I prefer the Toby Tobey Maguire movies. Excpet for Spider-Man 3.

It was quite good though.

Kalyx triaD 10-21-2012 03:31 PM

Amazing wasn't quite as fun, but it captured the modern comics better.

Kalyx triaD 10-21-2012 03:53 PM

With the Young Justice episode posted a while back I was inspired by that and the posting of the Little League comics to maybe begin posting embeds of entire episodes of Marvel/DC 'toons from a very reliable site I've been using for a while now. How would you gentlemen feel about evolving the comic threads to be deposits of the latest cartoons and even live-action shows (Arrow, etc) when uploads are found?

Crossrine 10-21-2012 04:51 PM

So I just got a Kindle Touch as a gift from my boss, does anyone know of any way for me to put comics on this thing? Sorry for cutting off any ongoing conversations, just didn't feel like making a thread

p.s. tried the cbr to zip file image blah blah blah thing didn't work.

Blitz 10-21-2012 04:59 PM

Is it a Kindle Fire? Regular Kindles can only read ebook files. Don't think you can put comics on them.

Crossrine 10-21-2012 05:04 PM

Nah its a regular kindle i guess...says it could read pdfs but I guess id have to pinch and zoom or some shit on each fucking panel which sounds awful blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh1stworldproblemssfvgt4rwes

Blitz 10-21-2012 05:08 PM

Yeah PDF reading is no fun on this things.

I think I heard Kindles now have some kind of comic support, but I have no idea how they work. Probably better sticking to books though, can't imagine reading a comic on a Kindle is much fun.

Ming-Na Wen, formerly from ER and Stargate Universe, will play a "soulful" and "damaged" pilot named Melinda May in Joss Whedon's new S.H.I.E.L.D. TV show. Melinda May is described as "an ace pilot, a weapons expert and a soldier who can - and has - gone beyond the call of duty." And apparently she's the character who was originally named Special Agent Althea Rice, aka the Cavalry, in the first casting breakdown. Also, judging from some of the reports out there, it sounds like the late Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) might only be in the show's pilot, not an ongoing character.

The Wolverine is NOT a prequel, actually taking place after The Last Stand, with Logan dealing with Jean Grey's death and the X-Men apparently disbanding. Dealing with immortality seems to be the director's go-to theme. Even with this info, it seems there will be flashbacks in the movie since we know there were WWII sets, and then there's this:

Bone claws, baby.

In a surprise move, X-Men: First Class director Matthew Vaughn has elected not to helm the upcoming sequel, X-Men: Days of Future Past. Deadline is reporting that, among those being considered to replace him, is X-Men and X2's Bryan Singer, who also produced Vaughn's 2011 film.

Schlomey 10-25-2012 10:58 PM

Damn that sucks....I just hope his reason wasn't a shitty script.

Skippord 10-26-2012 12:46 AM

I'm pretty sure he wrote the script

Schlomey 10-26-2012 08:07 AM

Makes it even more shocking....and sad.

Lock Jaw 10-30-2012 01:15 AM

Some dude named "Frank Grillo" has apparently been cast to play Crossbones in the Captain America sequel.

Kalyx triaD 10-30-2012 01:21 AM

Cool.

Skippord 10-30-2012 06:52 PM

Bryan Singer's directing Days of Future Past

Kalyx triaD 10-30-2012 06:58 PM

Hot. A respectable and slightly obvious replacement.

Kalyx triaD 10-30-2012 07:27 PM

Nick Fury, Maria Hill, and Black Widow will appear in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Miotch 10-30-2012 08:15 PM

I for one am shocked by that news.

Kalyx triaD 11-01-2012 08:15 PM

Good chance Jamie Foxx is going to play Elektro in ASM2.

Kalyx triaD 11-02-2012 12:59 AM

lol Oh yeah, Jamie Foxx is definitely Elektro. Webb should work on his vagaries.

With the release of several of the Marvel NOW! comics I'm surprised this thread is so quiet.

Schlomey 11-14-2012 12:34 PM

I just got FF, All New X Men, Thor, Avengers Assemble 9, Deadpool all part of NOW

and picked up Gambit #5 and Marvel Universe vs Avengers 2.

Fun week at the comic store.

Reavant 11-14-2012 12:37 PM

I dont like the writers for the new deadpool.... not anywhere near as funny. He doesnt have any of the other personality boxes that hes talking to and its written like the character is intentionally trying to be silly rather than him being silly because hes crazy

Schlomey 11-14-2012 12:58 PM

issue 1. Give it a chance. I haven't had time to read it yet, though. I love Brian Posehn in just about everything...i'm actually very excited for this.

Reavant 11-14-2012 01:28 PM

yea but I mean the way daniel way did it was awesome... at least hes stil writing him in thunderbolts

Schlomey 11-14-2012 06:52 PM

I'm all for creative license and making a character look more "real to life" but I don't like the look. In this case I preferred the comic version.

Rammsteinmad 11-14-2012 07:30 PM

Doesn't look that bad, to be honest. :y:

Kalyx triaD 11-14-2012 08:28 PM

I would have liked the hair but it's cool.

Fignuts 11-16-2012 03:09 AM

Ugh. Not liking a lot of the new Marvel Now stuff. All New X-men and Uncanny Avengers showed promise, but got really stupid by the end.

Fantastic Four was only decent. Dislike the art. Future Foundation was better.

Iron Man and Red She Hulk are good. Enough to keep me interested.

Thor and Wolverine And the X-men both continue to be excellent. Reavant, if you're looking for comedy, Wolverine and the X-men is the way to go. Issue 19 in particular had me laughing out loud.

Everything else sucks.

Kalyx triaD 11-16-2012 03:46 AM

Well I guess Marvel settled the mystery of Dog (Wolverine Origin) being Sabretooth. Dog returns as a new villain. Stupid. I liked the idea of Wolverine and Creed being brothers (and so did Fox). Whatever.

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel, but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Next Big Thing 11-16-2012 04:39 PM

Does Fox control the X-men franchise indefinitely or will Disney get it at some point in the future?

Kalyx triaD 11-16-2012 06:59 PM

They gave it pretty much as long as they have Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. He's their star.

Then again, they already screwed that pooch (no pun intended) with the last Wolverine movie anyway. Pops his claws to end his real dad and they both run off all buddy-buddy through the decades.
