What are your thoughts?

My concerns are that it will be the third Royal Rumble this year, which in combination will all the Battle Royals we've been getting, seems like over kill. Also will there be a title match for the winner? When will that be? Is there other matches on the card?

Perhaps there will be some kind of controversy in the Nakamaura/AJ match leading to the WWE Championship being on the line in The Greatest Royal Rumble.

Jordan 03-16-2018 06:21 PM

WWE will have their greatest month for attendance ever it looks like.

Ruien 03-16-2018 06:23 PM

Huh? WWE has another rumble? Confused

Ruien 03-16-2018 06:23 PM

Feel like this is something Slik would post as a joke.

Jordan 03-16-2018 06:24 PM

No it's real. It's random as hell but it's real.

Droford 03-16-2018 08:43 PM

At least its gonna be on the Network

Emperor Smeat 03-16-2018 09:37 PM

Doubt anything meaningful happens since it seems its just this one big match for the event's card. Observer recently reported WWE is leaning on this being more of a taped special for the Network unlike the PPV treatment the upcoming 100k Australia show is getting.

Also just WWE desperately wanting to get their hands on the huge sums of money the Saudi government is spending to modernize the country's image and host a lot of international events during the next 10 years.

slik 03-16-2018 11:29 PM

@Ruien,

It will probably air on the Network, like the 'Beast in the East' special did. Like Smeat said right above, they signed a 10 yr deal to do one big show in Saudi Arabia each year and the 100k stadium show in Australia this October will prob end up more of ppv than a special.

DAMN iNATOR 03-16-2018 11:52 PM

My one thought on this is as follows: It will not live up to its name. [/thread]

Fignuts 03-16-2018 11:56 PM

Wonder if they'll bother with any surprise entrants or just pull everyone from the current roster.

Mr. Nerfect 03-17-2018 01:34 AM

I'm kind of intrigued. It'll be a Royal Rumble that isn't held on a show with another Royal Rumble, which kind of makes it feel more like a Royal Rumble. But isn't it going to have 50 people? That sounds...messy. I dunno -- it sounds fun as trivia. Got a feeling that Braun Strowman will win as a random accomplishment.

I doubt they will fly people over due to costs and such, but maybe some road agents that would be there anyway.

Probably a really safe bet considering WWE supposedly wants to load it up with as many big names as possible and at least two part-timers were already reported to be appearing.

Cool King 03-17-2018 08:00 AM

I don't think they'll be any surprise entrants, and the match will just be made up of pretty much the entire roster with either Cena, Reigns or even Strowman winning it.

Jordan 03-17-2018 01:22 PM

I think there will be some NXT surprises, just due to the numbers needed.

Jordan 03-17-2018 01:23 PM

Jericho is also rumored.

slik 03-19-2018 09:46 AM

I'm guessing no women's matches this time, seven title matches will happen though, the press release mentions the Universal, World, IC, US, Tag Belts for RAW and SD and Cruiserweight title:

Danny Electric 03-19-2018 09:54 AM

If I remember correctly wasn't there a women's match involving Banks last time they went over there, she was just showing no skin apart from from her face and hands.
Also I'm hoping Muhammad Hassan and Daviari return and wrestle/beat up all the corrupt Saudi royalty.

Loose Cannon 03-19-2018 02:20 PM

I came in expecting a discussion about 1992

Ernest Miller will come back and win

XL 03-23-2018 05:14 PM

7 matches and a 50 man Royal Rumble? Gonna be a looooooong show.

Jordan 03-23-2018 08:36 PM

If there are seven championships to be defended that means...

Universal
WWE Championship
IC
US
Raw Tag
Smackdown Tag
and probably the WWE UK Championship.

Plus a 50 man Royal Rumble.... they will probably have to put all the undercard guys in the match. It really sucks they won't have the women on the card, that makes the shows seem odd to me now.

Emperor Smeat 03-23-2018 08:46 PM

Swap out the UK title for the Cruiser title and you get all seven of the main roster Men's belts being defended on this show.

Nicky Fives 03-23-2018 09:00 PM

I've wanted the largest Royal Rumble possible for many years now, so I'm very happy. Throw in a stipulation that the winner gets a WWE/Universal Championship shot and that is all it needs

Mr. Nerfect 03-24-2018 09:46 PM

I'm happy this event is happening. The multiple Rumbles at the January Rumble kind of took away from the mystique. This is actually lining itself up to be a super-card of sorts. Without a title shot on the line, they might actually do something surprising. Now that Bryan is cleared, I think he's got a good shot at entering and winning.

For an event this big, I will be very surprised if they don't. #316?

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-25-2018 01:36 AM

WWE should have a woman's only live event at the same time. I'd pay to see that shit over this SEXIST BULLSHIT!

They actually should.

Jordan 03-25-2018 09:31 AM

And if they don't do that it's soon time for an all women's Network Special. They have enough talent to make a great show.

Jordan 03-25-2018 09:31 AM

Shit. First ever Queen of The Ring Tournament?

Mr. Nerfect 03-25-2018 04:57 PM

The potential is there for one. Don't see why it has to be at the same time though.

Cause WWE has to show that they don't want to adhere to Saudi 15th century bullshit.

SlickyTrickyDamon 03-25-2018 05:19 PM

I'm pretty close to start a boycott of this show

Jordan 03-25-2018 05:34 PM

Well I'm not gonna follow you on that one. As much as I appreciate what the women have brought to WWE the past few years, I'll be fine without them. And I don't watch WWE to change the world. That said, I'm all for anyone boycotting for whatever reason they want. I love it when WWE runs international shows on the Network, and it's in a 60,000 stadium so it's gonna be cool.

Ruien 03-25-2018 05:48 PM

Wonder how many people will join STD's boycott.

Ruien 03-25-2018 05:48 PM

Maybe his part fish.

Yeah, but they do?

Mr. Nerfect 03-25-2018 05:50 PM

This is a company that was willing to name a Battle Royal after a pimp lol.

Ruien 03-25-2018 05:53 PM

If they wanted to show Saudi then they would have refused to have a show there.

Droford 03-25-2018 06:00 PM

Should have added 2 rings and 10 wrestlers and called it World War 3
