next GTA setting...if I want to get a fix of more LC or LS/SF/LV/SA or VC I can always bust out whichever game I feel like...time to switch up the setting.
Also, would be really cool if the idea of a female protag turned out to be true. |
I'm indifferent towards the setting to be completely honest. Female protagonist would be cool, I just want great missions and a superb story arc and I'll be content. And lots of pigeons to kill.
