I don't see how they are already shitting the bed. If its simply because of the ONO PPV on the 8th I dont see that as a big deal. They had that date for a ONO anyway an nothing recorded so doing one live seems like a good idea. They'll probably do something along the lines of the Global X Cup or something that fits the ONO format but I don't see that as shitting the bed.

WWE has announced the second competitor in the 2016 Royal Rumble. The company revealed that Curtis Axel has joined Big Show in the thirty-man match. Axel still claims that he was never eliminated from last year’s Rumble match.

The company also noted in the five-point preview that more entrants will be announced on RAW.
Hell yeah, should have had him in the Raw segment last week.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-02-2016 12:15 AM

Don't change the channel!

Evil Vito 01-02-2016 10:29 AM

<font color=goldenrod>Something will happen to prevent Axel from entering again and it'll be the next recurring Rumble joke along with Kofi always finding new ways to avoid elimination.</font>

Frank Drebin 01-02-2016 10:53 AM

Kinda rooting for Axel to find his niche. One of the best themes. If Sandow couldn't do it through a comedic route I don't see Axel doing it though.

SlickyTrickyDamon 01-02-2016 10:58 AM

Should just do what was going to do before AxelMania: go down to NXT full time. He has been in the past training buddies of the Rock and Brock Lesnar. So, he's not going anywhere as long as Brock is around.

Evil Vito 01-02-2016 12:00 PM

<font color=goldenrod>Had no idea Zack Ryder and Emma were dating. Apparently have been for a while.

Getting to bang Evil Emma is a pretty great consolation prize for having basically nothing to do on the main roster for 4 years.</font> :y:

Damian Rey 01-02-2016 12:10 PM

Isn't Emma still traveling with the main roster? That's a pretty great thing to do.

His theme is really all he has going for him though. Textbook definition of average. If even.

Savio 01-02-2016 12:44 PM

I like Axel as the guy who doesnt know he sucks

Yeah, but on the downside, he's stuck teaming with shitty ass Mojo Rawley.

CHW. If they push Robb Banks WWE might as well close up shop. He's the Hogan of this generation.

On one hand, that's pretty entertaining.

On the other, that's precisely the problem that lead to not having enough "star power" right now. After what seemed like a surefire start in his re-christening at the hands of Paul Heyman, he was relegated to comedy status and jobber meatshield within, what, like 3-4 weeks? Imagine for one second that Lesnar's debut was booked similarly... where he came in and 2x powerbombed people like he did at first, but only for like two weeks, then proceeded to lose every match and do shit to look dumb and weak just to prevent people from attacking Paul Heyman. He would have gotten nowhere near top draw potential, and would be mentioned in the company of guys like Heidenreich or Nathan Jones today. Axel is almost in the same boat as Cesaro... except that Henning* has a boat with more holes and a smaller bucket and less TV time in which to bail it out.

Even a (regular) stint in NXT would help him out. Book him to be a legitimate threat. Say he's focused. Give him televised victories to help get his stock up. That part of the "getting people over" equation should not be so hard, but WWE makes it like it is impossible.

Simple Fan 01-02-2016 03:38 PM

Love all the Axel talk. I think it would be pretty cool to have Axel enter the Rumble at #30 and about 5 guys left. Axel last to the last 2 and who ever WWE wants to win the Rumble gets shoved under the ropes to the outside and Axel starts a 10 count with the fans and thinks he's won the RR by countout so he starts to celebrate while the other guy get back in and dumps him over the ropes to win. Gives Axel another gripe with the RR match and also goes back to when he debuted and was beating people by countout(HHH and John Cen).

Savio 01-02-2016 03:43 PM

I'd like the WWE to specifically state "If you do not enter the ring before the next entrant you will be disqualified."

Rey Mysterio will meet AJ Styles for the first time ever in a “dream match” on January 14th in Sheffield, England. The match is one of the indy dates that Mysterio is working while he appears for Lucha Underground.

As noted earlier, Mysterio’s deal with Lucha Underground is for two years and while his AAA contract has ended as of the end of 2015, he is likely to stay linked to AAA and do some events for them
Might be an alright match. Anyone close to Sheffield, England?

Obligatory Renee Young reference.

Triple H hates google

Quote:

While the arrest angles are quite similar, there is one major difference. WWE released a mug shot of Vince (through social media, and it was shown during Raw), but not of Stephanie. Kevin Eck, who was on WWE's creative team at the time, explains in his latest column why there was no mug shot of her.
While tossing around ideas for the angle in a creative meeting, Eck suggested that a mug shot-style photo be taken of Stephanie and shown on television. Triple H, however, hated the idea.
Eck wrote, "Vince loved it. In fact, I think I may have gotten one of his "that's good thinking" figurative pats on the back. However, when the creative team ran the angle by Triple H, he didn't care for any of it, and he especially hated the mug shot idea."
"His reasoning was that the faux mug shot of his wife would exist forever in cyberspace, and therefore if someone did a Google search on Stephanie and the photo popped up, people might think she had actually been arrested, which could be detrimental to her career as WWE's Chief Brand Officer."
Eck noted that Triple H stated his case to Vince, who nixed the proposal.

CONTINUOUS RAINMAKERS UNTIL TANA IS NOTHING BUT HIS GLORIOUS HAIR

CSL 01-03-2016 09:13 PM

lol legit think the finish could be something like that, 3-4 consecutive RAIN-MAKE-AHHHH!

Droford 01-03-2016 09:21 PM

Im not hugely into NJPW but getting to see them wrestle live (well Tanahashi in a tag match vs reDRagon and Okada in a tag match with Nakamura vs the Briscoes) was pretty awesome
