:wtf: They might as well just outlaw fighting then.

Bad News Gertner 10-08-2013 12:47 AM

If they outlawed fighting I'd never watch another game.

Skippord 10-09-2013 02:44 PM

I'm pretty sure this year's Avs have already won more games than last year.

Bad News Gertner 10-10-2013 01:42 AM

They looked good. Varlemov played well. Their defence tended to breakdown and chase.

Arashi Kage 10-10-2013 02:11 AM

I'm happy that I have McKinnon in the TPWW league.

The Av's are looking "so far, so good" under Mr. Roy.

Bad News Gertner 10-10-2013 03:11 AM

Roy is perfect for that group of young player. A vetern team would tune him out. He's basically a junior coach and young guys like it.

Skippord 10-10-2013 05:56 AM

He is the best

feel like Steve Downie is his favorite player by far

Bad News Gertner 10-10-2013 06:09 AM

Downie is a gem. Love Steve Downie.

Skippord 10-10-2013 06:01 PM

lol on the Avs broadcast they were talking about how he makes everyone in the locker room nervous cause he's a madman

JimmyMess 10-10-2013 06:10 PM

I was at the Leafs game on Tuesday, was too far off to the left and behind to notice if Roy was losing his shit

Bad News Gertner 10-11-2013 01:04 AM

Game was pretty tame for the most part.

Nice bounce-back win tonight over the Preds. Reimer might be sitting on the bench for a bit.

Bad News Gertner 10-12-2013 09:56 PM

The Oilers are such a horseshit organization. Dubnyk is atrocious.

Skippord 10-12-2013 11:47 PM

he's no SEMYON VARLAMOV, that's for sure

Bad News Gertner 10-13-2013 11:43 AM

Dubnyk is the worst goaltender in the NHL.

OssMan 10-13-2013 12:48 PM

Varlamov is the best,,, any American hockey team is the lowest form of scum on the earth

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-13-2013 12:53 PM

So is Ronic your sock Ossman?

Bad News Gertner 10-14-2013 08:47 AM

The Florida Panthers might be the worst pre-trade deadline team that I've seen since the early 2000 Pittsburgh Penguins.

Blitz 10-14-2013 12:13 PM

Took Raymond and Kadri in my fantasy pool. Great picks so far.

Took Drouin which was a bust. But I also took Nathan MacKinnon who's making up for it

Both are beasts. Drouin will return i think for some games.

I overspent on Gudbranson who really needs some fucking points.

Once the sabres drop miller and vanek its going to be epic how bad they are this year.

We sat here 2 years ago thinking on Paper they looked like a contender.

Now They are fighting for the number 1 pick in the draft.

Gudbranson won't nor will ever score points. He's Luke Schenn 2.0.

Drouin won't come up. Tampa aren't gonna burn a year of his contract.

El Fangel 10-14-2013 06:41 PM

Yeah, I always thought he had some o talent but hell, ill take 30 pim, 20 hits and block shots in 6 games.

Boyle just went off the ice on a stretcher.

Lapierre is why the NHL needs to get rid of the instigator rule. He and Kateta are rats.

Bad News Gertner 10-16-2013 07:06 AM

Lol I love how Fenwick and Corsi are the all the rage in the NHL and the Leafs are basically shitting on it game by game.

Outshot 37-14 and they win 4-1. Figure that out.

That Kaleta hit was not as big a deal as people make it out to be. And he fought Boll right then and there. He owned up to it. His past moves have been pretty bad, but this one wasnt so bad.

Lapierre ran and hid behind the ref. Kaleta owns up and fights when he has to, and ducks when its not to draw penalties and play his role.

They can bring him up later and keep his games played total down, will burn a year on his entry deal but wont count against his years for Unrestricted free agency.

Classic Leafs. Starting hot getting all the fans wet and then they pull out at the last second before they are about to cum.

Hanso Amore 10-16-2013 03:40 PM

Wait, nevermind I forget how the CBA works.

If he plays 10 he kicks in his contract. But they can send him back down before 40 games and it doesnt accrue.

Bad News Gertner 10-16-2013 06:10 PM

Yup, that's right.

I didn't think the Kaleta hit was that bad either. I think he fought Boll because Boll isn't exactly the greatest fighter.

After 7 years you qualify as a UFA. If he plays less than 40 then it won't count.

went to the Avs game tonight and they lost for the first time this season, exciting!

DaveBrawl 10-18-2013 08:31 AM

Of course it would be Detroit.

road doggy dogg 10-18-2013 08:38 AM

at least Detroit can win something right now

Cody Mcleod's gonna get suspended for that hit on Kronwall and it's bullshit that he is.

Also, what the hell was Drew Miller thinking last night fighting Sarich lol

Corndad 10-18-2013 11:52 PM

Flyers are all kinds of awful this year. This makes me happy.

Sarich fighting surprised me, didn't think he did that.

I was disappointed Bordy didn't murder somebody.

Buffalo Sabres enforcer John Scott was suspended indefinitely by the NHL on Thursday. And teammate Patrick Kaleta's appeal to reduce his 10-game suspension was denied by league Commissioner Gary Bettman.

Scott was suspended pending a disciplinary hearing for a blindside hit to the head that leveled Boston Bruins forward Loui Eriksson in Buffalo's 5-2 loss a day earlier.
Quote:

Bettman issued a 17-page decision outlining why he turned down Kaleta's appeal to reduce a 10-game ban for an illegal hit to the head on Columbus Blue Jackets defenseman Jack Johnson on Oct. 10.

In supporting league disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan's initial ruling, Bettman noted Kaleta was a repeat offender, having been previously suspended three times, and added that Kaleta could have avoided hitting Johnson.

SlickyTrickyDamon 10-28-2013 02:49 AM

Has it been approved by the league?

Wake Up Call 10-28-2013 04:57 PM

Sure hope a contract extension is coming for Vanek or he can walk away from the Islanders
next year.

El Fangel 10-28-2013 07:30 PM

Tanking.

Arashi Kage 10-28-2013 08:44 PM

I was reading that Vanek has his eye on Minnesota, and that he may have already been there is the Wild had been able to buy-out Heatley during the summer.

Will be interesting to see if Vanek's heart leads him to Minnesota after this season, or if the Islanders can dangle enough cash in front of him, combined with how things turn out playing with Tavares - in order to convince him to stay.

Bad News Gertner 10-28-2013 09:07 PM

I've heard about Vanek to Minny for a while now. Not sure if the Wild would want to take on another contract like that long term.

YOUR Hero 10-29-2013 10:37 AM

Islanders are rolling the dice. Hope they can get Vanek to stay. Would love to see the Isles become something again

weather vane 10-29-2013 07:00 PM

Isles had a great season last year. Almost taking out the Pens was exciting stuff. They have a good core of young guys that all hang out together and want to win. They have a bright future I think.

Bad News Gertner 10-29-2013 07:02 PM

They've got some fantastic young defencemen in the pipeline.

Corndad 11-02-2013 01:23 AM

Evil Vito 11-02-2013 11:20 AM

And yeah as mentioned, I have my doubts on Vanek staying with the Isles unless they put together an even better run than last year. They were going to lose Moulson to free agency anyway so that evens out - but losing a 1st and 2nd for a rental is a huge risk if they don't play deep into the playoffs.

Some have made the argument that the Isles have enough talented young players waiting in the wings to make losing the picks be a non-issue, but you can never have enough depth.

Indeed. They are doing much better than expected. Now, the Oilers on the other hand.... :'(

Emperor Smeat 11-05-2013 02:31 PM

How well or bad has Taylor Hall developed the past few years for the Oilers?

Only remember how him and Seguin were hyped as both potential cornerstones for their teams and big stars for the league itself.

For a while there, it looked like Seguin > Hall, but I think that Hall is turning out to be the higher producer and all around better player.

I think that before the season is over, we'll see Yakupov + draft pick traded for a goalie. You have to think that MacT has his eye on Optimus Reim.

He's in his 5th season. After his 3rd full season he still hadn't shown #1 goaltender status. I realize their defence has been bad, but Dubnyk wasn't exactly Terry Sawchuk either. Also, getting a reliable back up to challenge Dubnyk would have helped and not one whose legs fall off if he makes consecutive starts (Khabibulin)

YOUR Hero 11-06-2013 10:07 AM

Yeah I don't know why they didn't sign Theodore (still available I think) or someone of that stature to be backup/mentor for Dubnyk.
Also Yakopov will be good, so will(is) Gagner. Their problem is goal and defence.
Terrible

Bad News Gertner 11-07-2013 12:52 AM

Yeah, Theodore is actually in the KHL right now. Yakupov and Gagner will be good. Think they are expecting too much out of Gagner to be honest.
