Star Wars - SPOILERS INSIDE
Star Wars Script Finally Finished
Quote:

It was pretty dumb of Disney to say an unwritten movie would be done and in theaters by May 2015. Glad to see they are finished with the script and moving forward with filming soon. Really glad they are going to give the trio a big sendoff and then focus on the next generation. Really hope JJ can bring back a sense of realism to the movies. All that fake CGI really took me out of the movie experience. They need to use models and blow em up again.

Fucking nice! If that is in any way connected to or going to be used in the upcoming films, then that's got me excited.
It's a just a fan short, but a badass one. There's tons of fan choreographed lightsaber duels on YT; some not as cool, and others should be in a movie. It helps that saber effects have gotten easier for techies.
That new Rebels cartoon looks like it's gonna work out. I'm getting excited, and at least they allowed Clone Wars to finish.
I'd like one that doesn't look all cgi. Plus where is Detours? Come on.
Detours is more than likely dead, dude.
Then fuck Disney up the ass with a double sided lightsaber. I will not watch Rebels until Detous is given a release date.

Adam Fucking Driver FTMFW.

Peter Mayhew, who played the Wookiee Chewbacca in Star Wars: Episodes III – VI, will reprise the role for Star Wars: Episode VII, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Rumors of the casting circulated recently when Mayhew cancelled a planned appearance at Texas’ Comicpalooza “due to filming.” The convention takes place May 23 – 26, and coincides with the recent announcement by Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn that Episode VII is already filming (see “'Star Wars VII' Shooting”). Mayhew has made a career of appearing as the iconic character in TV appearances and making convention appearances, though he also voiced Susha for Dragon Ball GT: A Hero’s Legacy. Wookiees, according to the the Wookieepedia, The Star Wars Wiki, can live for several centuries. Chewbacca, played by Mayhew, had a brief appearance in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith in the Battle of Kashyyyk, alongside Tarfful and Yoda, and helped Yoda escape the planet. Later he joined up with Han Solo as copilot and smuggler for Star Wars: Episodes IV – VI. |
So he's back with the Big Three, likely in passive roles.
When do we get to hear who starring in this new trilogy, me wonder. |

Max Von Sydow and Andy Serkis are cool. No idea who the rest of them are.

Uh-OH Adam Driver and Oscaar Isaac back together in OUTER...SPACE
I like Domhnall Gleeson. No idea on most of them.
That one with the long hair and wonky face better be playing an alien creature of some sort.

Lots of little-knowns. That's very good.
Was there a rumor around that Force ghost Obi-Won might be in it or the sequels but played by McGreggor?

Good formula that worked for the first movies. Most of the known cast were older people like Grand Moff Tarken. |

Oooh, nice!
Very hype. The Empire lives.
I wonder if their aim will get any better....
Let's hope not. Piss poor aiming is a hallmark of any Imperial Stormtrooper. Unless they're slaughtering Jawas in a big, slow moving vehicle, of course.
Besides, if they upped their standards, their numbers would dwindle. |
There's a trailer doing the rounds on social media. Is it a fake?
It is. It's spliced together from video game clips and fan films. It's very impressive and I'll admit to bring fooled up front, but it's been debunked.
They are releasing the new trailer online tomorrow, though, to combat people pirating it in-theater. |
nice!

Haha, First he knows nothing about MMA now hes a nerd watching Star Wars. What a loser

Seems weird seeing the Millennium Falcon all CGI and fancy, after pretty much my entire life as knowing the practical/model version they used when filming the original trilogy. Such a weird observation.
looks fuckin sweet, so stoked
The Falcon looks EPIC though.

It's just a teaser but still...I thought it would be much better. Maybe the full trailer will be what I expected.
Frankly, it is more than I expected. Pretty sweet. Hope it is good.

Lightsaber broad sword.... Yeahyeahyeah
Saber effects have been adjusted a bit. I hope Nick G is back doing choreography.
I just don't know. I really want to like this. That first shot of the guy popping up in the Stormtrooper uniform made me think this was some sort of a parody - like I'd been tricked into watching a rick roll or something.
The rest was pretty good. Not sure how I feel about the lightsaber with the "guards." Doesn't really make much sense, really, but just done as a change for the sake of change and to look "cool." I always liked the sleek look of an ignited lightsaber. Much to be seen. |
Trailer looked nice.
 Stormtropper just randomly popping up on screen. |
lol yeah the stormtrooper thing looked weird and awkward out of context, but I'm still super hyped

Apparently people are talking a load of shit about how the black guy can't be a stormtrooper because he's black, and all the stormtroopers should be Jango Fett. Did they not establish that this wasn't the case by the timeline of the original trilogy. Did we never see a stormtrooper without his helmet in Episodes IV-VI (genuinely can't remember)?
Or, maybe he pulled the same trick as Luke did and "borrowed" the armour? Either way, and whatever the reason, it's no excuse to be racially abusive to the actor via social media. This planet annoys me sometimes. Maybe I could piss off to a galaxy far, far away... |
Clone Troopers were phased out because they realized that Jango Fett's personalities were possible to turn them good because of his Mandolrian Battle honor stuff. Some of the Clone Trooper refused to carry out Order 66 because of loyalties to the Jedi. Troopers are now true believers of the Empire.
I figured the problem people had with the Black trooper is that he's the only the second black guy in the galaxy and he's a heel. Not for any other reasons. It makes sense because of the Empire's racism (well mostly racist to aliens) that black people are storm troopers. |

*sigh*
Yeah the Clones were phased out by the OG trilogy. I think the cloning facilities were shut down as well. Stupid quasi-racist who really should know better if they're Star Wars fans. And conversely people getting extra hype because of a black and female character. This fucking planet. At least talk is dying down about the claymore lightsaber. |
Colbert killed that controversy dead.

Happy Life Day!
Oh my god fuck the holiday special.
Just read an interview with Sam L Jackson. It's old, from like 2012, but in it he says he really wants to be in the new star wars movies. Either as a spirit or a one armed jedi who survived his death scene in Revenge.
I would love to see him return and have it revealed he survived. Just this grizzled old one arm veteran who is still a legit badass jedi after all this time. They'd probably have to use make up and stuff to make him look older, but whatever, they could do it. |
Maybe his arm is a lightsaber now. Man, that would be so radical.

No he didn't.
He actually only lost one HAND.
And lets be honest, losing any limb in star wars is just a minor inconvenience. Happens to everybody.
Only acceptable if he sports the lisp he did in Kingsman.
Well he probably could have survived then. I thought he lost both hands so he couldn't use the force powers.
You don't need your hands to use the force.
I think Count Dooku lost both his hands. You probably have it confused with all the other hand losing. |
Dooku. That's right. Probably should have saved the two-handed for the final loss of arms. Damn you Lucas.
Most of the filmed force powers come from the hand area. I know there's Battle Meditation and such. |
They don't actually need hands to use the force. The whole hand extended pose is more for the audiences sake, so they know the person is using the force.
Like when Jean Grey extends her arms in x-men when she uses her telekinesis. That whole pose is just one of those sci-fi tropes. It doesn't really mean anything. |
Does anyone think Mace Windu was a huge dick who kind of played a big part in the fall of the Jedi? Especially since he was always a dick to Anakin?
Either way would love to see him back. |
They all were huge dicks to Anakin.
Recently watched the prequel trilogy. Pretty much hadn't seen Episode II since it came out in theaters. It was much worse than I remember. Was literally cringing at the Padme/Anakin scenes, of which there were many.
It's worth it for that dress she wears in the fireplace scene. She was the biggest tease in the history of the universe.
If you don't want to perforate your eardrums, and gouge out your eyes with a spoon, during the Padme/Anakin scenes, your tolerance for cringe-worthy cinema has to be legendary.
The only saving grace of the prequel trilogy is Natalie Portman's midriff; 'tis a thing of beauty.
Currently been watching through The Clone Wars on Netflix.... only a handful of episodes in to the show but it seems alright. Only thing is that Anakin seems "out of line" with his characterization in the movies. In the movies (and the first Clone Wars series which I also watched) there was always this underlying anger/frustration/impatience/whinyness to him. In this show he seems "playful" and "cheerful" too much.
The Anakin in Clone Wars is a far more superior characterization than in the movies. If he was more like he was in the Clone Wars the movies would have been better. He's really like able in the Clone Wars.
You're in for a good series, Lock Jaw. |
The Clone Wars cartoon more than adequately explains why Anikan did what he did in Eps.III than the prequel trilogy did. It's much more tragic in the expanded context.
I forget; a few months back when they claimed that everything in the "expanded universe" isn't canon, was Clone Wars included in that? Or is that considered part of the actual story
The Clone Wars counts as far I know. Everything after Return of the Jedi does not.
I would love to see a clone wars season dedicated to Revenge of The Sith. I know that's never going to happen though. |
Clone Wars, Rebels, and all the Novels and Comics after the Disney buyout are all canon.
I mean, if you want other people to decide for you what's canon. Personally, what ever I want to be canon IS canon. If the new movies come out, and I don't care for them, then they didn't happen, and the Thrawn stuff and New Jedi Order is what happens next. Simple as that. |
Yeah Clone Wars survived the great Disney purge.
