Women First Ever

It seems weird that the women will be having a Elimination Chamber match. Why would they not stretch the first ever thing into years to build certain ppvs. WWE is completely blowing their load on this revolution thing that they believe is a key draw.

Didn't they just do the first hell in a cell too? Geez.

They dont believe its a draw, they believe its good PR

slik 01-31-2018 10:37 AM

Anything WWE ever does is for marketing/pr/$$$

What was that quote Steph tweeted right before they announced Conor's Cure -- something along the lines of 'philanthropy is the new PR' - everything they do always is related to marketing/pr/$$$.

Bad News Gertner 01-31-2018 10:49 AM

It's all PR. An all women's ppv would draw no buys

Droford 01-31-2018 11:25 AM

It would do better than 205 live the PPV

Destor 01-31-2018 11:27 AM

Well if it'll out draw 205 live what are we waiting for?

Emperor Smeat 01-31-2018 04:40 PM

If I remember correctly, Triple H mentioned before women segments usually are their highest or among the highest rated segments for RAW since the Revolution started. Even the Observer has mentioned countless times before about women viewers becoming a very valuable demo for the WWE since this started.

WWE's execution of these "First" announcements has been generally bad but they are also doing the rare thing of striking while the iron is still hot on the Women's Revolution. Makes sense these "Firsts" are starting to happen a lot more frequently considering the Revolution started in mid-2015 and wasn't till late 2016 that it bore fruit with the 1st Women's Cell match.

No, the first Hell in the Cell was a year and a half ago.

While I'd say there were many "flaws" with the Women's Rumble, they certainly accomplished a "special" feeling. Especially when Trish came out at 30. They used her perfectly. She was a badass, but got eliminated by the newer, younger, hungrier wrestler.

If they can treat these other "firsts" the same way as the rumble, it could work out.

Mr. Nerfect 01-31-2018 06:20 PM

Would be glad if the Women's Rumble never happened again, or happened on some sort of niche section of the Network.

That's bittersweet, because no one is really highly rating. They're on a downward trend, and it tends to be marked by hour and generally everything in the third hour is death, and that's very often the women. I don't think there's anything to that claim, sadly, and it's probably based more on technicality than anything.

Ronda shifted the dynamic back to favoring men. I'm not particularly sure that this women's stuff is that appealing to teenage girls. Probably seems quite trivial and pandering. I'd imagine it does well with horny boys who like how bendy Sasha is.

Nostalgia got the Women's Rumble over. That's it.

Mr. Nerfect 01-31-2018 06:45 PM

Was it even that over? I only saw an abridged version, but a lot of it sounded like chants for men, haha. "John Cena sucks" when Nikki came out, "YES!" for Brie, "Undertaker" for Michelle McCool...I'm trying to think of others. Basically if a woman was dating a male in the business, the male was more over than the woman. I'm surprised Bayley's boyfriend didn't get chants.

Aside from Asuka, the most over women were the returning ones like Torrie Wilson, Trish etc...

Mr. Nerfect 01-31-2018 07:57 PM

That's not surprising. They've always been bigger stars.

Simple Fan 01-31-2018 08:32 PM

Thought this was going to be a game of predicting women's first matches that WWW will do later. Any way they've pretty much forced themselves into doing them all now. When the PPVs are match types and you do a Women's Hell in the Cell they'd get the bad PR for not doing a Women's MITB, Royal Rumble, and Chamber.

Shisen Kopf 01-31-2018 08:37 PM

Wonder who the first women to die falling from the rafters will be?

Mr. Nerfect 01-31-2018 08:46 PM

They should do the first Women's Reverse Battle Royal or Electrified Cage next.

Shisen Kopf 01-31-2018 08:50 PM

Women's first blood. Period doesn't count of course

Mr. Nerfect 01-31-2018 08:52 PM

Seriously, if the WWE had balls, getting a woman to blade during an angle would get them huge media attention.

Simple Fan 01-31-2018 09:31 PM

Charlotte isn't a true Flair until she does.

Mr. Nerfect 01-31-2018 09:42 PM

She would be my choice. WOOO!

Mr. Nerfect 01-31-2018 09:42 PM

Imagine Ric being forced to watch as Asuka punishes his daughter into oblivion.

Bad News Gertner 01-31-2018 10:56 PM

Dana Brooke is the greatest female on the roster.

Ol Dirty Dastard 02-01-2018 03:49 PM

Her bf died via choking on a steak. @Gertner

Feel like that is a negative commentary on her.

Don’t forget Lana and “RUSEV DAY” chants. Think the only one that didn’t get that reaction was Naomi.

Womens first "Andre the Giant Battle Royal"

Big Vic 02-01-2018 04:15 PM

Or I guess you would have to replace Andre with a really tall female.....

Nichole Bass Battle Royal.

Two Battle Royals on one show. Oh fuck that would suck. If they're going to do a "all the women in one match" gimmick, I think they need their own thing. Let's spit-ball ideas for this "first-ever" of a concept. Maybe a pole match where you need to get a pin to climb? Oh god, that would suck. I'm out.

Mr. Nerfect 02-01-2018 10:21 PM

Could work in the sense you can give Nikki Bella a fall, but she doesn't need to win the match. You can have Nattie submit someone at Mania, but she doesn't need to win, etc. Maybe as you do the falls, those wrestlers are eliminated, so you can get rid of Alicia Fox and Dana Brooke, and make the match less messy as you go. Someone like Nia could win by eliminating everybody and then just strolling up to the top. But in kayfabe it should fall apart, because you'd get rid of a big threat like Nia, but then you'd just go after whoever got that pin until it whittles down.

Fuck you, I'd give it a go on the Kickoff, because why the fuck not? Fuck you.

Mr. Nerfect 02-01-2018 10:37 PM

Put Carmella's briefcase on the line so you can get it off her. In kayfabe this should only feature SmackDown wrestlers, so it would be Carmella, Becky, Nattie, Naomi, Lana, Tamina, Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan, which is messy enough. Raw girls are enforcers making sure the eliminated girls play nice by throwing them into a big bowl of soup. Not in a sexy way, since this is the revolution.

Everybody gangs up on Riott Squad at the start, because that makes sense. Some of the girls take finishers and there are stereo pins. Morgan and Logan are pinned by Nikki and Naomi, but Riot kicks out, so she's still in. Nikki and Naomi try to climb, but each gets dumped out in turn. Lana tries to school boy Tamina, but gets kicked, pinned and eliminated. Tamina climbs, but Becky powerbombs her out and gets a pin. Becky fights with the girls who can climb, but there's a stale-mate. She tries to eliminate Naomi, but someone breaks it up. Ruby Riott cleans house and is pissed off and climbs, pulls it down, but doesn't win. She uses it like a weapon on Naomi and gets disqualified. Carmella pins Naomi as a result. Carmella goes to climb, but is stopped. Nattie is the only girl to not have a fall. There is a spot where Nattie has the Sharpshooter on Becky to try and get a fall, but Nikki forearms her in the back of the head and stops Carmella climbing, knocking her off and through a table Riott set up in a rage before she got escorted out by the Raw women. People are begging Becky to stop her. She goes for a powerbomb, gets punched down and Nikki wins the match.

I put Nikki over anyway. Keep John happy. Nattie, Becky and Carmella survive -- Becky and Carmella with falls. Ruby Riott got out without being pinned. Naomi and Tamina got out with falls. Logan, Morgan and Lana got out with no falls. It's about getting hierarchy and structure to your division too.

Good thing King of the Ring isn't a PPV anymore. It'd be changed to King & Queen of the Ring.

October 30, 2016 actually. Not quite a year and a half. On the date you posted that incorrect post, it was 1 (one) year and 3 (three) months. So, actually, it was one year (1) and a quarter (1/4) NOT a year and a half.

Don't be shocked if they do a Queen of the Ring.
