Which means they won't do it

#1-norm-fan 12-07-2017 05:54 PM

Oh, they probably won't. It's fun to have hope sometimes though.

Credibility. She's a name. Casual fans know her as the greatest female fighter ever via years of mainstream exposure. The specifics of how her streak ended aren't a big deal. It's not as ingrained in the typical WWE fan's mind as her legacy.

I think the typical fan remembers her crying that losing gave her ptsd on the view and then going on to get humiliated again. It was pretty famous

#1-norm-fan 12-07-2017 05:58 PM

I don't think Ronda Rousey's interview on The View is as stuck in a typical WWE fan's mind as you think it is.

XL 12-07-2017 06:03 PM

What do you mean by a “typical fan”?

I played kn every media outlet including espn. It had more eyes on it than any fight she ever had. Or donyou hink ufc ppvs draw better than the toady show?

Destor 12-07-2017 06:06 PM

Shes a laughing stock. People have short memories s hopefully that worsk out

#1-norm-fan 12-07-2017 06:10 PM

The fact that it was shown in the media does not mean it left a lasting impression on casual viewers.

Definitely not nearly as much as years and years and years of "Ronda Rousey is making female fighting a thing" getting constant mainstream attention.

Destor 12-07-2017 06:14 PM

It was 3 years, calm your tits

Destor 12-07-2017 06:14 PM

Anyone wanna take bets on who fucks her?

Destor 12-07-2017 06:15 PM

...well who she fucks might be more accurate

vs. one interview that was shown on media outlets for like a week when it happened.

Calm yours.

Destor 12-07-2017 06:18 PM

Except it soured the entire fan base against her so you wont get any float over. Youre trying to what? Draw casual mma fans that are also casual wrestling fans?

Huge market ya got there.

Destor 12-07-2017 06:20 PM

You might just be better off using the one night she will draw (her debut) and just having asuka murder her

That interview soured her entire fan base against her? Are you basing that on your personal feelings about it? That's silly but it's also beside the point...

It was a blip on the radar in comparison to the mainstream attention she got for being a credible fighter. Which... follow me here... is what they're taking advantage of because it's what most people, who don't care about/follow UFC religiously, know her for. It's instant credibility.

Unless you think the crossover between WWE fan and hardcore UFC fan who thinks Rousey's a bitch for crying is just so massive that people are gonna tune out.

Destor 12-07-2017 06:32 PM

Are you really denying that shes the joke of mma? Do you...do you even follow if? Thankfully punk came along or shed be the biggest joke running.

Destor 12-07-2017 06:34 PM

"Hardcore mma fansz"

Ie people who watch the today show

Destor 12-07-2017 06:34 PM

Or espn

Destor 12-07-2017 06:35 PM

SHE DOESNT HAVE ANY CREDIBILITY

If she did dana would still book her

#1-norm-fan 12-07-2017 06:38 PM

I'm saying who gives a fuck what she is to the hardcore MMA fan. That is what I'm saying. There's a MUCH larger audience who only knows her as the most dominant female fighter of all time. Which is how she'll be presented. And the casual WWE fan, WHO ISN'T A HUGE MMA MARK, isn't gonna sit there thinking "Yeah, this all sounds good... but that interview she did on The View tho..."

Destor 12-07-2017 06:42 PM

"They want to draw rousey fans that dont actually follow rousey"

Oh. Gotcha.

Destor 12-07-2017 06:43 PM

Thatll be big business

#1-norm-fan 12-07-2017 06:44 PM

My God, you really have become CyNick-lite.

Who broke you? Tell me which poster is responsible for this.

Destor 12-07-2017 06:46 PM

Youre talking about a sect of an audence that doesnt exist those who dont follow her but will follow her to the wwe.

Its broken logic. Its not even logic.

Destor 12-07-2017 06:49 PM

"Only hard core fans will know about that interview (false, its the opposite in many regards but lets let you have that point.) Theyre after casual fans that follow her anywhere she goes."

How is that tracking for you?

#1-norm-fan 12-07-2017 06:50 PM

I've said "casual/typical WWE fan" multiple times in this conversation to make it clear who I'm talking about.

Now you're telling me that I'm talking about people who will FOLLOW her to the WWE.

Seriously. Who broke you? It was ABT, wasn't it?

Destor 12-07-2017 06:50 PM

Maybe there is a sect of the audience that is a huge rousey mark but they only watch shows in arenas

Simple Fan 12-07-2017 06:50 PM

Never seen her fight, only thing I've seen her in is movies. I think she'll be fine if she's treated as a female Brock and they keep Asuka away from her.

Ohhhh youre sayimg she wont draw but might get over. I agree with that. Good booking can get her over if she can work.

I hope she actually gets to say...well anything, back to Steph during promos. Hate that pretty much everyone just has to stand there and take it.

Believe me Dana would love to still have her. But she is shot mentally as a fighter and does not want to fight anymore.

After he last loss there is no money in her. Hell buyrates were way down for her come back match (that she was humiliated in.)

I mean if shes fighting for nickles im sure hed give her an undercard bout.

There is no money in her though. She was dominating when the scene formed because there was no money and thus no talent. She got over and the money came with it, a far superior breed of fighters (see: well rounded) came and humbled her and everyone of that "generation." Shes done. Dana knows it. Vince is a shark amd thinks he can squeeze a few dimes out of her. Cant blame him i just hope he didnt pay whole sale for damaged goods.

Ruien 12-07-2017 08:53 PM

If she would win her first fight back though in a dominate fashion her next fight would be a draw.

Destor 12-07-2017 09:26 PM

If she had yeah

Destor 12-07-2017 09:26 PM

She didn't tho.

Maluco 12-07-2017 10:20 PM

It all depends on how good a professional wrestler she is. If she is great, it's easy to build her up. If she sucks, convincing fans to forget her recent past will be much harder.

Fact is, at one point in time, 13 million people were watching her weigh ins on YouTube. If even a fraction of that is still big into her, they are sitting on a potential fortune.

First I am hearing of it.......

Damian Rey 2.0 12-08-2017 12:35 AM

Yeah I don't think typical wrestling fans will know or care about her post fight breakdowns. They may know about the losses but I don't think that hurts her in a rigged sport.

It'll come down to her in ring work, and more importantly her character and booking.

#1-norm-fan 12-08-2017 02:15 AM

That shit was on on mainstream media, though. It's clearly how everyone will perceive her.
