Kalyx triaD 07-10-2013 02:43 PM

A recent Q&A revealed that Yale indeed has plans to introduce JL8's version of Aquaman.

VSG 07-10-2013 02:56 PM

Aquaman

Miotch 07-10-2013 03:03 PM

Oh man, Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy sitting at the next lunch table.

Lock Jaw 07-10-2013 03:07 PM

Clearly Captain Cold and Poison Ivy. *pushes nerd glasses up nose*

The Destroyer 07-10-2013 03:19 PM

Beat me to it. :(

Damian Rey 07-10-2013 03:57 PM

Lol. Pretty excited for season 2.

Miotch 07-10-2013 06:13 PM

Who's the kid in the bowtie there then?

Miotch 07-10-2013 06:16 PM

Also, as I don't really follow DC, why are there 2 villains who are essentially the exact same?

It would be like Marvel introducing a guy named Magnet Man to fight Captain America.

VSG 07-10-2013 06:37 PM

Captain Cold pretty much only interacted with The Flash. Ditto with Mr Freeze and Batman, except that the latter duo is more popular.

There are like seven or eight villains with ice powers. Well, probably not that much. More like four.

- The Icicle
- Mr. Freeze
- Captain Cold
- Killer Frost

Probably some more.

Lock Jaw 07-10-2013 06:47 PM

Also, bowtie guy looks like The Toyman, but I think he is meant to be The Prankster, as seen in:

Well, he was first introduced in #33 playing with a paddleball, then in #50 he's seen with a yo-yo and then a joy buzzer, and is called a prankster. It's definitely not Joker, so I'm gonna go with Toyman. (That's also what was determined by consensus on Facebook, but not confirmed by Yale.)

Nowhere Man 07-10-2013 06:53 PM

Yeah, he looks a lot like the Toyman from the DC Animated universe.

mitchables 07-10-2013 07:31 PM

can we not refer to "seasons" of comics? seems retarded, like calling an album a "set"

i know there's like "smallville season 11" and "buffy season 8" but they followed directly on from a tv series, so it makes more sense than to just arbitrarily start calling arcs (however lengthy) seasons

unless i am missing something and there is some kind of official word on calling this thing a new "season"

seems so strange to me though. even "volume" would be better, if we really have to call it something :-\

Miotch 07-10-2013 07:33 PM

Thank you nerds of the forum for answering my questions.

Greatly appreciated.

Lock Jaw 07-10-2013 07:43 PM

The author of the comic is the one who started using the "season" term.

mitchables 07-10-2013 08:01 PM

booooooooooo

i see you are right, he did use it once on the facebook page, but that's it? i think? i'd like to think it was a one-off lapse in judgment

Lock Jaw 07-10-2013 08:39 PM

There is a comic book called "Morning Glories" that uses "seasons". Just started Season 2 or something.

Supposed to be a good series.

Kalyx triaD 07-10-2013 08:56 PM

Yes Yale referred to the last series as a 'season' and calls this one season two. In any case it comes off as semantics.

Fignuts 07-11-2013 04:01 AM

Captain Cold is so much more awesome than mr. Freeze.

I don't mind him calling them seasons, but people referring to the birthday party as the "namek saga" is ultra gay.

Actually you do have a point there. Captain Cold, before BTAS, was the go to cold villain everyone used. Then Batman the Animated Series happened.

Krimzon7 07-12-2013 09:39 PM

Yale can call it what the fuck ever he wants. Just don't stop making this strip.

Love how there wasn't one single word uttered, and that strip is enjoyable.

HOLY FUCK

Lock Jaw 07-17-2013 01:06 PM

Booster Gold & Blue Beetle

VSG 07-17-2013 01:29 PM

Holy shit!

Miotch 07-17-2013 01:34 PM

Why is that a holy shit moment exactly?

Kalyx triaD 07-17-2013 01:38 PM

Fan-favorite characters.

VSG 07-17-2013 01:38 PM

Diana using her bracelets plus sudden intro of Booster Gold? I dunno, it was enough of a "holy shit" moment for me.

Shadow 07-17-2013 04:11 PM

Have to agree with VSG. Booster Gold and Blue Beetle? And it's Ted. That is awesome.

Same with Diana using her bracelets to block the spitballs. So awesome!

Shadow 07-17-2013 04:12 PM

Oh...my....agod....APACHE CHIEF IS IN THE BACKGROUND!

Lock Jaw 07-17-2013 04:21 PM

Was wondering if that was supposed to be Apache Chief in the background. Wonder if the other person is supposed to be someone as well. Could be Vixen if that is a supposed to be a female.

parkmania 07-17-2013 06:09 PM

Could be a crossover and be Jubilee (*ducks*)

Lock Jaw 07-17-2013 06:24 PM

Or, it could be a man.

Lock Jaw 07-17-2013 06:26 PM

Also, am I to believe that Power Girl is only just noticing that Diana is wearing her bracelets at lunch time?! WASSUP WIT DAT?!

VSG 07-17-2013 06:35 PM

Maybe she sat with Batman the whole morning session- did you consider that, Sherlock?

RoXer 07-17-2013 06:44 PM
