Really liked this Japanese People vs Luchadore feud

KIRA 04-17-2018 10:46 PM

Boy oh boy I cannot wait for the unavoidable triple threat match between Mojo Riley Baron Corbin and Roman Reigns

RAW managing to keep both Balor and Rollins was the only real good thing to happen for the brand.

On the other hand, WWE needed to move one of them since neither is going to get the big face star spotlight because of Reigns for Rollins and Rollins for Balor.

Lock Jaw 04-17-2018 10:48 PM

Hot match

Wonder if this feud is done, and where everyone goes from here

Wonder if Hideo and Tozawa start feuding

I'm pretty consistently impressed over the past several weeks how the 205 Live main event almost always manages to get the crowd invested and super into it.

You can almost see the crowd go from "Man, isn't 205 Live shitty?" to realizing it's a whole new show by the end.

WWE Makeup Cannon, which is trademarked by me and approved for use by Lock Jaw.

Helps that Vince's grubby hands are no longer on the brand. Too bad the Renaissance of the brand didn't happen soon since the Cruiser title should have been on Mania's main card this year.

Evil Vito 04-17-2018 11:08 PM

Glad Paige's involvement was reduced to one little more than one quick backstage segment

I don't remember it being specified. But then again, she had those matches on RAW against James and Bliss.

They kinda implied that's what was going to happen with her winning the fem rumble and challenging Charlotte instead of going for the RAW title. However, seems like another one of those things they didn't exactly follow through with and just let it "sort itself out".

Lock Jaw 04-17-2018 11:32 PM

They never once implied or insinuated that Asuka challenging Charlotte moved her to the Smackdown roster

Short answer: they're not. All this talent, and there will be "nothing to do" because a team of writers can't focus on more than 3 angles per PPV cycle. And it will somehow be the fault of the wrestlers.

Evil Vito 04-17-2018 11:42 PM

To give some perspective on how much they love to shift around the rosters, and also because I'm a total list geek:

Raw - Alicia Fox, Big Show, Bo Dallas, Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar, Curtis Axel, Dana Brooke, Finn Balor, Goldust, Nia Jax, Roman Reigns, Sasha Banks, Seth Rollins, Titus O'Neil
SmackDown - Aiden English, AJ Styles, Becky Lynch, Carmella, Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Naomi, Randy Orton, Rowan

That's everybody left who was selected during the 2016 Draft and has remained with their brand throughout the nearly two years of the split.

You silly man, you can't use real logic like explanations. That would be stupid.
You have to apply WWE logic.

She challenged the the Smackdown champion for absolutely no reason even though she was a RAW talent. Therefore, she was either jumping ship or unifying the belts. Very similar to Jinder going to RAW, dropping the US strap to Hardy, then Brother Nero going to Smackdown to keep their midcard title on the correct show, just less telegraphed because it was way before they announced "OMG SUPERSTER SHEKUPP!!!"

Simple Fan 04-18-2018 01:01 AM

Yeah Smackdown definitely won this Superstar Shake Up. Didn't expect Joe or Asuka, thought it would be Balor and Banks. The Good Brothers on Smackdown Live should be great plus The Bar, Smackdown tag division is stacked. Still think Joe wins the IC and Mahal wins the US to swap them once again. Miz returning actually has me looking forward to a Daniel Bryan match for once. If it wasn't for Braun I don't think I'd have a reason to watch Raw.

Lock Jaw 04-18-2018 01:09 AM

Just realized that Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt are going to win the RAW Tag Team Titles.....

oh no

Wonder why their not calling up Nikki Cross.

Danny Electric 04-18-2018 04:19 AM

Also I can see the Good Brothers turning on AJ and siding with Nakamura.

Tom Guycott 04-18-2018 04:27 AM

I would either guess a) she's going to RAW, or b) it isn't so much of a knock on her as much as she is now one of the in-ring vets down there. It is kinda thin on the side of the ladies, especially when they blew massive (figurative) loads on bringing up Ember Moon, The Iconic Duo, the former heaters for Paige, and the three-girl Riott Squad. Really, you can kinda add Asuka to that mix. That's a lot of *trained* girls to call to the main roster in a relatively short amount of time.

But, one thing NXT has been fairly good with is the overlap of training folks, having a few that are ready but still able to go with the ones who are greener, and those who get the main roster nod. I would wager she's still there to help carry the fresh meat until you get another handful of girls who can do the same, then she'll get called up. And further speculation would lead me to guess that Bianca Belair would be appearing on the main roster around the same time.

I agree with that , hence Bayley not getting the call up for a while and Asoka. Can't remember Nikki being on NXT for a while or her last meaningful feud, wonder if she will join them to counter another female wrestler on an opposing team.

Luigi 04-18-2018 04:43 AM

Just as 205 has its own show, do you think female wrestlers having their own show could ever work?

Women that are pure valets would stay on RAW or SD, but the female wrestlers could get their own show. Perhaps on this female wrestling show, you can have certain males be the valets/bodyguards of the female wrestlers. This could be a decent way to get some guys some additional TV time. Ronda Rousey, Charlotte, Asuka, Paige, and Stephanie McMahon would be the biggest stars on said show.

Danny Electric 04-18-2018 04:51 AM

Just for the fact I feel there is enough shows already I'd say no even though it could probably work.
Also you know that it will be spun as some as being sexist etc that women are on a separate show.
One way you can work round it is to have one of Smackdown or Raw dedicated to a women's division and the other to a tag division.

It would go against what they are trying to do with the whole women's revolution. You are effectively telling the world that the premiere wrestling shows of WWE are for men only.

Tom Guycott 04-18-2018 06:30 AM

Got a point, Figgy. Didn't even think of that... but they still kinda did that.

However, I think an all women's show could have possibly worked, but the problem is they got too worried about setting up Total Divas/Total Bellas for the longest time and women's wrestlers actually having women's wrestling matches were super far on the back burner. That's why you had AJ Lee basically being queen of a nearly non-existent kingdom at the time she cut that promo that actually started the Women's Revolution that Steph likes to take credit for. They basically took potential angles and nixed the wrestling to focus on the whole Reality TV vibe. They effectively became TV stars who happen to wrestle sometimes instead of wrestlers who happen to be TV stars.

Fignuts 04-18-2018 06:37 AM

Hard truth is that the women of WWE as a whole, aren't good enough to carry a show on equal footing with the guys on Raw or Smackdown. If they were, I'd be all for their own show. As it is now, they would just get exposed.

Bayley's main roster call-up was also delayed when she suffered (IIRC) an arm injury.

KIRA 04-18-2018 07:11 AM

I got one small thing to point out I really like the segment with the Usos and Naomi before they went out to get murdered by the bludgeon brothers that was sweet

wonder if cross is getting repackaged to go with bray and matt make her a rosemary ripoff.

A fan of your caliber should know that would never work. They already have Total Divas anyway, we don't need a in ring show dedicated to nothing but women's wrestling.
