The Town - 8,5/10

Always hated Affleck as an actor, but this is the second movie he directed and the second I really enjoyed.

I know it's details but the way they talked kinda annoyed me. No idea what half-assed accent they were going for but it didn't sound anything like Irish. And they were supposed to be Irish, I guess.

Jura 02-04-2011 12:53 PM

It's a Boston accent. There's a lot of different accents in America that is unique to a certain region. Maybe they are of Irish descent but they are American, not Irish.

Schlomey 02-04-2011 01:58 PM

Transylmania - 4/10

Ah, ok. Is it proper Boston accent, then?

Vox Populi 02-04-2011 02:38 PM

The only person in the crew that had to fake one was Renner, and he nailed it.

I wouldn't know but Ben grew up in Boston so he should be able to do one. The Departed features those accents too.

PorkSoda 02-04-2011 05:50 PM

Yes, the Boston accents were very proper and accurate. I lived in Massachusetts for 21 years, I should know.

Loose Cannon 02-05-2011 10:52 AM

Tears of the Sun:

10/10

I'm always a sucker for rescue mission type movies. Three Kings with Clooney comes to mind. Basically Bruce Willis and his team go into the hostile Nigeria to rescue this American doctor, but they end up changing up the mission to rescue the refugees with the Dr as well. They have to get to the Cameroon broder by foot while evading the Nigerian rebels.

The last 20 minutes was amazing. great action and storyline. love Bruce Willis

Jura 02-05-2011 11:24 AM

If you love him so much then why don't you marry him.

Loose Cannon 02-06-2011 10:29 PM

I turned around and watched Die Hard right after that. no review needed though because I've seen int 50 times

7/10.

LOL@the part where Hopkins was having exorcism on a preggie teen and suddenly his cell phone rings. And after that he made a Exorcist reference to the young priest who has first witnessed his ritual.

"What did you expect,?!? Spinning heads and spitting pea soup?!" LOLZ.

And this:

6/10.

Despite its obvious run of the mill revenge movie, for once, The Rock has stopped making wholesome family shit movies from Disney.. Fairly decent..

I like the intros of the characters like Feast minus the profile status. All you see are nouns like Cop, Driver (The Rock), and Killer..

FakeLaser 02-07-2011 11:52 PM

Closely Watched Trains - 8/10
Pretty funny at points and definitely an absurd story

OssMan 02-07-2011 11:56 PM

Fargo

I thought it was going to be funny. Still good though. Enjoyed it but that's about it.

BollywoodSingh 02-08-2011 01:49 AM

The Other Guys - 6/10 - There were some funny parts, but overall, nothing great. I was surprised to see Billy Gunn in it.

ClockShot 02-08-2011 10:59 AM

No Escape - 2.5/5

Think Escape from New York but on an island and in primative living conditions.

PorkSoda 02-08-2011 09:50 PM

Predators - 6/10.

Clash of the Titans (2010) - 2/5

dronepool 02-10-2011 12:10 AM

All Star Superman

9/10

AWESOME!

Schlomey 02-10-2011 01:07 AM

New In Town - 3/10

Whoever says Zellwegger is tolerable as a leading actress should be anal probed.

PorkSoda 02-10-2011 08:05 AM

In The Line Of Fire - 3/10.

Boring. Slow paced. John Malkovich and Clint Eastwood talk on the phone EVERYWHERE and it's really redundant. If Clint is in a bar, John calls the bar, if Clint is at home, John calls him at home.

ClockShot 02-10-2011 10:47 AM

The Crow: City of Angels - 1.5/5

Was Iggy Pop there looking for a paycheck? Also, Yellow Ranger :'(

RoXer 02-10-2011 11:41 AM

Sanctum in beautiful IMAX 3D: 30

thedamndest 02-10-2011 12:03 PM

The Social Network: 6/10 - Liked the beginning half hour or so. It was Sorkin dialogue at its best. But after awhile it becomes apparent that the founding of a website is actually rather boring.

McLegend 02-10-2011 07:58 PM

You all suck. (people who didn't like Social network)

thedamndest 02-10-2011 08:42 PM

I would have rather watched three episodes of Sorkin West Wing.

I agree, it was nothing *that great*. The Social Network was basically just a film with an ongoing lawsuit with undertones of getting rich while acting like an ass and losing friends with flashbacks of having parties and making websites.

BigDaddyCool 02-11-2011 10:29 AM

Raging Bull - more like raging boring. I didn't get it, I couldn't finish it. Which is weird cause I like the actors in it, love most of their other work especially Casino.

This movie just fucking screams ORPHAN...
SPOILER: show
The big twist at the middle and ending was that the teenage "rape victim" he rescued seduced him while the wife was suffering from blood cancer.. Also, I'm surprised and was screaming at the screen WHY THE FUCK DID HE KILL HIS WIFE WHEN HE SAW THE TEENAGE GIRL ATTACKING HIS WIFE?!?!?!" Then the ending just went from mindfuckery to depressing... The teenage girl said she's leaving cos the husband called the social services to take her back to the city where she was meant to belong. Then the film ends showing a fucking empty house a buried dead wife and a FUCKING FUCKED UP PATHETIC HUSBAND LOOKING AT EMPTY WALLS in their cabin..

FUCKING SAD SHIT I tell you.

7/10.

I gave 5 stars (out of 5) to Ponyo. That movie is just adorable.

Black Swan - 9/10 for the story. 10/10 for THE scene. omgomg

Also, Mila Kunis would be a great silent-villain. Like in Terminator 3. She could play the female-terminator to perfection! Bank on it! I'm gonna work with her someday and have her be a silent badass.

I told my brother this and he rolled his eyes and said "yeah okay"

The ending "twist' was already I think obvious from the start of the film... Yet, this is still effective to watch it on late nights.. Nothing scares me more than abandoned psychiatric hospitals..

Buried - 9/10. Ryan Reynolds is a talented guy

RoXer 02-15-2011 03:14 AM

It's Kind of a Funny Story - 78

Started off great, horrible third act

JimmyMess 02-15-2011 07:50 AM

I don't remember if I did this one...

but Faster... 5/10

The King's Speech - 62

BigDaddyCool 02-15-2011 04:50 PM

Rockinrolla or how ever it is spelled. 3 out of 5. I've seen better.

PorkSoda 02-15-2011 08:51 PM

Resident Evil: Afterlife - 0/10.

Ummmm....I like Mila Jovovich and Ali Larter, it was cool to see Mila shoot stuff....there were a couple cool bullet slow-motion kills...other than that....WTF was this? I've seen a couple of the other Resident Evil's and they sucked....and this one is no different. And why do coins fall out of the zombies whenever they die?
