Shadow 06-27-2016 08:46 PM

It's a start. I would like to see his auto-lock range nerfed as well as how quickly it switches targets. Currently I think it targets the nearest enemy and would like to see it like the engie's turret where it doesn't let go of a target until said target is dead.

drave 06-28-2016 06:08 AM

30% damage nerf is on the turret. The range could maaaaaaaaaybe use a bit of a nerf but not the auto-lock. It is a turret, it should be fast like that.

This ALMOST reminds me of the whining with Bastion. While he may seem OP, he can be countered easily.

Heisenberg 06-28-2016 08:41 AM

They need to release an Elimination Chamber match where it's still 6v6, but only one person from each team starts out the battle, sudden death, with the others being released in 2 minute increments.

Kalyx triaD 06-28-2016 11:39 AM

I'd probably play that.

And for some reason I thought the nerf was on the primary.

Yeah fuck those turrents, but I think the target tracking was a bigger issue.

If I may be so bold, I think Mercy's useless slowfall ability should be paired with a higher jump.

Last week I played with Figgy and Alva and experimented with choosing one person doing a specific job (and doing it well), and just keeping them alive and buffed. This turned Fig's Widow into a killing machine they had to team shoot to kill.

Heisenberg 06-28-2016 12:28 PM

A delay on the turrets would be fair. Hanzo doesn't have a chance if he wants to get a sweet shot off. Half the Genjis I've encountered don't know how to deflect, but that's on them

Fignuts 06-28-2016 02:34 PM

pfft

My Widow is always a killing machine.

With the snipers you just have to dip back and forth behind cover as you're taking your shots. You'll take some damage, but the turret will go before you do. If torn is repairing the turret, get him first, get some health if you need it, then the turret.

Heisenberg 06-28-2016 03:21 PM

Oh, I know! The turrets aren't a big deal to me and on a given Overwatch night I'm jumping from PC to the One and having to deal with the movement changes or lack thereof on console.

Fignuts 06-29-2016 12:38 AM

It can be a problem when there is more than one, depending on there placement.

Also, I read another reason for the change was that blizzard found that a lot of games were revolving mainly around dealing with the turrets, and thats not how they intended the gameplay to flow.

Heisenberg 06-29-2016 09:03 AM

Competitive Play is out and it's ruthless. Do NOT go into a match by yourself. It's not worth it. It's come out on consoles next week.

Finally got the Junkrat Jester skin last night. Tits!

alvarado52 06-29-2016 01:30 PM

I bet. Gonna reserve that play for when we have full groups. Figgy, me, Kalyx, and a buddy of mine played last night and I swear we broke a record for fastest victory @ 1m8s (Kalyx may have left by the time we ran that game).

Heisenberg 06-29-2016 10:01 PM

Competitive Clutch Shit by my Hanzo

Fignuts 06-30-2016 12:50 AM

Yeah, I was wrecking shit last night. Had 4 play of the games, and would have had one more, but alvarado had to go and revive almost the whole team with mercy.

Fucking asshole.

Fignuts 06-30-2016 01:07 AM

Little bit of my hotness last night

Fignuts 06-30-2016 01:11 AM

That said, I'm still getting snubbed on the widow POTG. Last night I mad 3 eliminations in as many seconds. Play of the game went to a torb whose turret got 2 kills while he aimlessly wandered around like a fucking mental patient.

Overwatch needs to check it's math.

alvarado52 06-30-2016 05:08 PM

Competitive play is live on xbox. Anyone down to jump on and see how well we do?

Fignuts 06-30-2016 07:00 PM

I will be on later. Around 11ish

alvarado52 07-01-2016 12:26 AM

Luckily it seems that randies in competitive are WAY more about winning than quick play...actually, the 2 wins I got were dominating with randies, and the two loses I got were playing with a full group of XBL pals.

drave 07-01-2016 06:03 AM

So the randies are more http://static.sportskeeda.com/wp-con...1418284946.jpg than http://ia.media-imdb.com/images/M/MV...14,317_AL_.jpg

alvarado52 07-01-2016 03:01 PM

indeed

Heisenberg 07-01-2016 04:53 PM

Competitive has made me up my Reinhardt and Genji game

alvarado52 07-01-2016 05:35 PM

It certainly adds a level of challenge and frustration. Ended last night on the upswing of things after losing like 6 in a row.

Heisenberg 07-04-2016 05:23 PM

So glad I have enough friends to make a full group cause not having communication with your team pretty much is 50/50 towards victory. The only down side to that is my will to not play unless I have friends on. Used to love grinding these FPS games, but it's not worth my time trying to carry or explain to a group how to stay on the fucking payload.

That would kill countering if we just nerfed it. Torbjorn would be useless

Experiencing that on the PC as well as the One.

Looks like Blizzzard anti-cheat policies are also taregtting cheat device makers since they recently sued a German company called Bossland for an undisclosed amount. Not the first time they've sued the company but the case is taking place in a more favorable location for them.

Quote:

If you play Overwatch and you're not a cheater you've probably never heard of Watchover Tyrant, a paid program that allows players to see where all their enemies are and everyone's names and health, as well as tweak the game's field of view. The program is being sold by a German company known as Bossland GMBH as a subscription service for around $66 a year.

Blizzard caught wind of this and other cheats the company sells for Blizzard games and is taking it to court claiming the cheat maker is committing copyright infringement, breaking the DMCA's anti-circumvention clause, and creating unfair competition.

Next hero character is currently rumored to be revealed later this month and likely during San Diego Comic Con event.

Quote:

We had an inkling that we'd soon find out who's the newest Overwatch hero. Most recently, that has been based on a pretty blatant tease by Blizzard. These sorts of things generally aren't hinted at so strongly unless something big is imminent. Now we have confirmation that we'll find out this character's identity within two weeks' time.

The reason for that is because Blizzard is holding a panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 21 that's called "Behind The Scenes of Overwatch's Newest Hero." It'd be awfully hard to continue to conceal the character beyond this panel. We can probably expect that the 22nd hero will be announced at or before SDCC.

If popular consensus holds up, the new hero will be Sombra ("ĦEs Sombra!"), a sniper with healing properties. She's the one that has gotten all the attention through small in-world references and she perfectly fits the tease from earlier this week.

Fignuts 07-09-2016 05:39 AM

Damn, just had maybe my best POTG ever tonight. Game was pretty much over. Only a couple seconds left. Rest of team just respawning. Zoom in with Genji to the payload witch their entire team is on top of, and for a good 15 seconds just jump all over reflecting, slashing, and throwing stars, keeping things contested. Get my ult just as Heisenberg and friends come crashing in, and I wrecked their shit.

Kalyx triaD 07-09-2016 12:24 PM

Bushido

Fignuts 07-10-2016 07:59 PM

Ranking system is garbage and REALLY needs to factor individual performance a lot more than it does, if it does at all.

Sick of killing it only to lose an entire level because my team is a bunch of mental patients.

Heisenberg 07-11-2016 01:41 AM

We wrecked some shit this weekend. Hopefully we get more group action like that. @Fignuts @drave

Totally apologize for pulling y'all into chat like that. It sounded funny in my brain

Fignuts 07-11-2016 02:30 AM

Nah dude, that was actually pretty fun.

drave 07-11-2016 06:11 AM

It was definitely fun. Do that anytime man. Haven't laughed so hard in quite a while.

alvarado52 07-12-2016 02:12 PM

Here comes a new challenger

Overwatch's Competitive Play is only a couple weeks old, but developer Blizzard is already thinking of ways it can make the mode better. One of the first things it plans to implement is a one-hero limit, which prevents teams from having lineups with multiple Bastions, Torbjorns, or any other hero that might drive you just a little bit crazy. The new limit in Competitive Play is live on the Overwatch Public Test Realm and will make its way over to the main game in a patch soon.

GameSpot got the opportunity to talk to Blizzard principal designer Scott Mercer about Competitive Play. He told us about the one-hero limit and said that although the change is coming to Competitive, players who want to stack their team full of the same hero won't be limited in Quick Play.

drave 07-12-2016 06:54 PM

Makes sense.

Fignuts 07-12-2016 07:09 PM

Should be a 2 hero limit.

drave 07-12-2016 07:11 PM

Cheese is cheese.

Fignuts 07-12-2016 07:28 PM

2 of any character no matter who it is, is not overpowered, or game breaking.

I agree that a full team of certain characters can be hard to work around, but limiting players to just one of each is overkill, and takes away depth.

Fignuts 07-12-2016 07:42 PM
