Wrestlers you thought looked cool when you were a kid...

....but totally didn't.

Biggest one for me

Battle Kat

I remember seeing a profile for him in WWE magazine, and anxiously watching superstars every week for a chance to see him in action. I never did, and looking at him now it's no surprise. Guy probably had 3 matches before Vince said "GOD DAMN, this is gay as fuck! Get rid of em'!"

Arrogance 11-30-2017 08:05 PM

I thought the Max Moon was cool.

Lock Jaw 11-30-2017 08:08 PM

As a kid I was all "WHOA! Look at that monster! And he's manhandling The Undertaker! Wow!"

Lock Jaw 11-30-2017 08:09 PM

The only time I ever saw him was his debut, though. Had that show on VHS. So never actually saw any more with him.

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-30-2017 08:46 PM

I thought Aldo Montoya was a badass.

Anybody Thrilla 11-30-2017 09:13 PM

The Warlord

Ol Dirty Dastard 11-30-2017 09:34 PM

the warlord did look badass as fuck

Fignuts 11-30-2017 10:59 PM

Yeah, especially during his singles run when he had that entrance armor.

Though one does question the combat advantages of half a helmet.

OverTaker 12-01-2017 01:35 AM

Besides taker, Nailz for some reason and giant Gonzalez.

Shisen Kopf 12-01-2017 01:46 AM

I thought Demolition looked bad ass as a kid, but now I just see a couple pasty white guys in full BDSM gear

Simple Fan 12-01-2017 09:07 AM

Vampiro when he was feuding with Sting in WCW.

Hilarious in retrospect but when I first started watching wrestling in 1998, I always thought The Disciple looked like this cool badass bodyguard.

Had never heard of Brutus Beefcake, Booty Man, Zodiac or any of his other gimmicks. And when I got around to watching old WWF and WCW tapes and seeing those characters, I obviously would've had no reason to connect them to The Disciple.

Almost fell out of my chair when I found out they were the same person.

XL 12-01-2017 12:48 PM

Adam Bomb.

They were actually one of the names I was thinking of.

I also thought their theme was pretty cool too.

The other name I was thinking of was Scotty 2 Hotty.

I thought he was really cool looking when I was a kid.

Cool King 12-01-2017 03:21 PM

He still kinda is, really.

Danny Electric 12-01-2017 03:39 PM

Definitely used to think Tatanka looked really cool as a kid, oh and Hakushi too.

Emperor Smeat 12-01-2017 03:52 PM

Wrath.

Thought he looked cool whenever next to Mortis and as WCW's attempt at a Mortal Kombat ripoff with Mortis and Glacier.

Max Moon looked kinda cool.

Anybody Thrilla 12-01-2017 04:23 PM

Hakushi looked cool as fuck. I was devastated when he beat Bret Hart at In Your House, but looking back, that match was really kinda awesome.

Ol Dirty Dastard 12-01-2017 04:31 PM

Bret beat Hakushi but then Hakushi cost Bret against Lawler

Anybody Thrilla 12-01-2017 04:38 PM

Why do I remember Hakushi winning?

Anybody Thrilla 12-01-2017 04:40 PM

Maybe I was devastated that Lawler won, and Hakushi just happened to be around.

Fignuts 12-01-2017 04:48 PM

What is this Hakushi talk? This thread is about people who DON'T look like total badasses.

Right, someone brought him up, and I suggested that he DID look cool as fuck. Then I just started thinking about him in general. SORRY.

Fignuts 12-01-2017 04:53 PM

I wasn't serious, just making a point in my own way that I also thing he's cool. GOD.

I watched WWF growing up until like 97 and then started watching WCW as well. I had no idea until the mid 2000's that The Disciple was Brutus Beefcake

I would understand this, as I too was broken hearted. :nono:
