Flash on CW
The Flash is part of the DCCW Universe currently shared with Arrow. |
I will be starting on Arrow soon but this is good news. Who would have thought these CW shows would be doing more for DC than the movies?
Me. DC has a good TV track record.
The Flash used to be my comic in my younger days.
I was never a fan in particular, but I watched the first TV series way back when.
THERE'S MORE:
<iframe width="640" height="360" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/Yj0l7iGKh8g?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I am so down it's not funny. That trailer is as hype as some movie trailers. |
Whoa.... literally can't wait for this show.
Wonder what resident TPWW Flash-Fan Jimmy Cones thinks of this
The Flash will be airing Tuesdays at 8PM
With SHIELD moving to Tuesdays at 9, it's gonna be a good night.
Finally Tuesday is no longer the worst tv night of the week.
Tuesdays have been loaded. Thursdays used to be the best but no longer. I think it's Wednesdays and Fridays that are at the bottom.
Tuesday - Agents of S H I E L D, The Originals, New Girl, Supernatural, Person of Interest, Brooklyn Nine-Nine etc |
For me Agents of Shield has legit been the only show I have actually wanted to watch on a Tuesday since like high school.
Wednesday's I have Arrow, Criminal Minds and Archer. Never thought about Friday or Saturday though. |
Looks sweet, potentially a little goofy, but hopefully just sweet.
The trailer hyped me up. I haven't seen all of Arrow yet but I did just watch the Barry episodes and this show looks more fun than Arrow.
As the founder of the Arrow on CW lovewagon, I approve of this thread, this trailer, this excitement and this timeslot.
This is gonna be some epic shit. Wonder if Flash gives Ollie a little more of that comedic wit. He's been so good as a brooding bad ass, it would be cool to see some wise cracking GA. On second thought, maybe not. Keep Ollie just as he is. Let Barry have his own gimmick |

Just marked out at seeing Jesse L. Martin playing a detective again.
RIP Detective Lennie Briscoe |

In hindsight, they did superspeed pretty well.
Never seen the old Flash show. That intro reminds me of the Batman: TAS intro for some reason.
That guy is a total early 90s dreamboat.
Anyone else kinda hoping that the actor who played 90s Flash shows up at some point as Jay Garrick?
Actually he's been cast as Barry's father.
The music sounds like Batman the Animated Series
The reason the theme is reminiscent of Batman: TAS is because it's also from Danny Elfman.
Did Elfman do that theme? Thought it was Shirley Walker.
So, who's seen the pilot?
I'm a complete novice when it comes to The Flash. The pilot did what it was supposed to - had me intrigued about what's going to happen next. That being said, X-Men DOFP did such an awesome job with Quicksilver that the fast running sequences here feel campy. But considering that's a movie, and this TV, i'm guessing they did have to cut corners. Oliver Queen's cameo was 'cool'. Marked out a bit there. |
Doesn't debut until October, bro
It leaked though.
It has indeed leaked. So if you got into it please consider spoiler tags until official release.
Robbie Amell cast as Ronnie Raymond
No doubt Steve might have had a hand in that to make sure he landed softly after Tomorrow People got axed.
Debut time.
I enjoyed it. Will tune in again.
I predict confusing time travel shenanigans in the future. And the past. |
I had watched the leaked pilot before but this was still pretty good. Having 2 series with common elements will be interesting, with this going more into the supernatural villain of the week for now.
I look forward to seeing Grodd.
Everything is better with apes. |
Definitely, Grodd is pretty awesome.
Pumped me up for Arrow.
Yeah, can't wait for tomorrow. Unfortunately, I will be out of town consistently on Wednesdays working evenings for pretty much the entire season. So I won't be able to watch Arrow until Thursdays.
Very disappointed in you.
Also there was a mention of Wayne Tech or Wayne Enterprises in this Pilot. It was probably just a throw away line that doesn't mean anything. However it does beg the question does Batman exist in this world? I feel like it's been hinted at in some interviews that he does exist. Nothing on screen though. So in short I don't know. I'm just interested. |
The acting and writing was especially awful. The story was entertaining. Some of the effects are really good, others... really not.
In short I thought it was OK but overly cheesy. Lots of room for improvement, though I think it can certainly do just that. |

Finding it kind of "creepy" Barry bonding with Detective West in a father/son manner, while wanting to bang Iris with whom he has had a brother/sister relationship.
Anyways, was thinking the entire episode "Cool, Simon Stagg.... he'll be a cool recurring character to have around, and could maybe lead one day to Metamorpho being on TV" So much for that. Also, hope that Multiplex isn't really dead. Can't keep killing off all the villains.... |
This is def a weekly villian thing going on, and I had the same thoughts about Iris too. Weird vibe despite the comic book history.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of all the killing either. I know that the rouges are a nice big group of villains to fight but they can't keep dying. They need to create 2-3 episode story arcs with some villains while others make a cameo here and there and get their own arc later. That is usually how the comics go. Then include a season long thing to wrap most of it up while leaving bread crumbs for the second season. In any case, I feel like the second episode was better than the first.
I could totally see some time changing things for season 2 where all of a sudden his mom gets saved and he and Iris don't grow up all brother/sister and they are free to date and stuff. |
Nothing stopping them from dating altogether, especially after Joe certainly bites it.
I love the 'detective's eye' thing they do. |
Felicity is on Flash tonight.
I'm ok if she gets with Barry tonight however the internet wrestling in me thinks they should hold off on until the cross over. |
Enjoyed Captain Cold.
Also Heat Wave coming too makes me happy. Felicity is always great as well. |
Much less cheese this episode, with a couple exceptions. It's getting better, which I thought it might.
Captain Cold was great. Really well done I thought. |
Definitely came off great, all the way down to the attire.
The Rouges are slowly coming together.
Need to hear Jimmy Cones' weekly thoughts on the matter....

Solid episode until the end. WTF a vacuum with LED lights? And they just let him walk off somewhere?
In any case, the rogues have been needing to come together and we finally have a story arc building. |
Cold was badass. Loved his face when Cisco gave him his name.
Telling Iris that he didn't want to hang out so much was weird. I liked the Grodd foreshadowing. Detective West getting all giggly over the vibrating vocal thing gave me a warm fuzzy feeling.
Yeah, that scene was wonderful.
Pretty good ep. Sorry to see Plastique go like that... Hopefully maybe she has an ability to reconstruct herself after dying and exploding.
She has been known to be part of the Suicide Squad, so would be cool if Waller somehow got a hold of her. |
I don't believe for a second Plastique is dead. I imagine she can survive her own blasts.
And I'm thinking Waller already has tabs on the meta-human occurrences. I think she'd like her own Gambit. |

Sure. Reveal your secret identity to the supervillain.
Yeah, there is no way he that can come back to hurt him.
The whole Tom Cavanagh plot is really fascinating. I need more of that. Also Arrow better beat Flash in the crossover or I riot. |
Motherfucker keeps showing his face to everyone. I like how Iris one-upped his Supersonic Punch.
I can't understand why a super villain would push a bunch of shelves over on his enemy and then not check to make sure he was dead. Other than that, it was another solid episode. I can't wait for some of the story arcs to start getting intermingled.
I hear things will pick up dramatically for the "midseason finale", especially because they didn't originally have a full season order.
Cavanaugh has to be Zoom, right?
Certainly leans that way.... I wonder what Eddie Thawne's "role" is...
Harrison Wells could be a Red Herring, and Thawne turns out to be the Reverse-Flash.... or maybe he is just an "ancestor" of Eobard Thawne. |
My theory...
Wells is indeed Eobard Thawne from the future. |
I think that Eddie will actually turn out to be the Reverse Flash, just atm he doesn't have his powers yet.

Lots of name dropping in those people who "died" from the particle accelerator.
Ralph Dibney Al Rothstein Grant Emmerson Bea Decosta May have been another... Plus Ronnie Raymond, who we know is coming back eventually. |

Motherfucker keeps showing his power off to everyone without his suit on.
Flash vs Arrow!
Wait did they show how they caught the bad guy?
I think that was a win for the Arrow btw. |
They skipped over how they caught the guy. Pretty weird. Basically just reduces him to a plot device to get them to fight.
My TV kind of blacked out at that point so I wasn't sure if it skipped over that part.
I thought the first part of the crossover went really well. Oliver's dickness was in rare form. Also I'm not the only one that kind of dislikes Iris am I? It definitely seems like she isn't suppose to be that like able. |
Wells was the real dick outing Oliver as the Arrow in front of everyone, when at first he didn't know, likely going into his secret room with all future news.

Motherfucker keeps showing his face off to ex-wives of friends he just met with his suit on and mask off.
FOR THE THIRD TIME, MARK HAMILL IS PLAYING THE FLASH VILLAIN TRICKSTER (following his original portrayal in the first Flash series and voicing Trickster in the DCAU).
I said they should get him. I should get credit for that.
So the question is how was he able to be in two places at once?
Damn I was thinking Harrison was Barry from the future and thats why the flash was missing. Now he seems to be reverse flash, I dont know.
Quote:
Sounds right, since Reverse Flash can time travel when he reaches the appropriate speed.
Yea next season is really going to open up the time travel. Sisco hinted that the Flash might have been in the house the night his mother died.
No I mean how was he able to interrogate himself?
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/xe0JiobQ98o?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I'd love it if they did Flashpoint, but it would have to be a scaled back version of it to work.
Love the show but the intro reminds me of the masters of the universe intro
Maybe Harrison just built the suit and someone is going to steal it.
Just watched. Lots of stuff going on.
My theory is that there are actually TWO Reverse-Flashes. Dr. Wells is more in the line of Hunter Zolomon, who wants to make The Flash a "better hero". While Eddie Thawne eventually goes insane after Iris leaves him and some other stuff, has a huge grudge against The Flash, gains powers, and becomes the Reverse-Flash, who conspires with Dr. Wells (gives him technology and future knowledge). And now, yes McLegend, I will go watch Arrow. |
Yea I have a feeling that Eddie is gonna steal the suit . The suit gives him the speed.
The Reverse Flash stole the Tachyon thing though and at the end it shows Wells putting it on the suit or maybe I'm wrong?
Thawne could still be involved. He even asked "why didn't it kill me?", which may have been a red herring but it also could have been eluding to it.
I figurer that was some sort of device that gives the suit speed. He was talking to the metahuman that could take the Flashe's powers and I believe that device was the result of that.
This came back last nght, and I enjoyed it.
No cool Tom Cavanagh moment though. |
