Dark-Slicer Diago 03-01-2011 10:11 AM

For almost a week now I went back to playing Tyrian2000 since I got bored with WoW and SvR '11.

NoJabbaNoBogRoll 03-01-2011 10:15 AM

Fallout: New Vegas

Very impressed so far, despite the graphics not really improving since the last game.

Over halfway through Okami. After that's done, barring any complications, I will finally start Fallout 3.

Still working through Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, but I imagine I will be taking that game hella slow.

Okami is amazing. I'm stuck on one part close to the end. I have to guide someone through one of those side scrolling mazes using the brush techniques, but it just won't work in a few parts. I have no issues using them in the main game. I've tried and tried and tried and it just won't register or do what it's supposed to do. It's annoying because I know I'm close to the end.

I started Assassin's Creed and so far it's not as good as I thought it would be. It's still pretty fun though. i think I'm about halfway done.

Boomer 03-01-2011 11:55 AM

I'm certainly enjoying it; its Zelda roots are obvious, though the world feels a bit empty to me overall. These "small towns" just seem a little too sparse for me. Dungeons are split up in some interesting ways, but I don't like how every battle takes place in a battle area and creatures aren't seen roaming the halls.

I am most surprised by the amount of humor it has. Would be a good game for kids if they could handle the brush techniques.

I finished it...to it sort of felt like DLC, and I HATE saying that since I dropped 60 on it. I enjoyed the story, but it just felt like DLC, next installment will need a dramatic makeover for me to even YouTube it let alone buy it...

The Persona series is a clear definition of a J-RPG. I like to play series in their entirety, which is really the only reason I've been playing through the earlier ones. You might like it, but I couldn't say for sure. The plot-lines are crazy, and the game is about fucking high school students, so proceed with caution. The series is best known for letting you talk your way out of a fight by socializing with the demons - its pretty bananas. Persona 1 and both parts of Persona 2 are PS1, and Persona 3 and 4 (the better games of the series, from what I've heard) are on the PS2.

As for PS1 RPGs, Xenogears and Final Fantasy Tactics are the first obvious ones that aren't on your list. I've always heard good things about Suikoden and the Grandia series, but haven't played them myself. I know Assman plays old RPGs all the time, he might be more opinionated.

Next Big Thing 03-02-2011 09:20 AM

Alan Wake. Love this game. Great storyline, great game play.

Looking forward to getting to my copy at some point. So so backlogged right now that I have no hope in sight of playing it any time soon.

OssMan 03-02-2011 08:14 PM

I never played Persona at all. It is supposed to be really good, especially I think Persona 3 but like you I like to play series in their entirety but have strayed away from the series because they are so hard to come by. The first Suikoden is fucking terrible, but if you like Secret of Mana you will probably like it because you like shitty RPGs with no plot or memorable characters and no direction and embarrassing dialogue. But apparently Suikoden 2 is really good. Same thing is said for the Grandia series but I haven't played any of those although I will finally play the copy of Grandia 2 I have on Dreamcast someday.

Boomer 03-03-2011 08:58 AM

Yeah I have almost no love for Secret or Legend of Mana - games everyone always seemed to love, and I just never saw it. The co-op never seemed to be all that great either.

Disturbed316 03-03-2011 02:32 PM

Fable 3
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
Gray Matter
Fight Night Champion

OssMan 03-03-2011 10:43 PM

The co-op is what got me through Secret of Mana. No way would I be able to finish that piece of shit on my own. I was lucky to have my friend with me the whole time so we could laugh at the absurdity and stupidity of the game.

YoungFlyFlashy 03-04-2011 09:54 PM

Fight Night: Champion

OssMan 03-05-2011 04:54 PM

#BROKEN Hasney 03-05-2011 06:32 PM

Ways and means my friend.

I've only played 5 mins as I noticed my DA:O saves had vanished, so gonna do a quick playthrough tomorrow then get back into DA:2 in the week.

OssMan 03-05-2011 06:47 PM

Wait

You aren't in England?

#BROKEN Hasney 03-05-2011 07:07 PM

Ya I'm in England, but Europe doesn't get the game first.

OssMan 03-05-2011 07:10 PM

Rock band 3 - pro guitar
Started Fallout 3 :), can't believe what i've been missing...

Xero 03-06-2011 01:17 PM

Can't play anything with any real semblance of a story anymore. I get bored too easily, and I'm too anal to just skip the story.

If the game has a cutscene that's more than two minutes long I won't play it right now.

Fignuts 03-06-2011 03:42 PM

Want to get DA 2, but I should save my money. Will probably get Beyond Good and Evil HD.

OldSchoolFan 03-09-2011 12:13 AM

I'm on Guild Wars now... been kinda playing a little Rappelz and occasionally pick up my SC2... patiently waiting for Nascar 11 and Gears 3

OssMan 03-11-2011 01:15 AM

So many of you play such shitty games. I wish you would spend the time you spent playing 24: The Game playing Zone of the Enders or something.

Poit 03-11-2011 12:50 PM

I've been playing a lot of Rift and KoL recently.

Xero 03-11-2011 01:18 PM

Big props to EA for finally releasing a Fight Night game that's held my interest exclusively for two weeks and has yet to become insanely easy.

Should point out that I've always been a fan of this series, but after all of 48 hours real life time in the past, you were an absolute worldbeater, and then some other new game would come out.

El Fangel 03-13-2011 01:10 AM

YFF, i fucking love that game.
